  1. >It's cloudy, you're walking down the city street.
  2. >You see a pretty lady sitting down on a bench on her phone.
  3. >You pass her merely taking note of her presense.
  4. >She turns and smiles at you.
  5. >You stop, you smile nervously back.
  6. >"Hey, you."
  7. "Me? Yes?"
  8. >"How would you like to go out on a date?"
  9. "Oh wow really?"
  10. >"Sure, just give me all the money in your wallet!"
  11. >She snickers.
  12. >You pull it out opening it up.
  13. >Theres 50 dollars inside, you hand it to her.
  14. >She looks surprised as you're handing it to her.
  15. >Oh man, you can't believe you're gonna get to go out on a date with this pretty woman for only 50 dollars.
  16. >It's almost insulting, you'd gladly pay her more, or, well, you feel like you almost can't put a price on something like this.
  17. >She snorts laughing.
  18. "S-so um, where can we go?"
  19. >"What?"
  20. "On our date, you said we were going right?"
  21. >"Oh, yeah, meet me at the Starbucks tommorrow at 4 ok?"
  22. "Wow alright! Hey, my name is Anon by the way, what's yours?"
  23. >"Adagio."
  24. "Cool, I can't wait to get to know you tomorrow!"
  25.
  26. >You get home.
  27. >The room seems big.
  28. >It's a bit chilly too, although you did leave the window open.
  29. >You open up your fridge.
  30. >You decide to assemble a lovely salad.
  31. >Gotta be in top form for your date tomorrow.
  32. >It's not often you get to go on outings with pretty ladies working part time at the super market.
  33. >After your salad you do a few crunches and situps.
  34. >Then you go to the bathroom and look at yourself in the mirror.
  35. >You grab your toothbrush and brush your teeth.
  36. >You floss afterward followed by mouthwash.
  37. >Dental hygiene is important.
  38. >You decide to head to bed early.
  39. >The bedroom always feels cold and empty.
  40. >But you go to bed smiling with the thought that you'll be able to meet someone nice tomorrow.
  41.
  42. >You get up and get in the shower.
  43. >You wash your body, exfoliate the face, and shampoo your hair.
  44. >You get out drying off as you go to the closet in the buff deciding what you will wear.
  45. >It has to be something casual, you wouldn't want to intimidate her or make her think you're weird on the first date.
  46. >You read once that first impressions are important.
  47. >You pick out a nice clean t-shirt and a good pair of jeans.
  48. >It's a bit chilly so you also wear a well fitting jacket over top.
  49. >Your stomach growls, silly you, you nearly forgot about breakfast!
  50. >You decide to have some plain oatmeal, (not instant) with a banana on the side.
  51. >Filled up you grab your wallet and keys, put on your socks and shoes and head out the door.
  52.
  53. >You go to the store with time to spare.
  54. >You figure now would be a nice time to pick out a gift.
  55. >Well, not something fancy, but, just something nice to make a good impression.
  56. >After stumbling through the store for a while you find a small box of chocolates.
  57. >After using your credit card to purchase them you notice a small card attached for someone to write something.
  58. >You pull out a pen as you exit the store.
  59. >What would someone cool say?
  60. >Hmm..
  61. >You write,
  62. >'Dear Adagio, I hope we can become good friends.'
  63. >Perfect.
  64. >You decide to personalize it a bit by adding a small smiley face at the end.
  65. >Oh my, still plenty of time before the date..
  66.
  67. >You decided to hang out at the library until the time arrived.
  68. >At 3:40 you show up at the Starbucks fashionably early.
  69. >You order a mocha and take your seat.
  70. >You peer out the window.
  71. >The rain coming down a bit as the wind picks up.
  72. >You feel bad for her if she has to walk out there in this.
  73. >Maybe she would feel better if you had brought an umbrella.
  74. >How thoughtless of you, you would've been able to shield her from the rain.
  75. >You sip you beverage as you wait patiently.
  76. >Time keeps going on by.
  77. >You watch as the cars pass, you check your phone.
  78. >Time continues to move forward.
  79. >It's 5:20, she's a little late..
  80. >Maybe she forgot.
  81. >Well, hopefully when she remembers she'll still stop by to check.
  82. >You keep waiting.
  83. >A Starbucks employee approaches you.
  84. >"Sir, is everything alright, are you waiting for someone?"
  85. "Oh, well theres this girl, we're supposed to meet up for a date. I'm really excited, I'm sure she'll show up any minute."
  86. >"Ok."
  87. >He says walking off.
  88. >You leave the coffee shop at 7:30.
  89. >She probably just forgot, when you see her again you'll have to try and reschedule.
  90. >Maybe something came up, it's not a perfect world after all, things happen all the time.
  91. >You head home.
  92.
  93. >You get home.
  94. >You open your fridge.
  95. >It's empty.
  96. >You spent the last of your money ordering coffee today..
  97. >Well, you probably needed to lose some weight anyway.
  98. >You brush your teeth, floss them, gargle mouthwash, spit.
  99. >Then you strip down and fold up your clothes going to the bedroom.
  100. >You slip under the covers.
  101. >It was a shame that Adagio couldn't make it, you really wanted to see her.
  102. >Well, maybe things will be better tomorrow..
  103.
  104. >You're hanging around, downtown by yourself.
  105. >Suddenly there she is.
  106. "H-hey Adagio!"
  107. >She seems to turn the other way upon your approach.
  108. "Hey.."
  109. >"Oh, it's you."
  110. "Yeah, I uh, I got the right coffee shop right? It was Starbucks right?"
  111. >She snickers.
  112. >"Wait.. Wait hahaha.."
  113. >She seems like shes about to bust out laughing about something.
  114. >"Are you serious, you ACTUALLY showed up?"
  115. "Yes?"
