  1. >Equestria, Middle of Nowhere, Day–
  2. >You really should be keeping track of time.
  3.
  4. >Equestria, Middle of Nowhere, Day 16, 9:14 AM.
  5. >TrixAnon Stories: Part Two.
  6.
  7.
  8. >It's your second day of hiking towards the nearest town of Ponyville.
  9. >These names are getting funnier with every time you hear a new one.
  10. >"Anon, Trixie is tired."
  11. >But we've just started going up 10 minutes ago.
  12.
  13. >Well, it is a quite steep hill.
  14. >And you both haven't eaten since Fillydelphia.
  15. >Oh.
  16. >Trixie's a lot worse than you when it comes to "not eating", isn't she.
  17. >Then you have to get up there fast.
  18. >You take a glance on the map floating in Trixie's magic beside her.
  19. >Eh, you're about three quarters of the way there.
  20.
  21. >Wait.
  22. >Trixie's magic.
  23. >Magic.
  24. >Trixie's words suddenly come back to you.
  25. >"Magic is energy."
  26.
  27. >You take the map and put it back in Trixie's bag on your shoulder.
  28. >She's livened up a bit.
  29. >Trixie stops, shakes her hand around and looks at you.
  30. >"What happened?"
  31. >That magic map was probably feeding off her own magic to sustain it's GPS-like power.
  32. >You shake the map in front of her face.
  33. >"What."
  34. >She takes it, with her teeth this time.
  35. >And drops it upside-down on the ground.
  36.
  37. >You don't get what's important about it's backside.
  38. >Trixie seems to not think the same, though.
  39. >Her face is getting angrier and angrier by the seconds.
  40. >"Anonymous."
  41. >Oh, her old arrogant voice is back.
  42. >You guess that means that she's alright now.
  43. >"Look at this."
  44. >Getting another angle on that, you see something written in small font on it.
  45.
  46. >Do not use for prolonged periods of time. Drains unicorn magic energy extremely quickly. Do not eat, ages 3+.
  47. >"I'm going to sue the pony who sold me this once we get back to Canterlot."
  48.
  49. >...
  50.
  51. >You crawl over the hill, moaning and dying both inside and outside.
  52. >...Where's Trixie?
  53. >You probably lost her on the way up.
  54. "I'll help you get up when I get at least a Big Mac and a large Cola."
  55. >Two number 9's.
  56. >One number 9 large.
  57. >A number 6 with extra dip.
  58. >A number 7.
  59. >Two number 45's.
  60. >One with cheese.
  61. >And a laaarge fuckin' soda.
  62.
  63. >"Anon! Anon!"
  64. >Oh, she's alive.
  65. >All your hopes shatter instantly.
  66. >"Help Trixie. I can't go higher."
  67. >Her speaking-in-third-person thing is back.
  68. >Maybe that's just when she approaches a city.
  69.
  70. >You stop and turn around.
  71. >She's lying 10 feet up the hill.
  72. >Fucking hell.
  73.
  74. >...
  75.
  76. >With Trixie riding on your back, you make your way to some kind of orchard.
  77. >It's all apples.
  78. >They are all huge, bright-red and are probably really sweet.
  79. >"I think I know this place..."
  80.
  81. >You hear a voice in the distance.
  82. >It's obviously a pony's, but where is it coming from?...
  83. >Suddenly, the sound of clopping hooves gets to you.
  84. >You slowly turn around so Trixie on your back doesn't fly off.
  85. >She is hanging tight, though.
  86.
  87. >An orange mare with a stetson hat.
  88. >"Howdy!"
  89. >What else did you expect...
  90.
  91. >As she comes closer, the expression on her face changes from "happy to see ya, pardner" to "what didya just say about my mom".
  92. >"Trixie, is that you?"
  93. >Oh, these ponies must not know you.
  94. >You imagine half of Equestria would recognise you after all the shows with Trixie.
  95. >But not these guys, apparently.
  96.
  97. >Trixie jumps off your back.
  98. >"Trixie, I can't think of why in tarnation would you be here, but if you're up to no good again with that thing…"
  99. >She points her hoof at you.
