“Accountant”- how would you feel and what would you do?

35/f. Recently began dating 43/m. Things have been great so far. Really great.

At the end of January, he mentioned getting his taxes done, was meeting with his accountant to do so. Of course no big deal.

The next time we were together he gets a text, I see the name pop up on his wrist / Apple Watch and he says it’s his accountant. I didn’t think twice about it- she must have had a question about his taxes.

Well since then, she has texted him just about every time we’ve been together including at night. This past weekend we went away for the weekend and she texted him while we were having dinner. Not an ongoing text conversation but I did think it was a little weird.

Monday, he says his accountant is coming over. Weird! House calls? So I said I thought that weird. I flat out told him that sounds like a red flag to me, given the texts as well. He said it’s nothing like that. It’s his first year using her for taxes but he also said she’s his friend.

(I’ve googled the name and no accountant with her name comes up anywhere near the city we’re in or the city he said she works in.)

Now otherwise this guy has been great and says he’d never hurt me. But I feel odd about this.
