MHXX Weapon Differences for Longsword

Guild - Base

Striker

- No Run In Slash (R after Fade Slash)
- No Side Fade Slashes

Aerial

- No Run In Slash (R after Fade Slash)
- Can no longer start a Spirit Combo normally from the ground.
- After jumping off of a monster/teammate:
    - Press X for an aerial two-swing attack
        - After landing, you can press R up to three times for Spirit Slashes, where the third is the finisher which raises your Spirit Level if it hits
    - Press R for an aerial Spirit attack (uses some of the Spirit Gauge)
        - If you are White or above, after landing you will only be able to press R one more time, but it's the finisher.
        - If you are Colorless, it will be the same as if you used X in the air.

Adept

- No Normal Spirit Combo Finisher
- No Backstep Fade Slash
- After a successful Adept Evade
    - Press X to do a single horizontal run-in slash
        - Press R once to do two vertical roundhouse slashes, the second of which raises your Spirit Gauge

Brave

- No Blue Aura
    - No Fade Slash
    - No Normal Spirit Combo
- Y has Brave Sheathe
    - Hold down Y to stay in brave stance (drains stamina)
    - X for horizontal run in slash (can combo into fade slash)
    - X+A for fade slash
    - R for spirit run in slash (press R again for triple slash)
- Blue Aura (1.18x boost according to unofficial testing)
    - Can poke, evade, or start spirit combo after fade slash
    - Spirit 1 has a Guard Point (Timing is a little strict)
        - If Guard Point is successful, you can go straight into spirit 3 or reset yourself with rising slash (X)
        - You can unsheathe into guard point spirit 1 by pressing R+X+A
    - Spirit 3 is horizontal run in slash (moves forward if you hold forward while performing the move)
    - Spirit Finisher is the Adept Finisher which can combo into fade slash

Alchemy

- X for normal attacks
- A for Side Fade Slashes (No Back Fade Slash)
- Can't add X or A Attacks in middle of spirit combo
- No fade slash into spirit run in slash
