- °°°Argia Candente°°° is a young Knight-aspirant under the tutelage of Mastro Ibardo Delebasse. Her family is originally from the Mar da Candéa far to the West, but they are currently stranded on the Landing Strip, the area outside of the Holy Land where most refugees from other countries petition for access to Madua.
- The loss of her family home and her experiences among the lawless world of the Landing Strip have prematurely hardened Argia, giving her a strong sense of determination. Her goal is to become a Knight of Ansàrra, thus winning over passage into the Holy Land to her displaced family.
- This goal is made much harder by the fact that Argia was born with peculiar silver hair, which are considered the sign of a curse in the Holy Land. Specifically, everything that has to do with silver is considered under the dominion of the Stilladìa, and as such Argia has been shunned and sometimes feared by the same people she's trying to be a part of.
- Currently Argia is undergoing a year of mandatory training on the outback of the Holy Land, in a harsh land of hills and forests. She belongs to a group of five people: three other ladies-in-wait and a martial chaplain. They have been recently joined by one of the Blessed Blinds from the Holy Land, and tasked to investigate rumours about a sacrificial well being erected in the area...
- >Update: you now are in possession of one of Carnaval's 'feathers', a knife-length crystal filled with her crimson blood. You still have to understand how to make use of it, exactly...
- °°°Summary of Roll Bonuses°°°
- Skirmish Rolls
- >With Axe: +15
- >With Longsword: +23
- >With Spear/Halberd: +19
- >With Knife: +5
- >With Bow: +9
- >With Throwing Weapons: +1
- Faith Rolls
- >From Saint Bragia's Cameo: +18 (applicable to skirmish checks, every check related to fighting enemies of Ansàrra, petitioning for Sanctions or similar circumstances)
- °°°Equipment°°°
- >Legacy Longsword - Your current weapon is a beautiful metal longsword with its edge cast in tetracerarmide, a refined version of the material protecting your armour. You found it in the roots of the Malostromo. It is exceedingly sharp and can cleave easily through metal or stone. On a combat roll of 97-100, you achieve an automatic success.
- >Bottle of Sacred Oils - A small bottle secured with a tight metal cap. It holds scented vegetable oils that can be used for body purification rituals and to receive the more powerful Sanctions. This is a small bottle that holds up to four uses.
- >Knife - A hunting knife, good in a scuffle but not exactly Argia's weapon of choice.
- >Backpack - Argia's backpack, now lost, used to contain most necessary tools for surviving and exploring such as rope, a tinder-box, strips of fabric, a change of clothes, razor, soap and similar everyday equipment. At the moment you are in need of a new one, but thankfully you shaved your legs very recently.
- >Carnaval's Armor - Argia's pristine tasseled armour is a gift from the Angel of Ansàrra. Light and resistant, made of tetracerarmide tassels, it's impervious to arrows and most blades, very light and comfortable, but it does not help much against blunt objects at high speed.
- >Master's Cape - This oil cloth is about as large as a blanket and comfortably covers all of al Argia's body. It's light, resistant and waterproof. A gift from Master for her one year of outback training, it's one of Argia's most prized possessions.
- >Cameo of Saint Bragia - This exquisite cameo has been carved from the finest ivory. It depicts an image of Saint Bragia Lacresta, one of the two most important Saints of the Faith, and Argia's personal inspiration. Unlike every other votive depictions of Saint Bragia, which are usually holding an axe, in this one she's holding a Morningstar mace. According to Mastro Delebasse, who gifted it to her, this is because the cameo was made during the time of Saint Bragia's lifetime. If that is so, the little treasure would be over 600 years old. Argia wears it on her chest, hanging from a steel chain. The cameo is a symbol of her Faith, of her determination and it comforts her, helping her during her quest.
- °°°Sanctions°°°
- >Sanctions Bonus: +14
- >You have a banked Nat 100 on a Sanction Roll
- Sanctions are the manifestation of the will and blessing of Ansàrra Goldweeper. Unlike the heathen Echorists who get manipulated by the will of ghosts and loathsome Asterites who channel heretic powers of the Night, the Sanctions are /given/, not taken. Sanctions are both permission and punishment.
- As such, the Petitioner has to overcome TWO rolls on a DC to successfully store a Sanction inside her body: the first to see if she can actually have the Sanction granted and the second to see if her body can resist the wrecking effect that the power of Ansàrra Sunbirther has by passing through her body. If the first check fails, the Sanction has no effect. if the second check fails, the Petitioner receives a [Weary] malus (-10 to all checks) until the Sanction has been used and she has time to recover.
- Argia knows the following Sanctions:
- ° Sanction of the Hallowed Horizon - linked to memories of Candeloro, Saint Bragia’s childhood friend and confidante, the builder of the six Eyes of the Sun, blessing the petitioner with hallowed insight. Close your eyes and receive a +36 bonus to your next roll or check. Usable one time per day. Carved upon her back by Soralisa.
- ° Sanction of Daybreak Smite: ignites the edge of your weapon, greatly enhancing its striking power for a single hit. Usable on command. DC to cast: 36. DC to resist weariness: 60.
- ° Sanction of Sunwell Warding: will warn you if a creature comes within a certain distance from you. Very useful for exploring places you have never been before. Lasts for one hour since activation. DC to cast: 32. DC to resist weariness: 48.
- ° Sanction of Searing Blood: upon being wounded, causes a spray of your blood to erupt in a searing burst of hallowed fire. Can be cast on a strip of cloth to be used as a slow-burning torch, in a pinch, or to start a fire. Usable on command. DC to cast: 48. DC to resist weariness: automatically failed upon activation (or 60 if used in slow-burning form).
- ° Sanction of Rejuvenation — A helpful Sanction that speeds up natural healing and stops blood loss, but it’s usually very taxing on the caster and the healed person. Cannot be used on self. DC to cast: 32. DC to resist weariness: 90.
- >After receiving training under Soralisa, Argia has received a +4 bonus on all checks related to Sanctions.
- THE FOLLOWING SANCTIONS ALL REQUIRE SACRED OILS:
- ° Sanction of Searing Castigation — A very powerful Sanction that can be applied on the body. It summons a large burning blade that’s as hot as a furnace, and deals both holy retribution and fiery destruction. No shield can stop this sword. DC to cast: 66. To resist weariness: 66. The blade keeps burning, but each time it is used or maintained for more than a couple seconds the petitioner has to pass another weariness check, progressively harder (first check at 72, each following check +6 to DC). Requires 1 charge of sacred oils.

