- A little background; I'm a senior in high school and still live with my parents. With the quarantine forcing my school to go online my sleep schedule has been awful, staying up crazy late and sleeping in as long as possible.
- I was up pretty late after playing some video games, and I felt hungry. Which was normally fine, but it was 3am. Everyone in my house was sleeping. But I was really craving some soup and a microwave isnt too loud so i figured I'd give it a shot. I quietly sneak into the kitchen and grab the soup, its one of those cups I had to take the metal lid off. Which is surprisingly loud when it's dead silent. But so far everything was good. I put it in the microwave, set the time, and grab a bottle of water. As im sitting watching this cup of soup spin around and bubble, it just EXPLODES. Does a full backflip in the microwave and its just covered in soup on every wall. At this point im quickly going through all the 5 stages of grief before I snap back to reality and realize how shitty this is. Not only am I not going to eat soup anymore, but I have to clean all of this. When I open the microwave more soup just spills out and it's even more of a mess. Fine, whatever, ill just use a metric fuck ton of napkins to clear my tracks. So I start cleaning up this goopy mess of soup and I take out the rotating plate in the microwave and set it aside to clean. I don't know if it was because it was dark or I was tired but I didn't set it down quietly like I meant to. That plate echoed through the whole house, I woke up my entire family. My father thought there was an intruder and ran out only to find me, with a pile of napkins and soup everywhere. He was not very happy with me. I am not very happy with me either. I just wanted soup.
- tl;dr - I wanted soup and got a mess to clean along with a house woken up all in the middle of the night.