  100. >"…You should be sure that we won't tolerate that this time."
  101. >"Oh come on now Applejack, you know Trixie's sorry for what she's done."
  102. >Trixie? Apologising?
  103. >She must be desperate.
  104.
  105. >"Besides, I have a show in Canterlot tomorrow, and I won't be wasting my time on ponies like yo–"
  106. >You shut her mouth with your hand before it's too late.
  107. >Goddamnit, Trix.
  108.
  109. "Please, don't misunderstand, our carriage broke halfway to here from Fillydelphia and we're really tired after so long of a road."
  110. >The pony (probably called Applejack), is visibly surprised by your manner of speech, then takes a couple seconds to proccess what you just said.
  111. >"W-what he just said."
  112. >Trixie tries to scrub off the taste of your hand from her lips with her hoof.
  113.
  114. >"Well…"
  115. >The orange pony tries be reasonable, but you guess Trixie has quite a history with other ponies in this town.
  116. >And not a good one at that.
  117. >"I suppose you could stay for a rest and a warm pie?"
  118. >You didn't know how a pony with a southern accent could be this cute.
  119.
  120. >You look around the place, now that you're a bit into the orchard already.
  121. >Sun passes through the leaves of the thin and high trees, making Trixie's mane look almost golden.
  122. >Applejack's coat looks the same in this light, just a bit more shiny.
  123. >Some of the trees aren't fully grown yet, and are leaving a big patch of sunlight, where a cute little dog lies on it's back.
  124. >You wonder if dogs can also talk in this world.
  125.
  126. "Will others be alright with…"
  127. >You rethink what you were about to say.
  128. "…You know, me?"
  129. >"Ah'm sure they'll be fine."
  130.
  131. >Ponyville, Equestria. Day 17, 11:21
  132. >Almost your third week!
  133.
  134. >Man, this pie is great.
  135. >You've tasted some nice pies in your time, but this is the best thing ever.
  136. >Well, the next best pie was that meat thing you got at Greggs once…
  137. >Huh.
  138. >Ponies don't eat meat, do they?
  139. >You'll need to hunt something soon.
  140.
  141. >Also, it's really hot in the house.
  142. >Probably because it's warm outside and you're wearing two layers of clothing in here.
  143. >You're surrounded by ponies.
  144. >Apple family on your left, Trixie on your right.
  145. >Well, Apple family except two, you've heard it's the little Applebloom and their granny.
  146.
  147. >It's kinda quiet in here.
  148. >"So…"
  149. >Applejack is trying, at least.
  150.
  151. >"Do you min' if I ask, what exactly are you, Anon?"
  152. "It's alright.", you say with a chuckle. Probably made Applejack really uncomfortable.
  153. "I'm a human. Made a portal to Equestria to start a new life and find adventure. That's pretty much it."
  154. >The big red stallion sitting next to you seems interested now.
  155. >AJ, not so much. Probably not her cup of tea. Or cider.
  156. >"That suuure seems like fun, Ano–"
  157. >"How did you build it? Was it hard?"
  158. >His voice seems a lot higher than you imagined.
  159. "It's one old mirror and a bunch of electronic parts, really."
  160. >The pony looks puzzled.
  161. >"Electronic? Ah've heard that in college, ain't it like things made harnessin' Twittermites' power? Guys were sayin' that that's impossible…"
  162. >This guy has a college degree?
  163. >Well…
  164. >They're magical talking horses, after all.
  165. "It's a bit more complicated than that."
  166.
  167. >So, you're out of that place.
  168. >After discussing the nature of physics in Equestria and the place of science and scientist ponies in it's social structure over some tea with Big Mac, you get out the front gate with Trixie, now all clean and almost happy, and proceed to getting to know the rest of Ponyville.
  169. >You turn around for the last time before leaving to see the Apple family waving to you two from the house.
  170. >Goddamn ponies, why are you so cute.
  171. >Even Mac.
  172. >Nohomo.
  173. >…
  174. >Walking through the little town with your diary in your tight grasp, you now feel it.
  175. >The cute little houses surrounding the central square, and an old oak tree for a library.
  176. >The Sun feeling warm on your skin, but not hot, just right.
