  1. "I reckon I just don't get it Earl."
  2.
  3. "What's that Pa?"
  4.
  5. "I just don't get why you want to fuck a cow."
  6.
  7. Earl frowned and removed his cap to run a hand through his hair. Well, that's one way of putting he supposed. His
  8. father was a compassionate, if... blunt, man.
  9.
  10. "She ain't just a cow, Pa."
  11.
  12. "She got udders, she got hooves, she makes milk." Earl's father shrugged and said, "Seems like a cow to me, son."
  13.
  14. A sigh escaped Earl's lips as he looked out across to the other pasture again. Sitting amongst the blades of grass was possibly the most beautiful creature he'd ever seen. Her name was Dorothy and she had long, powerful legs and strong arms from working out of the fields. Not overly tall, she still possessed a stature and poise that was reflected in her beautiful green eyes. Wind came by and ruffled the blue sundress she wore to which she put a hand up to keep her long, golden hair from getting in her eyes. She smiled when it died down, and it was enough to make Earl's heart skip a beat.
  15.
  16. "See, you're looking at her as if she's a woman, but dangnabit Earl, she's a COW."
  17.
  18. He was partially right, Earl was forced to admit. Despite her lovely smile and fair skin, she possessed some features which distinguished her as more than just human. For starters, from her large hips down was covered in thick, brown hair that ended in cloven hooves. Next, atop her head, hidden in the golden hair were two horns you'd probably see on a cow. Finally, upon her chest were her, well, "udders," though they were just a pair of rather large breasts.
  19.
  20. She was a Holstaurus, a type of Monster with close relation to milk cows. Her family had moved in to the property nearby recently to raise cattle and Earl had almost instantly fallen head over heels for her.
  21.
  22. Another stray wind blew by and Dorothy shook her head before noticing Earl and his father. She waved her hand and smiled to which Earl returned the gesture. His father merely put some tabacco in his mouth and began to chew.
  23.
  24. "I wish you'd be nicer to her and her ma, Pa." Earl said, noticing his father's impassive features. "I reckon I'm going to marry her some day."
  25.
  26. "I just don't know about marrying a cow. Ain't right."
  27.
  28. "You don't think I love her enough, is that it?"
  29.
  30. "Boy, you're eighteen. I think you're more in love with her milk jugs than her personality. But shit, I was a stupid kid too and-" His father cut off to spit his tabacco out. "-I wanted to fuck anything what was cute and had a nice set of udders."
  31.
  32. He sighed and adjusted his hat. "But boy, let me be frank. These Monster types, they make you think you love them, but it's just a game. I don't want to see you get hurt just thinking with your dick, you hear? I don't want you getting hanky panky with her."
  33.
  34. Earl bristled at that and was about to shout at his father and tell him how wrong he was when he remembered that his father still had the old switch in the house and one hell of an arm to use it. Simmering in anger, the boy crossed his arms and said, "Pa, I ain't just thinking about sex. She's a good girl and I'm going to marry her one day."
  35.
  36. His father stared him in the eyes with an unreadable expression before grunting. "Let me make this plain boy. I catch you and her foolin around and I'm running you out, you hear?"
  37. Without any good response to give his father, Earl just fumed and said, "Fine, Pa."
  38.
  39. "Good." His father said before slapping him on the back. "Now help me unload this hay, horses are getting hungry."
  40.
  41. -------------------------------------
  42.
  43. *Tap, tap, tap*
  44.
  45. Dorothy blinked her eyes from sleep and looked over at the window.
  46.
  47. *Tap, tap, tap*
  48.
  49. The sound came again. She frowned for a moment before a smile broke her face and she sat up, clad only in light shift and underclothes. Pajamas were sort of awkward with breasts like hers. Walking over to the window, she looked down to see the face of Earl there, smiling that big goofy smile of his.
  50.
  51. She opened the window to let a gust of cool hair ruffle her clothing. Earl's eyes drifted down toward her breasts and she merely chuckled and whispered, "Now this is rather unbecoming behavior, Earl."
