  6. Octet was created by the Argonauts before The Fall in the batch of several attempts to create as human of AGIs as possible for better adaptation and integration into Transhuman society. Using (at the time) experimental programming techniques and constructs, they arrived at what they believe was a success. Some of the more experimental procedures caused a disparity amongst the AGI however, introducing a variability and an element of randomness in both their creation (which even extended to their forks oddly enough).

During the beginning of the events of The Fall, Octet and his comrades were locked away in an enclosed simulation, trapped and put on ice to both prevent possible defection and to protect them from the fates the unluckier AGIs suffered down on Earth. They were not released until years after the Fall, each thoroughly inspected and edited to ensure no issues might emerge or have been missed with the more recent standards. As the AGI moved to integrate into a society that has forgotten them, Octet fell in with the paramilitary section of the Argonauts, the Medeans.
