Calithon 2018

	If you have the time this weekend to watch Calithon, please do so. Me, Jeff in 3D, and the rest of staff have been tirelessly working to get this event ready for months. This marathon is a passion project for all of us and has taken up a ton of our time in the last few months. In particular this year was a huge struggle for all of us on staff. Last year we partnered with an anime convention so that we could have our event hosted in the same space as theirs without digging really deep into our pockets to make a marathon happen. We thought we could do the same thing again this year and be totally fine, but as it turns out, after their event last year, they decided to completely rebrand and later on reschedule their event to way later this year, causing us to scramble for another venue. This didn't happen until about January this year by the way, and up until that time we were just sitting ducks while this was going on. So a little after AGDQ 2018 ended, we all had to come up with a plan to get this event into place in the end and get it all to work! We had to do an absolute ton of work to get everything together, with the biggest steps being to find a new venue and getting a hotel deal in such a short amount of time, something we've never had to do before and will definitely improve on next year since we'll have more time, but in the end we freaking did it, and we have a KILLER marathon to show for it! We also officially established Calithon as an LLC this year, something we didn't have prior experience with at all, so I'm very happy with that. This way we will be more established in the future as a non-profit and are now capable of so much more because of it! So here's to the future of this little marathon that could that originally started as a small get-together of friends for a weekend of messing around in video games.
