  1. === General notes
  2.
  3. -In the TCG, card typing is the type their moves are, regardless of energy cost, it's offensive, while in the games, typing is defensive, it defines resistance and weakness, which in the TCG are unrelated to the card typing
  4. -You can thus make the argument that Delta Species Pokémon remain the same type (because they keep their resistances as-is), but have an unusual moveset that is comprised of moves of a different type, or even dual-typed.
  5. -One way represent that is giving STAB to a type outside of the Pokémon's normal typing, perhaps trading the STAB for one of its types for it.
  6. -In cases where only the final evolution is affected, it could go like this: an eeveelution gains Steel type STAB but not the type and accompanying resistances, while Beedrill or Starmie trade their secondary type's STAB for a Steel type STAB
  7. -When the entire line is affected and the final evolution would be dual Metal, the question becomes whether the STAB is treated as replacing a secondary type or the primary, since the secondary type would be replaced by Steel
  8. -If there's no Metal component, I think it could be a secondary STAB even for single-type lines
  9.
  10. -Broad energy groupings:
  11. -Colourless: Normal, Flying, Dragon (pre-G5)
  12. -Grass: Grass, Bug, Poison (early)
  13. -Fire: Fire
  14. -Water: Water, Ice
  15. -Lightning: Electric
  16. -Fighting: Fighting, Rock, Ground
  17. -Metal: Steel
  18. -Psychic: Psychic, Ghost, Poison (after G3)
  19. -Darkness: Dark, Poison (G8)

  21. === Delta Species
  22.
  23. -EX Delta Species
  24. -Lore-wise, Delta Species in the immediate vicinity of the town are apparently caused by the powerful electromagnetic waves of the device on top of the Research Tower, which is being used to scan the surrounding Mirage Forest for Mew.
  25. -Delta Species almost always fully evolved: They gain a dual Metal typing on top of their usual one.
  26. -Pokémon that would be Dragon type in the games, on the other hand, change type on their entire line and then gain the dual typing. Dragonite becomes Lightning type, while Bagon and Larvitar become Fire type.
  27. -Metal type Pokémon are also affected on the whole line, becoming Lightning type (Beldum)
  28. -There's also a Metal/Fire Mewtwo and Metal Eevee
  29.
  30. -EX Legend Maker
  31. -Despite being set in the Mirage Forest directly outside Holon city, there is not a single Delta Species.
  32.
  33. -EX Holon Phantoms
  34. -The Delta Species inhabiting the marshes south of Mirage Forest and the surroundings of Lake Holon may be a result of the strange stone structure in the lake.
  35. -Delta Species affect all stages of evolution, but only final stages can be dual typed
  36. -Most (2/3rds) aren't dual Metal types, Metal type Delta Species become dual typed wit the exception of Raichu.
  37.
  38. -EX Crystal Guardians
  39. -In this island off the shore of Holon, Delta Species seem to be caused by the curious crystals that dot it, and cohabit with normal Pokémon.
  40. -Delta Species are all fully evolved, with the exception of the Charmander and Treecko lines
  41. -Most (2/3rds) aren't dual Metal types, the exceptions are Charmander, Blastoise and Kingler
  42.
  43. -EX Dragon Frontiers
  44. -The eponymous island chain is uninhabited, and filled with natural Delta Species and with practically no normal Pokémon. It may be a bunch of Pokémon that escaped human presence in Holon.
  45. -Delta Species affect all stages of evolution, and there are no dual types
  46.