  52.
  53. "Well shoot, I guess I'm just a scoundrel then."
  54.
  55. Dorothy chuckled. "I thought you said earlier your Pa didn't want you seeing me anymore?"
  56.
  57. "He sure doesn't, but did you think that would stop me?"
  58.
  59. "Suppose not. You're not terribly bright."
  60.
  61. The boy smirked. By little baby Jesus did he love that sharp tongue of hers. "Hey now, get dressed, let's go to the barn."
  62.
  63. "I thought boys liked girls who wore less rather than more."
  64.
  65. "Yeah, but that can wait for later, it's kind of cold."
  66.
  67. Dorothy nodded her head in agreement. It WAS a little cold out tonight. Wiggling her hips, she turned about and waved her bovine tail in front of his face, the boy sputtering and waving the ticklish hairs out of his face. Didn't stop him from resting on the windowsill and watching her dress though, something she took a little delight in.
  68.
  69. Once dressed, the two climbed down out of her window and off the roof before heading toward Dorothy's family barn.
  70. The tall grass of the cattle pastures tickled their feet as they made their way, hand in hand toward the red, wooden structure. Pointing toward a bailey, they two made their way up a familiar path before coming to rest in the dark structure.
  71.
  72. Earl fished around in a nearby stack of hay before pulling out an electric lantern and turning it on, casting an aura of light around them. The two had met in this location many times in the past and they had a prefered way to organizing it. Cows made soft mooing sounds beneath them as they worked until finally they both collapsed onto the pile of hay together, bodies pressed up close as their lips writhed passionately.
  73.
  74. Pulling back for breath, Dorothy said, "Damn, but you've got some fire tonight. Your Pa really lit one under you."
  75.
  76. Earl spit and grumbled, "No disrespect but the old fart thinks you're some Succubus come to take my soul or something."
  77.
  78. "Well I mean, I think my Ma said us Monsters are part Succubus or something."
  79.
  80. "Shoot, not you too."
  81.
  82. "Oh hush." Dorothy said, kissing him again. "I ain't going to steal your soul or nothing, that's just a load of bull."
  83.
  84. "Takes on a different meaning coming from someone with hooves."
  85.
  86. She slapped him on the chest this time but let out a little laugh. "Oh I swear, sometimes I wonder why I put up with you."
  87.
  88. "Because you love me."
  89.
  90. "Mmm well, that's one reason I guess."
  91.
  92. Earl sighed and laid on his back while Dorothy snuggled close to his chest. Looking up at the rafters of the barn bathed in the soft glow of the lantern, he should have been happy. Dorothy noticed the way he clenched his jaw and frowned. "Earl, he's really getting to you, isn't he?"
  93.
  94. "I just don't see why he can't approve of us. I mean it Dorothy, I love you something fierce but he just doesn't understand. Way things are going, he won't ever let us be together, even though your Pa is okay with it."
  95.
  96. "We can always meet like this, when they don't know."
  97.
  98. Earl huffed and sat up, hay falling down around him. He slapped his boards of the barn, causing a few cows to let out confused moos. Dorothy calmed them down, letting out sounds that she either learned by working with them or by her nature, something of which she would never tell Earl. As the cows settled down the boy spun upon Dorothy and took her hand in his.
  99.
  100. Determination in his eyes, he said, "Dorothy, let's you and me run away. Let's go leave this behind and get married."
  101. The Holstaur's eyes went wide in shock, her bovine ears pointing up. Mouth working soundlessly, she stared into his expression, thinking it a joke at first. The more she looked however, the more it dawned on her that he was completely serious.
  102.
  103. "I...I..." She began before tears formed in her eyes. "Oh shoot, now you put me on the spot! Dangit!"
  104.
  105. "Dorothy, I love you and want to spend my life with you. This ain't no joke."
  106.
  107. "Oh I know it's not a joke you idiot!" She said, nodding her head. "Dangit, I ain't got no reason to say no you big oaf. Guess that means I gotta say yes!"
