Brooded Longing

Brooding
Ever solitary
Ever beastly
He says rarely
But does often

He comes and goes
His loyalties are chimerical
There isn't much that can be said
But he does express love
Though not to everyone

He knows that he can't be Superman
He knows that he doesn't have the full power set
And yet, that doesn't stop him from hoping
From wishing
From brooding
From trying to see if he can find something else

He isn't a son of Krypton
He isn't a son of Earth
He is both, yet neither
He is but a man
He is but a created specimen

He is friend to those whom he likes
He is enemy to those who he hates
Yet is seemingly indifferent to all save a few

It's not too often that he comes
It's not too often that he goes
He can't always be sure of what it is he does
But in the end
He does know one thing
He is Superboy

A member of Young Justice
A powered being
And he has lived a life
That few people will ever get to live
And in that, he has enough