  177. >The light breeze, crawling through small pathways between the buildings, ruffled the collar of your shirt, which, carefully washed in a nearby river, felt like silk on your sensitive skin.
  178. >The ponies greeting each other like the whole Ponyville's their friends…
  179. >Maybe that's just how ponies are.
  180. >Freaking adorable.
  181.
  182. >Trixie, walking beside you, seemed off somehow, though.
  183. >Her eyes jumping back and forth between corners and other ponies.
  184. >Ears unknowingly pressed to her head, like she was sneaking to not attract any attention to her.
  185. >Looks like the exact opposite to her normal behaviour.
  186.
  187. >You glance at her, as if you're asking "what's wrong?".
  188. >She sighs heavily before giving her act up.
  189. >"It's just…"
  190. >"I remembered this place just now."
  191. >"I had a show here about a year ago, and it went horribly."
  192. "What do you mean?"
  193. >"Well, I said some awful things to these ponies, and, you know…"
  194. "They kicked you out?"
  195. >Trixie sighs again, not out of regret this time.
  196. >She grabs you by your hand with her soft hoof, and drags both of you into a small alley.
  197. >"Look, Anon…"
  198. >Trixie's somehow whispering and shouting at the same time.
  199. >"Can I trust you?"
  200. >Really?
  201. "You spent the night just before crying your eyes out in my lap."
  202. >"I mean, can I really trust you with something?"
  203. "Well, I guess."
  204. >"Hmph."
  205.
  206. >She straightens her collar a bit.
  207. >"Anon, I just really wanted to say…"
  208. >Trixie looks around.
  209. >"Well, thank you. For everything that you've done for me. You really helped me not lose my mind right there that night."
  210. >Wow.
  211. >First, apologising, second, saying "thank you"?
  212. >Is this the real Trixie?
  213.
  214. >After a deep, but quiet sigh, she finally continues.
  215. >"Anon, I just really wanted to say…"
  216. >You feel blood rushing to your cheeks from the tension.
  217. >Trixie's looking at your feet from the looks.
  218. >Her height is just under your chest, measuring by the tip of the horn.
  219. >"Why not come over to my good friend over there?"
  220. >She points at some pony behind you, you guess.
  221. >And as you see, there actually is a pony.
  222. >Brown stallion with a familiar haircut, and an hourglass for a cutiemark.
  223.
  224. >Trixie quickly zooms past you, calling the guy, you presume.
  225. >"Doctor! Doctor!"
  226. >Or is she calling for a doctor?
  227. >You can't tell, but you'll follow her anyway.
  228. >He turns around to face her and answers with a sexy British accent.
  229. >"Trixie? Since when did you overcome your phobia of this town?"
  230. >Then the doctor notices you behind her back.
  231. >"I guess you won't have to answer that one…"
  232.
  233. >Doctor's smug grin doubles in width as he starts shaking Trixie's hoof with his both fronts.
  234. >"I can not believe that you finally found yourself a special somepony, Lulamoon! Not exactly what I expected to see, but I guess it's fine."
  235. >You can't see Trixie's face, but you're sure she's just as confused as you are.
  236. "But I'm not–"
  237. >"Whooves, stop it!"
  238.
  239. >Doctor (you guess) Whooves stops shaking up the blue horse.
  240. >"First, Trixie will never go down so low as to be in a relationship with a human…", says she while fixing her hat.  "…and second, your engine broke."
  241. >Now his smile turns upside down.
  242. >"What do you mean "broke"? Do you even know how many hours I've worked on the thing? I-I-I…", he tries to yell, stumbling, but quickly realises that he's right in the middle of town. "…I mean, Trixie…"
  243. >Doctor sighs and even his frown almost fades in defeat.
  244. >Trixie is also not very happy, especially by the sight of some ponies recognising her and walking around you three.
  245.
  246. >"Do you have it on you?"
  247. >"Does Trixie look like she is carrying a huge hunk of metal on her back?
  248. >"Yah, I got it, I got it. Shall we go, then?"
  249. >Trixie sighs.
  250. >"Sure."
  251.
  252. >Only now you notice how it got darker while you were on your way.