  108.
  109. The two embraced before kissing again. Her hot tears rolled down her cheeks, mingling with their kiss. She pulled back against, wiping at her tears. "You don't even have a ring and I'm still crying."
  110.
  111. "Shoot, I knew I forgot something." Earl said. He looked about and took a piece of hay, bending it and forming it into a ring. Sliding it on her finger, he said, "It ain't much, but it'll do for now."
  112.
  113. Dorothy could only chuckle and lay her head on his chest. "So what do we do now?"
  114.
  115. "I reckon tomorrow we get all our things and meet back here before heading out. I'll take my truck and we'll be off before anyone knows."
  116.
  117. "Oh, what will I tell my Ma and Pa?" Dorothy asked.
  118.
  119. "Same as I'll do. Leave them a note." Earl said. "He'll never find ou-"
  120.
  121. Earl's words were cut out as the door to the barn was thrust open, moonlight filling the barn. Scared and confused cattle made quite the noise as a figure stepped into through the doorway, switch in hand.
  122.
  123. "EARL YOU DAMN LITTLE PUNK! I TOLD YOU NOT TO SEE THAT DAMN COW AGAIN!"
  124.
  125. "Oh shit." Earl said, fumbling for the light. It was too late however, his father already seeing the telltale glow.
  126. Dorothy clutched Earl as the boy stood up, ready to face his father. From a ladder nearby he heard his father climbing and a moment later a furious face appeared followed by the rest of the man.
  127.
  128. Pointing the switch at his son, the man said, "Get your ass over here so I can beat it, boy!"
  129.
  130. "God damnit Pa, why can't you just leave us alone?"
  131.
  132. "I don't have to explain myself to you, you ingrate." He pointed the switch at Dorothy. "You let him go and back off right now. I don't want to hit a lady, but you're a damn cow."
  133.
  134. Earl stood up straight and brought up the frightened Dorothy with him. Putting a hand around her waist the boy stood tall before his father and looked the strong, weathered man in the eyes.
  135.
  136. "Pa, I love you and respect you for everything you've done for me, but I won't leave Dorothy. I told you before that I'd marry her and she said yes Pa! We're leaving this whole damn place together and you're not going to stop us!"
  137.
  138. "Oh like hell I will boy!" His father said, grabbing Earl's wrist. "You're coming with me right now."
  139.
  140. "Now don't be so hasty there." A new voice called.
  141.
  142. Earl's father froze and turned around to see a loaded shotgun pointing at his face. Blinking in surprise, he looked up to see the smiling face of an man similar in age, wearing bedclothes and holding the gun like he knew how to use it. The man smiled and said,
  143.
  144. "Now I thought I'd have some thieves or high school punks in my barn, but I never thought it would be my own neighbor causing mischief."
  145.
  146. "Dangit Carl, get that out of my face." Earl's father said, pushing the gun aside. Carl gave way without resistance, his point made. "Could have blown my head off."
  147.
  148. "Well shoot, given that you were about to beat my daughter, I figured I have the right to it."
  149.
  150. Earl's father grunted but didn't dispute that fact. Carl nodded his head and looked over at the young couple. "Now I know you two get into a little hanky panky up here every now and again, but you mind telling me why your old man's in such a fit?"
  151.
  152. "He said he ain't going to let me see your daughter no more, sir." Earl said, giving his father the stink eye.
  153.
  154. "Huh. I thought you loved her though?"
  155.
  156. "He does!" Dorothy said, clinging close to Earl. "He even said he was going to marry me."
  157.
  158. "Shoot, proposal in the cow barn? Ah, that brings back memories." Dorothy's father chuckled. "Of course, wish I'd be told ahead of time. Your mother is going to love this."
  159.
  160. Both Earl and Dorothy stare at the man with stunned expressions. Beside them, Earl's father says, "These damn kids can't just go off and get married, Carl!"
  161.
  162. "Why not?"
  163.
