[Synopsis: On a certain day nearing the end of summer holidays Misaki and the girls are racking their brains about their haiku homework however......?]

Hagumi: That's today's practice session done and dusted~!
Kanon: Nice job girls
Misaki: I thought we overbooked our time at the studio but we made a new song so I guess all's well that ends well
Kaoru: Yeah, now all we have to do is enjoy the rest of our summer holiday and wait until the new school term starts
Kanon: But first we've gotta finish all our homework
Hagumi: Oh poop, homework-. I'm nowhere near finished. How about you Mi-kun?
Misaki: I'm getting there. I'm just not making any progress with the haiku homework
Hagumi/Kokoro: Haiku homework.....?
Misaki: What the heck is up with that reaction? The second year's have to write a haiku for their homework assignment don't they?
Kokoro: Do they now. That's news to me!
Hagumi: I may or may not have been listening......
Kanon: Ahaha......
Kanon: But still, it is pretty hard to come up with a haiku on the spot like that isn't it? Wonder if there's anything we can do to help you out?
Kaoru: Oh my? Could it be that you're a pro at writing haiku's or something Kanon?
Kanon: I'm not a pro or anything but we sometimes come up with haiku's in tea ceremony club
Kaoru: So that's what it was! Then let's do that, let's try to come up with haikus together
Kaoru:  And by doing so Misaki,Hagumi and Kokoro might remember something from class
Kanon: Yeah, sounds great! What do you girls think?
Misaki: Sorry for getting you dragged into this. But honestly you'd be helping me out a bunch
Hagumi: Woohoo~!! We'll totally get an A on our homework now!
Kokoro: Yeah we will! By the way Kanon, what is a haiku anyway?
Kanon: Eeh...... You don't even know the basics.......
Kanon: Put simply, a haiku is a 3 verse poem with a rhythm of 5-7-5 syllables
Kanon: I guess there are 2 main unbreakable rules, write it with the 5-7-5 rhythm and you have to include a "Seasonal" word
Hagumi: Seasonal word? What the heck is that?
Kokoro: Maybe it's some kind of special magical incantation?
Kanon: A seasonal word is one that represents the season
Kanon: So if I said spring, you would say sakura or something like school entrance ceremony......When you see those things you think "that feels like spring" don't you? There are loads of those types of things that become "Seasonal words"
Hagumi: Phwoar~! Now I get it~!
Misaki: "Seasonal words" does sounds like a pain in the butt but I don't even know where to start
Misaki: I did give haiku writing a shot but all it ended up saying was "Yep, it's summer-"
Kokoro: Did you? Hnn...... Hey Kanon. Why do people even write haikus?
Kanon: I think everyone has their own reasons but....... I guess it's for stuff like short diary entries or posting to their SNS?
Kanon: It's one way of saving an experience or something you saw during that season
Kokoro: So a diary entry written with a 5-7-5 rhythm, got it. sounds super fun!
Kokoro: Yeah but don't you need to experience the season and see its scenery to make one in the first place?
Hagumi: Beautiful scenery......Hnnn....... So I guess it has to be places like the ocean?
Misaki: The ocean, making a trip there sounds like a pain. Saying that, it is kinda hard to describe the scenery you see everyday......
Kanon: So how about a firework display?
Kokoro/Kaoru/Hagum/Kaoru: Firework display?
Kanon: Yeah, the next town over is holding one on the riverbank this year. I saw some posters pasted up at the station
Kanon: Seems like everyone is talking about how they're launching all kinds of different shaped fireworks this year
Hagumi: For real!? I wanna go~!!
Kaoru: Going to a firework display with everyone before our summer holiday ends. Well isn't that fabulous?
Kokoro: Let's all go there wearing yukatas! That would an absolute blast!
Hagumi: Agreed!!! Alrighty then where and when should we meet~......
Kanon: Girls.......Don't go......Forgetting about the haiku homework.......!

[Chapter 1: Yukata get together]
[Synopsis: Just as promised the girls five girls met wearing yukatas. They start off by enjoying the stalls......]