  253. >The dim twilight falls onto the little pony town.
  254. >You feel sunlight gradually slipping away from your skin, and the darkness consuming the horizon.
  255. >You almost want to go after the warm sun, a thought you never even thought back home.
  256.
  257. >The quiet chattering of ponies slowly walking by, and the mumbling of Doctor and Trixie talking between each other seemed like little bumblebees buzzing away in the dark, minding their own business.
  258.
  259. >Going along what you assume is the main street, all the windows light up along your way, like fireflies, making the town feel magical.
  260. >Well, maybe it is, you're not a real expert in magic stuff.
  261.
  262. >"…And like I said, we won't need magic when I finish my project!"
  263. >Doctor spurted out, and immediately hid under Trixie's cape.
  264. >His head poked out of it, while you and Trixie were gazing at him.
  265. >"Maybe a little bit."
  266.
  267. >After glancing around to see if anyone caught his little slip up, Whooves got up, dusted himself off, and signaled with his hoof for you to follow him.
  268. >Trixie seems just as confused by that as you are.
  269.
  270. >The streets are now almost empty, with the occasional pony walking by, although you can't imagine why would a pony be not home so late.
  271. >Actually, speaking of late…
  272. "Um."
  273. >You wait until someone reacts to that.
  274.
  275. >Whooves' ear twitches.
  276. >Good enough.
  277. "Uh, what time is it?"
  278.
  279. >He stops for a brief moment, looking up somewhere.
  280. >His big eyes squint, almost becoming the same size as yours.
  281. >"Abo-o-o-o-out 7."
  282. >Is it autumn here?
  283. >Doesn't feel that cold.
  284.
  285. "Thanks. I just can't live without a clock."
  286. >"Well you're in luck, since there's one right above you, good sir!"
  287. >You look up somewhere in the same general direction as the Doctor did just now.
  288. "Oh."
  289. >And sure enough, there's a big clock tower, looming over the thin clouds.
  290. >And you're going right to it.
  291.
  292. >We aren't going in there, are we?
  293. "We aren't going in there, are we?"
  294.
  295. >Trixie, while still walking along, looks at you like you're a mad man.
  296. >You consider yourself one, anyway.
  297. >"Is there something wrong, Anon? This is where Doctor lives."
  298. >A-alright.
  299.
  300. >You reckon it's fine if all of it isn't made for ponies.
  301. >As in "too small for humans".
  302.
  303. >But it seems adequate, even by your standarts.
  304.
  305. >Speaking of too small, this wind isn't one of those things.
  306. >You wouldn't classify it as a strong breeze as you would back home, but it is definitely quite alright.
  307. >It ruffles the pages of your little diary, which is strapped to your belt.
  308. >You better not tell the ponies what this belt is made out of, ha.
  309.
  310. >You hear a quiet clanking noise.
  311. >Doctor is also getting the keys from his toolbelt.
  312. >My man Doc.
  313. >Or my pony.
  314. >Either will do.
  315.
  316. >The squeaky door opens before you, letting out a strong smoked wood smell from the inside.
  317. >Trixie almost jumps into the darkness first, Doctor follows her, and you go in last, closing the door behind you.
  318. >A gust of warm air wraps around you, making you feel like you're moving in jelly.
  319.
  320. >A clanking noise breaks the silence, turning on the gas lamps under the ceiling.
  321. >You see a thin spiral staircase with absolutely nothing else in the huge room.
  322. >It looks like it's gonna fall apart any second.
  323. >Not minding that, ponies automatically go up them with ease, hopping on the steps.
  324.
  325. >However, every your step on the floor is greeted with a loud squeak of the planks.
  326. >Every breath brings an odor of smoked wood, rust and oil into your nose, mixing up into something somehow attractive.
  327. >The feeling of a new smell gives you strong chills, as you're walking up the wide steps made for ponies.
  328. >Screeching and shaking, the ladder holds your weight.
  329. >With every step the smells become stronger, and the lighting warmer.
  330. >You finally get your gaze out of your feet and look up.
  331. >Doctor and Trixie are waiting for you, both looking tired.
