  1. I'm glad that someone is interested hear.
  2.
  3. the first of all in the top left corner you'll see two blankets that I'm about to sew into one blanket. this is what's called the Great plate or the great kilt which is what a true Scottish kilt is. it's essentially a regular blanket but double long it's twice as long. you can either wear it as a skirt or you can wear it as a shawl around your body to keep you warm or you can use it as a double blanket when you're sleeping.
  4.
  5. not pictured would be cardboard which is what I would be using if I was sleeping on the street but I don't have it in the picture because I'm not on the street. cardboard can be found in dumpsters and many people will donate cardboard to you if you ask and it keeps you off the ground and keeps you off the hard rocks and the dirt.
  6.
  7. just above the blankets is a green bag and this is a $3 plastic bag that I used to wash my clothes in. it works pretty well and it doesn't leave me smelling perfect but it leaves me smelling good enough that people don't complain to me about how I smell and that's enough for me personally compared to just smelling like crap. I think though that I am going to switch from that green bag back to a big plastic shopping bag.
  8.
  9. below my shoes you can see two plastic shopping bags and those are for the express purpose of going to the bathroom if nobody in town will let me use their bathroom or if the bathroom is too far away to walk that way I don't have to go to the bathroom on the street and not pictured are some napkins that I got for free and those napkins are how I take care of business. it's not glamorous and some people wouldn't like to do that but I personally prefer it and find it more dignifying than going to the bathroom on the ground. there's already child and adult diapers and doggie doo doo in the trash so I'm not worried
  10.
  11. I've got my shoes and these aren't the right shoes that I'm looking for but I'm looking for a pair of plastic shoes that are easily machine washable so that I can wash them in my plastic bag. next time going to go for some like knock-off $5 Crocks.
  12.
  13. I've got my jacket at the top of the picture and what's special about this jacket is I got the jacket with the most pockets I could possibly get for the price and having these pockets makes a big difference for me because I don't use a backpack or a suitcase I live out of my pockets. everything that you see in that photo fits on my person. I don't generally have to wash the jacket all that often.
  14.
  15. next is my t-shirt and this is a durable t-shirt for my job that's lasted me a long time. it goes to show you that when the corporations have to pay for your clothes they actually give you clothes that last. I use this shirt as my mask if I need to wear a mask I can tie it around my head as a mask. I use the shirt as a washcloth to wash my body and then I clean the shirt in the plastic bag. it also serves as an ordinary shirt.
  16.
  17. my pants are a pair of ordinary sweatpants that have cargo pockets and the cargo pockets really make a difference in terms of what I can carry with me and sweatpants or what I have found to last the longest. one of my curses is that I always wear holes in the crotch of my pants really fast and sweatpants are the only pants I found that will last me anytime at all.
  18.
  19. that's all of my clothes besides my glasses. I wash my clothes once every two weeks and that's not perfect and some people will hate me for doing that but I think that that's the right sweet spot where if you're not sweating then you can go in public like that.
  20.
  21. up at the top portion of the picture which is kind of hard to see is my Swiss army knife and I use this for so much. I have bad teeth and so I can clean my teeth with the toothpick. it has a pair of tweezers that I've never had to use. it has a flat head screwdriver and a nail file that I've never had to use. it has a small sharp blade. but most importantly it has a pair of scissors that I used to cut my hair with that I don't have to spend money to cut my hair. attached to that Swiss army knife is the key to my trailer and the key to my work.
  22.
  23. above the Swiss army knife is what's called a canteen cup cook kit. it all fits into a small canteen pouch that goes around my neck and here's what's in it. first of all there is a cup to cook food with and to cook coffee with. the meals are a little small in that cup and so I have to cook twice to feed myself which is okay. there's a little metal stove in the kit that's powered by twigs so I don't have to buy fuel or carry fuel I can just gather twigs wherever I want and make a small fire that can keep me warm or that can cook my food. or even clean my water. I can use the ash from wood fire as soap and this is something I learned from talking to poor Africans and poor Romanians and in Africa and some places in Romania that use ash as soap it's actually stronger than soap. that's what I clean my clothes with and that's what I clean my body with and so my kit makes its own soap. there is also a canteen that fits into that pouch so I can carry water and I don't have to pay for water when I go into a gas station because I can get free water from the tap they're legally required to give me water. in addition there is a spork that is my only eating utensil in the whole world and if I lose it I have to eat with my fingers and I have done that before. finally there is a fire starter that just makes Infinity Sparks and so I don't have to pay for lighters in order to light My fire because I can just make these Sparks. so it's essentially a complete cooking kit that has everything that you need to cook food in it and it's very very lightweight and it's made by the military to be a lightweight complete cooking kit so it's very very good.