Misaki: There they are. Oi-! Kanon-sa-n
Kaoru: Oh my, looks like you came with Hagumi
Hagumi: I pick her up at her house so she wouldn't get lost
Kanon: Sorry about that Hagumi-chan. But thanks to you I got here without getting lost
Kokoro: So we're all here now aren't we! Let's hurry up and see the fireworks!
Misaki: They'll be launching the fireworks later, did you forget why came here this early or something?
Kokoro: ? Cause we couldn't wait to see the fireworks?
Misaki: No, we said we were touring the stalls
Kanon: Of course we're here for the fireworks but there are lots of haikus with a festival theme
Kanon: So I was thinking we should probably tour the stalls first and fully soak in the atmosphere
Hagumi: I want a candy apple!
Kaoru: Fufu. And then maybe I'll go for the okonomiyaki
Misaki: Already thrown our plans out the window
Kanon: I wonder if we can visit all of them?
Kokoro: I just thought of something amazing! First we split up into two groups and get all the shopping out of the way! Then we can chill out and have fun!
Kanon: Yeah, sounds great!
Kokoro: Yeah! Alright girls! Let's roll out!
Kaoru/Hagumi/Kanon/Misaki: Oh-!

[30 Minutes later]

Hagumi: Mi-kun Kokoron! Over here!
Misaki: I was wondering how all this would work since it's starting to get crowded but it's pretty quiet over here
Kokoro: Yeah! A perfect spot for a little break
Misaki: Sure is......Huh? Come to think about it where's Kaoru-san?
Kanon: Kaoru-san said she was going to buy some drinks. Maybe the stall is busy or something?
Hagumi: But we told her where we'd be so let's just wait a little while longer!
Hagumi: By the way Kokoron. Something's been bugging me for a little while. That bag you're holding couldn't possibly be full of that......
Kokoro: Yeah! Of course it is, it's full of cotton candy! And the bag is pretty adorable as well isn't it?
Kanon: Is that one of the shopping district's original fluffy characters printed on it?
Hagumi: Yeah it might be! Pretty cool, pretty cool!
Hagumi: Yeah but guess what, I bought something fab from one of the stalls as well~. Ta-da!
Misaki: A bird brooch...... Yeah, that's not bad?
Kanon: It matches her yukata and it looks like it'll go well with the badges she usually wears!
Hagumi: I know right~! Ehehe. I fell love at first sight when I saw it at the stall!
Kaoru: Oh my what this? You're all pretty excited aren't you
Kokoro: You took your sweet time didn't you Kaoru!
Kaoru: I can't say sorry more than enough but......Here's a little something to make it up to you
Misaki: It's......Ramune? And on top of there's enough for all of us.......
Kaoru: Even though the sun has set it's still pretty hot and I'm sure you're all getting parched
Kanon: Woah......Thanks Kaoru-san!
Kanon: Oh yeah, did you know that "Ramune" can be used as a summer seasonal word
Kokoro: Can it? That's perfect for us isn't it!
Kanon: The others are "Yukata" and "festival"....... If you want something more obscure then you can use "Sunglasses" or "Summer lesson" as your seasonal word
Hagumi: Eh, can you!? So you can use stuff like "sunglasses" even though they're not old fashioned words!
Hagumi: So does that mean if I do something like "Kokoron's - Yukata is adorbs - looks great on her!" that would count as a haiku?
Kanon: Yeah but I think you should hand in something a little different....... for your homework.......
Misaki: Ahaha, You wrecked that one so hard you'd just get yelled at
Kokoro: You think? Alright then How's this......"No u, Hagumi- Looks totally adorbs - in her yukata!"?
Kaoru: Fufu, that's a nice one. "We're complimenting - each others yukatas - Oh so fleeting" . Aah, fleeting......!
Misaki: No, they're all train wrecks....... Anyway, you're just saying "Adorable yukatas"
Kokoro: Huh? But aren't our yukatas totally adorable? You look great in yours Misaki
Misaki: Like~ I~ was~ saying~. That's not what I was talking about......

