- A week late on this one because I didn't know what to write, but this past SGDQ was definitely my favorite. Thanks to everyone who made it a special experience, especially those I hung out with a bunch during the event (rook, puzzle general, 5:30am burger king enthusiasts, etc.).
- I thought how stuff was situated in and around the hotel was nice, especially food options. I'm not a picky eater at all so eating at, e.g., Coffee & Bagels day after day was no big deal. The main issue was cleanliness in the hotel, which plenty of people complained about. I'm also not a fan of the pool and its heavy chlorine odor.
- Undoubtedly, I had my two best GDQ runs this time: 18:57 (retimed) for Goof Troop, 49:06 for Kirby's Adventure. Thanks GDQ for accepting both these runs!

- Goof Troop started out as sort of an empty promise--I told Forky that I'd learn the run with him back in SGDQ'16 before I had ever really seen the game. I think we barely got a sub-22 during that week. Besides a chance meetup later that year, we didn't see each other again until AGDQ'18, where we recorded the 19:14 that got us into this GDQ. We pushed our console PB down to 18:28 at SGDQ.
- For the marathon run, we enlisted the help of authorblues and johncarls, who did an awesome job on commentary. I have this great Goofy hat (https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/xEQAAOSwm9tZyF9w/s-l1600.jpg), but I made the stupid choice of wearing an orange sweater because I was ultra warm in the stream room, especially during the interview.
- The run went well overall (probably the best RNG we've gotten in a run), but there were a few large mistakes from the both of us. I'm glad that we got to be there for the million and for Vulajin "firing" sumi. Thanks Forky for introducing me to the game and for putting up with my desire to grind the game at various GDQs.

- KA 100% went extremely well, without any major mistakes. I definitely met my goal of beating the AGDQ'14 any% run (52:28). The things I'm most happy about are the 4-4 UFO mix and the Dedede manip. While I think I've eliminated really long pauses in my commentary, I still have too much filler (e.g., "...and so..."). I wish I added a few more explanations, but it's more important to defer to donation reading once in awhile.
- It feels improper, but I probably wouldn't have revisited this game, especially not 100%, if it weren't for the GDQ acceptance. Ultimately it resulted in a nicer personal best for me (48:56: superior category, cleaner run, original hardware, new strats tested using everdrive, etc.) and far and away my best-executed marathon run.

- When people asked what my post-GDQ plans were, I just said something like "uh, I don't know, KA for awhile probably" because Rescue Rangers 2 was a big question mark. Luckily the rubber bands with two dogbone controllers worked well enough and I've been having a lot of fun with the game. I'd still like to improve on KA but I'm a little burned out on it at the moment.
