cannot pierce bronze

A second demon rushed through the door , angled right , slammed into the shield wall . Its claws raked across bronze . Spears jabbed out , puncturing the hard black shell . The demon grabbed the center shield , yanked it away , pulled it right off Martin Yates’s arm — the black tail whipped in , the tailspike punched into Martin’s chest .