[Chapter 2: Charge into the unknown]
[Synopsis: The five girls are waiting for the fireworks to be set off. While they're waiting Kokoro has spotted something......? ]

Kokoro: Hnn~! That was so much fun!
Hagumi: We went to so many stalls and our haikus are starting to shape up nicely!
Kaoru: It's a sure thing
Misaki: Eh....... I guess I'm still not sure about mine
Kanon: You probably just have to keep at it by coming up with a load
Kokoro: Alright then let's all make loads of haikus for the day!
Kokoro: We're doing loads of wonderful things today aren't we! Coming up with haikus, stalls and fireworks. and then......Huh?
Kanon: What's wrong Kokoro-chan?
Misaki: I'm getting a bad feeling about this......
Kokoro: I wonder what that is? There's like a line of little boats
Kaoru: Oh those, those are pleasure boats
Kokoro: Pleasure boats?
Kanon: So like...... The insides are fitted with tatami matting and you can do stuff like play games and eat meals while looking at the scenery while the boat takes you on a tour
Kanon: I saw on TV that they often do this during the flower viewing season as well.......
Kokoro: Do they? That sounds super fun doesn't it!
Kokoro: Come on girls let's ride one!
Hagumi: Ehh!?
Kanon: What, right now......?
Kaoru: But that might be stroke of genius. you need to experience something new and see beautiful scenery in order to write a haiku and a pleasure boat would be a wonderful experience wouldn't it
Kanon: You're.......Not wrong there......
Misaki: So we're really doing it....... Well, I sensed this would happen anyway
Kokoro: What are you moaning about? Let's get boating!
Kanon: Ah, wait....... up~ Kokoro-chan......!

Kokoro: So this is a pleasure boat...... It's a lot more spacious than I expected
Hagumi: It really is! You could probably fit all our instruments in here
Kokoro: And if we did that we could totally hold a concert!
Misaki: Nah, now you're just being silly
Kanon: But they have a karaoke set as well so you could probably use that if you wanted?
Hagumi: And it says you can do stuff like monjayaki, yakiniku and have a party!
Kaoru: I see, So that's what that table was for
Kaoru: And since we have our own separate space we can get rowdy without any fear of bothering people......
Kaoru: If so then this pleasure boat might be the perfect place for a concert
Kokoro: That's it! Let's hold our next concert here
Kokoro: Then we'll throw a party, we'll fill up our hearts and stomachs and have a smile filled concert!
Hagumi: Nice idea! Sounds like loads of fun!!!
Kanon: Eeh!? Ah but, If you think of it like that time we held a party with a live on that luxury cruise ship......
Misaki: Ah, Now that you mention it that sounds reasonable. but you still gotta come up with a plan to make that work
Misaki: It would be pretty tough with the way we're always jumping around on stage like we do, and then you gotta think about equipping the pleasure boat to handle lives......
Kokoro: Huh, That's where you're wrong! With all this space it'll be A-OK!
Kokoro: First we enter the stage like this don't we? And then I jump in this direction......
Hagumi: And then I crash into the scene like I always do! Don't I!
Kanon: Hyaa!?
Misaki: Wa-! Jesus Christ Hagumi, are you trying to kill yourself or something! You're about jump straight out of the freaking window!
Kanon: You too Kokoro, you'll hurt yourself! And if you keep jumping like that.......!

[Chapter 3: Time for a haiku]
[Synopsis: Following Kanon's advice the girls tackle making a real haiku]