- °°°Special Abilities°°°
- None
- °°°Rubida Dell'Obertengo°°° is a Lady-in-Wait, currently serving her year in training in order to receive purification. This will allow her to receive great social support once back to her family. She is taking her current predicament as something that she is supposed to do in order to maintain her status. She is a competent fighter, but prefers to stay out of melee. She feels admiration towards Salicera Fors, a sisterly sense of protection over Soralisa, and contempt over Argia. At the moment, your relationship with her is far from amicable, but you can work together in a pinch.
- >Update: Rubida revealed at least some of the reasons why she dislikes you (past trauma related to the Seven Sisters), and has shown she can even grow to trust you. At the moment she's casting the reflected ray of light that allowed you and Salicera to pass through the last wall and face the cultists.
- She has very good equipment.
- Rubida is extremely proud of her long black hair and the colour shade of her eyes; she claims both are proof of the Kiengir ancestry of her family (a ridiculous boast).

- *Virtue of the Weak*: Soralisa receives a +12 bonus to all checks related to Sanctions
- °°°Soralisa da Zaribari°°° is another Lady-in-Wait, but she is experiencing this year on the outback as a punishment. Her melee abilities are pitiful, and she is barely able to use a bow, but she's knowledgeable about the legends of the area. She often clinches to Rubida and Salicera and tends to fall into bouts of panic.
- >Update: after panicking and almost being consumed by a Sanction far too powerful for her fragile human body, Soralisa is currently resting in the Blessed Blind's carriage. She will live, but it remains to be seen if she will ever retain usage of her arms, which have been crystallised by the Sanction's rebound.
- Her equipment is of standard quality.
- She really can't wait to got back home and forget all about this.

- °°°Felice da Selevanda°°° is, unlike his namesake, a very serious man. He's been assigned as your trainer and overseer, but his martial abilities, while significant, are far below those of Master Ibardo, save those with throwing weapons, but Master always said throwing your weapon is stupid, so you do not really care.
- It's clear he wants to be there about as much as Soralisa, and he's only here to receive his retirement a few years earlier. Even like this, he's so far been a dependable and honourable man (even though you doubt he'd try anything with you and especially Salicera on the team).

- >Strong Points: Wisdom

- >Fighting Role: Striker

- °°°Special Abilities°°°
- *Heir to the Tradition*: Master Ibardo is the last heir in a tradition that stretches back thirteen centuries to the time of the conversion of Saint Kishirra, the first Elven believer. He is highly respected in every land that recognises the cult of Ansàrra, and even opposing Powers such as the trading empire of Frigeìa or the Treviri Throne will allow him access.
- *By Higher Will Led*: Six times per day, Master Ibardo can roll twice for every combat action and choose the best result.
- *Strike True and Deep*: The hallowed halberd of black blindglass he bears is the very same weapon Saint Kishirra used to wield. The weapon ignores cover, hardness and can cut through most materials. Hence, even a single combat roll success cleaves against the armour or weapon held against it, breaking it beyond repair. A Kiengir relic, it's an echo of the wonders before the Epochalypse.
- °°°Ibardo Delebasse°°° is your Master. He picked you up when you were just a young girl of fifteen, bloodied and bruised after (that day) in the Landing Strip. You have traveled with him for three years, trained in the ways of the sword, Sanctions and the truth of the Faith. You are his first disciple in twenty years. Something that fills you both with pride and a sense of pressure.
- He's waiting for you to end your year of outback training. In your book, only Carnaval and Ansàrra Herself are worthy of more respect.