  116. >Shes covering her face as she seems to be withholding hysterical laughter.
  117. >"Did you seriously expect me to go out with YOU on a date? REAALLY?"
  118. "Well you did say-"
  119. >"Get real! You're so gullible! I can't believe how stupid you are!"
  120. "I don't understand, are you saying you were lying?"
  121. >"Of course I was lying! I can't believe you gave me all the money in your wallet and then expected me, a woman you only saw in passing to actually be interested in dating you."
  122. "O-oh.."
  123. >Adagio smiling wickedly at you.
  124. "I, I'm sorry, I.. Its my fault, I shouldn't, have been so naive."
  125. >You walk away.
  126. >Adagio laughing hysterically.
  127. >Rain begins coming down.
  128.
  129. >You get home.
  130. >You've been feeling, this painful feeling in your chest..
  131. >You're pretty sure there's nothing physically wrong with you.
  132. >But somehow, you just feel, off..
  133. >You look at the small box of sweets on the counter.
  134. >Somehow, looking at it makes you feel sad..
  135. >Like, somehow you were a fool..
  136. >No, no you were a fool.
  137. >Not only are you going hungry again tonight, but the person you thought you were dating merely tricked you.
  138. >This, feeling in your chest keeps intensifying.
  139. >It hurts..
  140. >You wanted someone, to talk to, someone, to be there..
  141. >Why, did things have to turn out like this?
  142. >You had such confidence that everything you were doing was right that you failed to see the bigger picture..
  143. >You feel stupid, you feel like a failure..
  144. >Maybe if you were more attractive she would have really gone a date with you..
  145. >You turn to your mirror.
  146. >You're not nearly as attractive as she is..
  147. >You'll probably never be as attractive as she is..
  148. >You brush your teeth, floss, and use mouthwash.
  149. >You go to bed.
  150. >This feeling, in your chest, it feels unbearable.
  151. >You try to hold it back.
  152. >Men aren't supposed to cry, men are supposed to be strong..
  153. >So why, why does this hurt so much?
  154. >You keep trying hard to choke back the tears.
  155. >You feel so pathetic..
  156.
  157. >Suddenly you hear a knock at the door.
  158. >Who could it be at this hour?
  159. >You get up wiping the tears from your eyes as you go answer the door.
  160. >You hear the rain as you answer.
  161. >Adagio is at your door?
  162. >She has a remorseful look on her face.
  163. >"Look, about, today.."
  164. "Are you, here to apologize?"
  165. >"Yeah.. May I, come in?"
  166. >You hesitate for a moment but allow her inside shutting the door behind her.
  167. >Shes biting her lip with a look on her face suggesting she's having trouble finding the words to say.
  168. >Suddenly she turns to your counter.
  169. >"Whats that?"
  170. "Ah thats-"
  171. >She walks over picking it up.
  172. >She opens the small box of chocolates.
  173. >She notices the note hanging off the side as she reads it.
  174. >Her head sinks.
  175. >"No ones.. Ever gotten me chocolates on the first date before.."
  176. >Tears forming in her eyes.
  177. "Adagio?"
  178. >She wipes them away as she sniffles.
  179. >"You're too good for me.. I feel like such a bad person."
  180. "Its not too late to change."
  181. >"How long, did you wait for me?"
  182. "About three and a half hours, I figured maybe you forgot or something."
  183.
  184. >"I, I've never met someone like you.. Dammit Anon, you're such an idiot, how could you believe such an obvious lie?"
  185. "I guess I just try to see the best in people."
  186. >Adagio frowns.
  187. >"You're too kind."
  188. >She turns opening your fridge.
  189. >She seems shocked.
  190. >"Have you, been not eating?"
  191. "Only for the past few nights, it's no big deal."
  192. >Adagio grits her teeth.
  193. >She pulls out her wallet.
  194. >She pulls out a 50 handing it to you.
  195. >"It's what I owe you."
  196. "B-but our date.."
  197. >"We didn't go on one, and, I wouldn't charge you to go on a date, not after this. You're a better guy than 90 percent of the men I've met."
  198. >You feel blood flow to your cheeks as you take the 50 from her.
  199. "T-thanks."
  200. >"Anon I.. I know I said it before, I said we should date, but.. This time, I actually mean it, if you're still interested."
  201. >You smile.
  202. "Sure, everyone deserves a second chance."
  203. >Tears start forming in her eyes again as she smiles back at you.
  204. >As if by instinct you open your arms wide.
  205. >Adagio walks into you hugging you.
  206. >"I can't believe you've got me all emotional, I can't believe I've found someone whos legitimately this nice.."
  207. "I'm just a normal guy really."
  208. >She chuckles.
  209. >"You're too much.."
  210. >Her eyes look around your mostly empty abode.
  211. >"Wow, it's, really vacant looking here, hardly anything on the walls, and you live alone?"
  212. "Yeah?"
  213. >"Well, I know this is a little forward but, how about, to make it up to you, instead of a first date, we could, spend the night together?"
  214.
  215. "You want to?"
  216. "Sure, actually, since you r place is empty, we can order food, on me if you want."
  217. "But it's customary for the man to pay for the meal?"
  218. Adagio raises an eyebrow.
  219. "I feel bad enough as it is after standing you up on that date, I'll pay for this."
  220. "If you insist."
  221. Aria pulls out her gold Iphone and orders Pizza.
  222. You and her then sit down on the couch.
  223. She leans up against you.
  224. She pulls your arm across her.
  225. Her hair is so soft and poofy.
  226. She feels so warm.
  227. Her scent is that of shampoo and perfume.
  228. "Anon I can't believe there are such good looking guys out there who act like this.. And to think, I'd almost given up looking for someone special."
  229. "You think I'm good lookning? Thanks."
  230. "You are. The more I thi