Kanon: Looks like we've settle back down......
Misaki: Jesus Christ....... Hagumi and Kokoro. Do you even know why we came here?
Kokoro: What we came here for......?
Hagumi: Why are we even here?
Misaki: Jesus Christ, you must remember. Put your two big brains together and think hard about it
Hagumi: Hmm, hmmm......Ah! Oh yeah, haikus!!!
Kokoro: Ahh......! Oh yeah, so we were! I totally forgot!
Misaki: You don't say
Kanon: Ahaha......
Kokoro: I remembered what we're here for so let's hurry up and come up with some haikus!
Hagumi: Yeah! Hmm, Now I just gotta remember all that stuff that was said about making haikus ......
Kokoro/Hagumi: Hnnn
Hagumi: How come this is a lot harder than before
Kokoro: Yeah, I can't think of the right words
Misaki: Me too...... You got any tricks up your sleeves Kanon-san?
Kanon: Tricks? ......Hmm...... Alright, how about we look at the scenery and take it in turns to say what we think?
Kaoru: And then the rest of the story writes itself, a strategy to bring forth adequate words
Kokoro: What a great plan! Alright then I'll go first. The breeze feels great doesn't it Hagumi!
Hagumi: Yeah! And the river is all sparkling and pretty, I love me this boat!
Hagumi: And that big boat you invited me on ages ago was so much fun!
Kokoro: I loved that as well! I wonder if the Hello happy phantom thief will pay a visit to this pleasure boat?
Misaki: That's probably not going to happen~
Kaoru: Fufu, She might appear when you least expect it
Kaoru: More importantly...... Take a look to the right of that big building
Kanon: Hmm......! Ah! Is that CiRCLE?
Hagumi: Eh, no way!?
Kokoro: Amazing! Good eye Kaoru!
Misaki: Ah, so that's CiRCLE...... It's kinda strange seeing it from so far away
Kaoru: Yeah, seeing something from a slightly different angle and distance changes your whole perspective of it
Kaoru: I've felt something new all over again. Aah......How fleeting......!
Kanon: Fufu, it really is
Kanon: "On a hot day - A breeze and a chat - my friends voices" How about something like that for a haiku?
Hagumi: Woah! You're so cool Kano-chan-senpai!!!
Kokoro: Let's make our own amazing haikus Hagumi!

Misaki: Then I'll have to give it a shot as well

Misaki: Not just how they're structured, you taught me a few tricks, I'd never be able to do it without knowing this stuff
Misaki: So do you actually come up with haikus every day and not just during club......?
Kanon: Not that often......But I guess I have skimmed though a few books?
Kanon: Tea ceremony and haikus actually have a lot in common
Misaki: Both of them are kinda "Japanesy" aren't they
Kanon: Fufu. They are aren't they
Kanon: You know what, I think that both tea ceremony and haiku's are similar in the way that at times they both cherish the current mood and atmosphere
Misaki: Ah, now that you mention it they both have the image of paying attention to the uniqueness of each season
Misaki: Don't you change the tea ceremony's decor each season or something?
Kanon: Yeah, The flowers and wall scrolls are the obvious ones but we also change our tea making equipment depending on the season
Kanon: Not just for the taste of the tea, also the atmosphere of the room, everything is done to......make the time spent there more enjoyable. All those little details add to how wonderful it is
Kanon: Actually Eve-chan was the one who introduced me to haikus. She said "Tea and haikus share the same spirit"  ......Fufu
Misaki: Ahaha, I can picture her grilling you like that
Misaki: Well, you've convinced me with that explanation. The idea behind tea ceremony and haikus is pretty amazing
Kanon: I know right! Thanks Misaki-chan. I'll tell Eve-chan that the next time I see her

Kokoro: The clouds in the sky are floating around like that cotton candy I had earlier! I based it on how tasty it was!
Hagumi: Cause you couldn't stop talking how tasty that cotton candy was!
Kaoru: Ahh, I'm feeling you. What a wonderful haiku
Hagumi: Yeah yeah! I'm up next!
Hagumi: *Cough*...... " Boating food - The main dish was - Croquettes!" How'd you like that!? Did I do good!?
Kanon: Yeah, Wonderfully Hagumi-like
Misaki: Casually shilling croquettes, I'm not even mad that's genius
Hagumi: Really!? Woohoo!
Kokoro: I'm kinda in the mood for croquettes now. let's get some on the way home!

Kokoro: That ones a smiley face! Amazing! They even have those shaped fireworks!
Misaki: Hey Kokoro I told you not to lean out too far or you'll kill yourself
Kokoro: I'll be fine! Anyway check it out, the next one is coming up!
Hagumi: Woah, amazing!
Hagumi: Hey, wasn't that one like the one when we did the smile amusement park parade!? Round then exploding into glittering sparkles!
Kaoru: Now that you mention it, it was
Kokoro: It was so much fun doing that parade. I'd love to do it again
Hagumi: Let's do it! I'm sure the Amusement park manager would love it!
Kokoro: I know right! Hnn~ I'm already looking forward to it!
Kanon: The girls are all fired up. Fufu
Misaki: Haha...... Well they're always like that anyway
