- Name: Ichigo Sanchez/Android 01
- Age: 58
- Gender: Male
- Race: Human
- Appearance: I'm... really not sure how to pad out the appearance of a character to two paragraphs. Most of his body has been equipped with artificial organs and nanomachines meant to increase his strength. His body is covered in scars due to a never-ending struggle against injustice and the horrendously painful forced surgery peformed by the Red Ribbon Army. Ichigo doesn't look like he's 60, though- he seems to be in his late forties. For some reason or another, he chooses to dress like a cowboy- a hat that shades his face, a bandanna around his neck, jeans, boots, a leather jacket, and strumming a guitar as he walks. People tend to trust the image of a sheriff, even outside the West.
- In order to conserve power, Ichigo has to perform a sequence of arm movements and cry "OVERDRIVE!" in order to activate the most energy-consuming parts of his cybernetics. Doing so also equips him with specialized armor designed to look like a skeleton from the extra armor plating in the shape of ribs. In order to make it less sinister, he's painted it up like a Calaca skeleton, giving him his secret identity- Desperado Skull. He still wears the hat and bandanna, completing the ensemble with a poncho and thick leather gloves (with a hole for his energy absorbers), making him look like something out of a Day of the Dead display. While he DOES pack a revolver, he mostly sticks to punching people.
- Personality: At a young age, Ichigo was a cheerful man, operating as a rookie private detective. However, this came to an end when he was in a horrible motorcycle accident, orchestrated by the Red Ribbon Army to gather the first subject for their Cyborg program. Due to a clerical error, Ichigo was listed as "Android 01" rather than "Cyborg 01." His heavily injured- almost crippled- body was augmented with a number of cybernetic parts. However, he was deemed a failure due to retaining his free will, and was to be destroyed. This didn't go well for the firing squad, as the combat-spec cyborg tore through them with little effort. He escaped, a man terrified of the monster he had become and angry at the world.
- That was forty years ago. Today, Ichigo is a heroic and selfless man who is brave enough to fight against the odds. He's a kind hearted soul that tries to help those in danger and protect the weak from those who would use their power to subjugate them. Despite all the trouble he has faced against the Red Ribbon Army's soldiers, he is aware of their misfortune and feels sorry for them, knowing that they very well could have ended up like him. He knows that he is somewhat inhuman due to the cybernetics, but thinks that sometimes you need a monster to fight monsters.
- Character Ideas: I'd kind of like him to have an energy draining capability like the later models of Androids- being a prototype, he was sort of a testing bed for all sorts of tech that would later go into 16-20 and Cell. As for character stuff, he's strictly within the law- hence his sheriff motif.

- Review:
- OOC info: Looks fine
- IC info
- Name: No, we're not using main character names from major shonen anime here, especially since it's not even considered a common/normal name. Also Android 01? Pretty presumptuous about claiming the first ever android being made. I understand he's a cyborg, but also understand technically Cell was a cyborg too, and he was still labeled as an Android. Cyborgs don't really exist in DBZ, they're all just called Androids.
- Age/Gender: Fine
- Race: We'll probably want to build an android template
- Appearance: Doesn't meet standards
- a) Despite meeting length requirements, most of it does not seem to be descriptive to his appearance
- b) Red Ribbon Army does not exist, please re-read the rules/info for more details
- c) I'm not digging the desparado gunslinger idea since it doesn't fit the theme at all. Japan is a country with one of the lowest gun counts in the world. Guns just don't fit with martial-arts themed genres in most cases, but specifically not in this case.
- Personality: Doesn't meet standards
- a) Again meets length but reads like a history, not a personality description
- b) There's no Red Ribbon Army to orchestrate these ideas.
- Character Ideas: Draining is entirely possible with spending points properly. Though since none of the cannon androids exist, your idea doesn't fit this game.
- Please redo your RTJ with the proper fixes listed above and we'll go from there.
- Me:
- Honestly, a lot of the ideas for the character are adapted from the Tokusatsu genre. Specifically, Kaiketsu Zubat and Kamen Rider, two of Shotaro Ishinomori's seminal works. Ichigo is a name I came up with because it literally means "#1." Makes me wonder what you're talking about though.
- Dragon Ball doesn't even take place in a "real world" version of Earth, let alone Japan. Yamcha lives in a tremendous desert, in what is clearly a landlocked area. There's Chinese, Indian, and Japanese architectural patterns in the same cities. The President of Earth is a talking dog-man. Even ignoring the setting and saying that this IS Japan, guns are used throughout the series. Launch, Metallitron, South Kai, Hercule, and Mercenary Tao all packed heat. Even going as far back as episode one of Dragon Ball Z, a random farmer pulls a shotgun on Raditz.
- As for the lack of Red Ribbon Army, I thought that "non-canon characters" didn't extend to removing characters and organizations sort of vital to the history and feel of the setting. I mean, if there's no Kami, how are there Dragonballs? If there's no Porunga or Shenron, aren't the Dragonballs just fancy glass spheres? If there's no Vegeta line (Planet, King, or Prince), how do the saiyans become a culture? If there's no Frieza, why are there Saiyans in space, since their home planet is intact and the PTO never uplifted them? I mean, without SOME canon elements, doesn't it defeat the point of a Dragon Ball game entirely?
- GM:
- Ichi go means number 1, Ichigo means strawberry.
- This is also non-cannon, please don't argue with a GM about their game, it's their game so they're right.
- See point 1, also without cannon characters, the history is different anyway so there's no need for Red Ribbon Army. What great war is fought in the DBZ timeline? That's a major part of this history. No it doesn't defeat DBZ entirely, it defeats the characters entirely to make room for truly creative people.
- I've entertained you enough at this point. Your RTJ is now rejected for at least 1 week's time for arguing with a GM's final say. I implore that you take that time to reconsider if you're going to be a good fit for this game, as it seems you don't like how it's set up. If youd like to play in a cannon game, feel free to write up rules and templates to do so. Feel free to spend your free time reading RTJs and approving apps, then coming up with scenarios that work. Feel free to devote hours a week into making something fun for someone else without the expectation of anything more than people being happy, and occasionally dealing with the one off who questions you for everything you do and argues with your statements as if they have more knowledge about your future plans than you do.
- If any response is made within 1 week you will be permanently restricted from joining this game.