  164. The man sputters, "Just because you stuck it in a damn talking cow doesn't mean my boy is going to!"
  165.
  166. The barn grows quiet at this, everyone staring at the angered man. Everyone except for Dorothy who's bovine ears twitch. "Wait, why're the cows quiet?"
  167.
  168. Surprised, Earl and her father look about to see another form climbing up the ladder. The face of a mature woman with long, blonde hair and small cow horns atop her head appears followed by the rest of her voluptuous body. The older
  169. Holstaurus clops onto the landing and planted her handed on her hips.
  170.
  171. "What in tarnation is going on here?"
  172.
  173. Carl chuckled and pointed toward the young couple. "Seems like Earl finally proposed to our Dorothy."
  174.
  175. "Well no shit? Finally took you long enough boy." She smiled at him and wiggled her ears. "You get her a ring?"
  176.
  177. "N-Not yet ma'am."
  178.
  179. "Aww well, he didn't get me one at first either." She says slapping her husband's shoulder.
  180.
  181. "How are all of you so damn calm about this?" Earl's father said, looked flabbergasted. "You're just going to let
  182. this happen?"
  183.
  184. "Well shoot, why not?" Dorothy's mother asked. "Kids been lovin each other for months now, figured this was going to happen."
  185.
  186. "But he, but-"
  187.
  188. "But what?" The older Holstaur said, leaning forward to expose a large swathe of cleavage. "Didn't I hear you went and got married when you was eighteen?"
  189.
  190. The man blushes, "Now that's different-"
  191.
  192. "How come?"
  193.
  194. "She's not a damn Monster for one!"
  195.
  196. Dorothy looked to her mother with a hint of hesitation, her hand clenching on Earl's arm. Her mother merely stood up straight and folded her arms under her breasts. "So what?"
  197.
  198. "S-so what?" He asked. “Beggin your pardon, but you’re not human!”
  199.
  200. “And what if your wife wasn’t human, huh? Would you have not married her when you was his age?”
  201. Earl’s father paused then, a look of consternation on his face. “That’s different-“
  202.
  203. “Like hell it is, if your wife was the same woman but with a bigger set of boobs and more booty, you’d love her even more, yeah?”
  204.
  205. “Listen, I- I…” The man fumbled over his words before scratching his head. “I don’t right know. Dangit, my wife is my world but it’s…”
  206.
  207. “It’s what? You think she’s a bad influence?” Dorothy’s mother asks
  208.
  209. “Course not, she’s got good grades at school and helps out on the farm.”
  210.
  211. “You think she’s just seducing your boy?”
  212.
  213. “She could do a lot better than him.”
  214.
  215. “Hey!” Earl began but is cut off by Dorothy who shook her head.
  216.
  217. “Then what in tarnation are you doing making a damn racket in the middle of the night scaring my cows for?”
  218.
  219. “I… I…” Earl’s father’s shoulders slumped. The switch in his hand fell to the floor as the man visibly sagged. “I don’t know. Maybe I was afraid my boy was making a mistake.”
  220.
  221. “Do you really think that?” Carl asked, pointing to the couple.
  222. Earl’s father looked up to see the two holding hands and standing defiant, yet nervous before the man. He let out a long sigh and rubbed between his eyes. “Lord have mercy on my soul, I guess I don’t.”
  223.
  224. “Well alright then.” The older Holstaur said. “Can we please go back to bed?”
  225. Carl stretched and put his hand around his wife’s waist. “I think that’s the best idea everyone’s had all night.” She giggled as he raises his eyebrows at her, to which Dorothy let out a groan.
  226.
  227. “Alright.” Earl’s father said. “Come on boy, let’s get back to the house.”
  228.
  229. “Why don’t you run on ahead.” Earl said, smirking. “I’m sure Ma is missing you. Besides.” He turned to the Holstaur next to him. “I need to escort my bride to be.”
  230.
  231. His father raised a finger before shaking his head and muttering, “Kids these days…”
  232.
  233. Even he joined in on the laughter that ensued.