  332. >You assume Whooves had been busy today.
  333. >Trixie's eyes shined and glimmered as bright as ever, looking even better in the dim, warm light of the gas lamps scattered about.
  334.
  335. >You stand in front of them, now not afraid of a set of metal stairs collapsing under you.
  336.
  337. >"Welcome, Anon, to my workshop!"
  338. >Looking around the place, there are pistons all over, hammers, nuts and bolts, metal sheets…
  339. >This is a proper workshop, you must say.
  340. >There's also a model of some sort of a basic plane hanging off the ceiling.
  341. >For some reason.
  342.
  343. "You don't get visitors often, do you?"
  344. >"What?"
  345. >Suprised, Doctor yelps.
  346. "I wouldn't show off my place to someone like this if I had more than one visitor a year.
  347. >He has nothing to do but nod in acceptance.
  348.
  349. >Trixie lets out a small chuckle before walking over to the back of the room, leaving you and Whooves awkwardly staring at each other.
  350. >"So…"
  351. >Doctor doesn't even know how to start, by the looks of things.
  352. >His staring is very thorough.
  353.
  354. >"Fancy some tea?"
  355. "Sure, why not."
  356. >"Then just plop down somewhere around Trixie, I'll be back in a minute."
  357. >He goes in some other direction, and you're too tired to even turn your head, as you've just noticed.
  358. >You come up to Trixie already curled up on the armrest of one of the two surprisingly big armchairs.
  359. >Next to a cute little fireplace.
  360. >And still in her cape and hat.
  361. >You sit down carefully, trying not to shake Trixie too much.
  362.
  363. >This clocktower is a lot better than you imagined it to be.
  364. >Speaking of clocks.
  365. >Where's the actual clock part?
  366. >You've seen it from outside.
  367. >But didn't see the chimney.
  368. >So it must be on the back side of the building.
  369. >And sure enough, when you turn around, you see the mechanism right on the opposite side.
  370. >It was just behind you when you came up the stairs.
  371. "Alright, I'm stupid."
  372. >You whisper to yourself.
  373.
  374. >Letting out a sigh, you guess you might as well relax for a bit.
  375. >You get comfy.
  376. >Hm.
  377.
  378. >You never noticed how small these ponies actually are.
  379. >Well, you did, but it wasn't really the same thing.
  380. >They're cute.
  381. >You hand involuntarily slowly advances to the sleeping pony.
  382. >It touches the coat.
  383.
  384. >Awwww.
  385. >You start by gently petting Trixie's back.
  386. >Her delicate fur feels amazing; It's thicker on her sides, and becomes as smooth as silk towards the back.
  387. >Trixie was definitely tired; She would've killed you by now.
  388.
  389. >Good pony…
  390. >You yawn, but force yourself to not emit any noise so Trixie doesn’t wake up.
  391. >Scratching her floof does relax quite a bit, doesn’t it.
  392. >Your eyes close be themselves, the traitors.
  393.
  394. >”Kheugh.”
  395. >You hear a strange, forced cough.
  396. >Slowly turning your head around, you only see Doc with a tray in his mouth.
  397. “Oh. Oh. Sorry.”
  398. >You help him put it on the small coffee table between the two armchairs.
  399. >He smiles at you and sits down on the other one in some strange manner, looking more human than other horses.
  400.
  401. >”So, how is it?”
  402. “How is what?”
  403. >”Well.”
  404. >Doctor looks around for some reason.
  405.
  406. >”Equestria.”
  407. “Oh, it’s great. Loving it so far, except the whole engine breaking thing.”
  408. >”That happens. It was my fault, anyway.”
  409. >He sips a little bit from his cup while it’s still on the tray before continuing.
  410. >”Ah, I also fell in love with this place since the first time I saw it.”
  411.
  412. “Ha. Ha-ha.”
  413. >What.
  414. >He’s talking about Ponyville, right?
  415. >”Finding something funny?”
  416. “N-no. Everything’s fine.”
  417. >”But I think it’s quite funny. Ha-ha.”
  418. >He tries faking a laugh like you did right now, but fails miserably.
  419.
  420. >"Sorry. The stress is getting to me."