  24.
  25. on the chest of my shirt is my tablet. so some homeless people have trouble holding on to phones and I understand this however I think it's really worth it if you're stuck meaning if you can't get out of homelessness in the next let's say 3 months it really helps to save up and get a pocketable tablet instead of a phone and I will explain it like this. if you were in a soccer mom's car and you spread your arms wide you would touch both windows with your hands am I wrong? but if you were in a school bus or a city bus and you spread your arms wide you wouldn't touch the walls. but both of those cars fit in the same Lane and that is a trick of geometry they have fit the maximum amount of space into the bus and they actually if you look this up Henry Ford made it a mission to design cars to be hard to sleep in. so just like a trick of geometry can go from a tiny car space to a big bus space a trick of geometry allows you to put a full tablet in most people's pockets and many of these are usable as a phone as well and it's just way nicer and way better when it's your only device to have a tablet instead of a phone and even though it's a little bit more than the cheapest phone I highly highly recommend it. it's really a game changer for when you're living out of your pockets when you have a tablet. if you're interested I also have a video that can double the battery life of a tablet of that size and so you can go twice as long without charging.
  26.
  27. there's also my charger in the photo and I have a long charging cable and the reason why I have a long charging cable is so if I'm at somebody's place it's easier for me to hide the tablet that's charging or else sleep with the tablet right in my arms while it's charging so that nobody can get it
  28.
  29. in the photo is an Altoids 10 for my wallet. and Altoids 10 Fitz cards and cash and ID and the reason why I use it is because you can get one at any gas station and so it's just convenient homeless tech if you can't get a wallet.
  30.
  31. also in the photo is a clear quartz crystal that's worth about $10. this is my only personal item in the whole world. I've given up literally everything to live as close to homeless people as possible so that I can help them so I hope you appreciate that this clear quartz is my only personal item in the world and I understand that some homeless people can't get clear quartz as part of their gear but I have it in mine.
  32.
  33. I could be forgetting something but that's basically almost everything that I own. I'm going to go through some of the stuff that I own in my trailer and try to accomplish everything. so not pictured I have a trash can and a recycle can outside my trailer. underneath my trailer is a pallet that keeps it off the ground and there's another pallet in front of the trailer that acts as my porch and on it is a carpet and a board and a log. outside I have four propane tanks. on the inside of my trailer there's a table that came with the trailer and it detaches but I've kept it. there's a bed that came with the trailer and it has a mattress topper so I don't have to sleep on the gross old mattress and there's also an anime body pillow that I have as a joke to my friends I don't really do anything weird with this pillow but I just find it funny and it was very cheap. there is a stove that comes attached to the trailer so I can't really remove it. there's a sink that just leads to a hole in the wall outside. there is food that I have stocked up in the cabinets and it's literally just beans rice ramen tuna eggs and spices and butter. it's some of the cheapest food in the world and I rarely spend more than $2. in one of the cabinets is a book that my mother wrote for me as a diary when I was a baby and she recently gave it to me and when I finished reading it I'm going to destroy it because I have to give up all of my possessions to help homeless people how I'm doing. there is also a small instrument called the jaw harp that my brother gave me and when I'm done with it I'm going to give it away to someone so that I can live out of my pockets.
  34.
  35. there is a small phone that was my phone several versions ago and I have this phone in case of emergencies and in case I have to take a picture of my tablet so when you see the picture in the op I'm taking it with the other cheap phone that was $30.
  36.
  37. finally as my final possession there is a folder hidden my trailer that has my documents and I'm either going to store this in a safety deposit the box at the bank or I'm going to figure out a way to carry it on my person without having to pack a backpack.
  38.
  39. if you hadn't catched on none of what I've said so far includes a backpack or a suitcase everything fits on my body or in my pockets. and so this documents folder ruins that concept and so I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to carry my documents without getting a backpack.
  40.
  41. this isn't a perfect list for example I forgot to mention a fire hydrant that's attached to the trailer and probably doesn't even work anymore. and I also have a smoke alarm that's attached to the trailer but I've essentially listed everything here
  42.
  43. that's a brief description of my gear and some of how it works and some of the advice that comes along with my gear but there's so much that goes into it that it would really take me a long time to explain how I live. the way that I live isn't exactly homeless because I'm in a trailer but I can guarantee you that if I was on the street with my gear and if I could keep my gear from being stolen or replace it then I would be much more comfortable than the average homeless person currently is because a lot more of my needs are satisfied with that gear
  44.
  45. thank you for listening and if there's any advice that you've seen and hear that you think would be useful for other homeless people please share it with them and if you have any advice that you'd like me to pass on other homeless people please share it with me. God bless you
