Writing a goodbye message is a bit of a challenge: you don't want to leave without saying anything, that's just crass, but you also don't want to make a big fuss about how you've outgrown whatever it is you're leaving, implicitly denigrating all those who are staying in. Therefore, forgive me if this comes off the wrong way; I really hope it doesn't.

Anyway, I'm retiring! I will no longer be creating anything in GD for both the forseeable and the unforseeable future.

If you've been paying attention, you'll probably have seen this coming from a mile away. I really should have stepped down much sooner than this, I was already done years ago.
I won't get into all of the several things that got in the way of my creating career - I'm not here to tell you my life story; point is, it took me an excruciatingly long time for me to see the writing on the wall and call it quits, and I would like to apologize to the three or four of you who still held hope that some day I would release some new masterpiece or whatever.

My original plan was to release Thanks for That as a proper level before shutting down operations; as usual, Everything Else got in the way, and I wasn't able to finish the level. However, since I had already made the layout and started some decoration, I might as well release it as it is. If you want to do anything with it, I literally have no power to stop you.

All in all, I'd say it's been fun. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to call GD the most important game in my life, indeed one of the most important *things* that have shaped me and my life experience over the years. Thank you to all those I met along the way, my colleagues, friends, enemies, fans, haters, all of you.
