  1. I’ve seen DrTChops,Werster, and SuccinctAndPunchy do similar things so I decided to make my own
  2.
  3. (Getting the long list of Outlast PBs out of the way):
  4. 100%(41:03.56,42:29.60 w/ loads): As I said with my src run comment: This run was cirBlech. I know I can do so much better given my skill level. I’m aiming for a low 40 no loads before SGDQ 2017 submissions happen
  5.
  6. No OoB(39:58.58,40:38.65 w/ loads): If I had to pick a favorite of my 2016 Outlast PBs,it would for sure be this one. No OoB was the first category I picked up with Outlast, and alongside 100% was(and still is)my favorite category of the game as it has that restriction of not doing OoB glitches but still shows off some cool tricks, which makes it a good entry category. Shortly before Tirean’s run at ESA16(which is a very good watch btw),the Female Ward Skip was found and made sub 40 possible for the category. I did one run p much the same day it was found that got it first try,but was still an awful run(41:58 w/o load times). My time got bopped very quickly by all the top runners(finath, deathcruiser, and the god andyrockin). Since I considered myself to not really be able to get to the level of skill(and therefore as low of a time)as these guys had,I thought I wouldn’t be able to get sub 40. Sure enough, such a run happened 4 months later in early December. Since sub 40 was my final goal for the category,I pretty much retired from the category then and there. My 39:58 is extremely close to finath’s PB(39:24 w/o load times),so I may come back to claim 4th place. This and my Any% PB are good examples of my current skill level at this game.
  7.
  8. Any%(9:23.19,9:28.61 w/ loads): While on vacation in Florida I decided to learn Window Skip and do Any% runs with it just for the heck of it. To my surprise,I both mastered Window Skip seemingly immediately(keep in mind how tricky the sidehops are for it),and within the first run I did with it, I saved 20 seconds off my old 9:55. I decided(again for the heck of it)to try and get sub Mattmatt, which would require 9:23.8x or so or below. Within the next few attempts, that ended up happening. Sub 9:20 is not out of the question, but will be very hard to meet, given the fairly new method for the window skip.
  9.
  10. Glitchless(53:27.74,53:34.86 w/ loads): As much as I like to meme about Glitchless,it’s a fun and good entry category like No OoB is. I don’t think I’ll get obsessed with this category like Prawnik Kappa,so I’ll take any small PBs I get with each completed run.
  11.
  12. 100%(Glitchless)(1:01:02.86,1:01:11.68 w/ loads): Glitchless version of 100% I decided to try out since I thought it would be fun. This is my first run,so sub 1 hour no loads should be fairly easy.
  13.
  14. Whistleblower No OoB(25:11.04,25:43.32 w/ loads): What was originally a fun category is now awful thanks to the Groom Skip. It’s not that I don’t like the skip(I do think it’s really cool we’re able to skip the huge groom cutscene now),but it’s such a frustrating trick that I decided to drop the category once I got this run to avoid the frustration I knew I would have trying to get a low 24. Chance of coming back to get that 24 is slim.
  15.
  16. Whistleblower 100%(17:20.41,18:08.51 w/ loads): When I got my 19:04 in Feb. 2016(on Valentine’s Day as a matter of fact OpieOP)I thought that run was as perfect as it could get,and it couldn’t go any lower except for maybe 18:4x. Andyrockin proved me wrong,as he found new save+exit strats that allowed him to crush my record by 2 minutes. I promptly learned those new strats, and managed to get a time that was less than a minute off the new record of 16:22 no loads. I may come back to get a 16:5x since there still some mistakes made in my 17:20,but I’m not sure.
  17.
  18. All Chapters(17:50.39,18:28.87 w/ loads): Did 1 run with newer strats including window skip and the new version of male ward skip. My interest for the category pretty much died in lieu of hundo and No OoB,so I’m fine with this run.
  19.
  20. Any% All Chapters-except-Prison(17:36.68,18:22.21 w/ loads): Meme categories are the best
  21.
  22. FAC%(4:13.75,4:25.90 w/ loads): Memes
  23.
  24. WTH%(13:28.22,13:43.86 w/ loads): Even more memes
  25.
  26. Any%(no camera)(10:36.93): Can’t get enough of these memes
  27.
  28. Whistleblower Any%(no camera)(13:11.20): This is were the memes go too far
  29.
  30. (Outlast PB list done)
  31.
  32. Outlast 2 Demo%(4:01.05): Bhopping in Outlast cirPrise
  33.
  34. Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 100%(7:39.39)(WR): EHEHE
  35.
  36. The Maitre D Any%(9:39): Short speedrun I picked up briefly as my own memegame. Has potential for an entertaining GDQ showcase
  37.
  38. Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water - NG+ Easy(3:35:48): Came back after an almost 1 year break, and destroyed my Nov. 2015 PB. A metric crapton of silly mistakes were made,so 3:32:xx should be easy when I get around to running this again.
  39.
  40. Pokemon Gold/Silver Any%(55:02): Fun run to do,but a bad time still,I don’t know about improving this due to new emulator rules(and I’m not shelling out a bunch of money for a gamecube,a game boy player, and a capture for just 1 or 2 games).
  41.
  42. Pokemon Yellow No Save Corruption(33:18): No plans on improving this despite being 3 mins off the record because of the insane Gengar luck I got
  43.
  44. Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire Any%(Omega Ruby)(3:39:45): Not technically a full run since I split it over two seperate sessions.
  45.
  46. Pokemon Diamond Any%(1:11:34): Bad time, but mainly due to pre-Roark encounter luck and being bad at tweaking. Times will plummit once I learn the no encounter movement and get more consistent at the oreburgh tweak
  47.
  48. Pokemon Black Any%(3:39:49): Decent time, but 2 deaths(each to Elesa and Clay). Waiting to improve this further until I get the manip setup on my DS capture, same with my other DS Pokemon runs.
  49.
  50. Super Mario Bros Deluxe Any% Smallfire(5:38): Smallfire is literally cheating
  51.
  52. New Super Mario Bros. 2:
  53. Any%(27:33): Nothing went horribly wrong, but I may improve this with a slightly faster powerup route
  54.
  55. Warpless(50:40): Happy with this since it is deathless, may go for 49:4x,which is where I’ll stop with this category.
  56.
  57. Super Mario 3D Land:
  58. Any%(1:03:27): Got this run out of nowhere while on vacation in Florida. I did baby strats so I can improve this to a low 1 hour with faster strats, like the 8-2 autoscroller skip
  59.
  60. 100%(6:13:23): Really fun category that I rarely do due to the length of it. 3 minute blunder at the end because I thought you needed the gold flag as both characters on that level. Sub 6 def possible for me.
  61.
  62. Among the Sleep:
  63. Any% version 2.0(22:28): Short fun horror speedrun that became a little less fun thanks to a glitch being patched that allowed for skipping the intro chapter. 2.0 is slightly faster due to a 2.0 exclusive clip in ch 1,but I prefer 1.3.2 because grabbing chairs for chair clips on 2.0 is awkward.
  64.
  65. Any% version 1.3.2(21:58): Decent time considering it would be 18:58 approx. without the ResidentSleeper intro.
  66.
  67. I am Bread Bagel Race(7:45): All toasters toast...bagels?
  68.
  69. Lastly is SGDQ 2016(not a speedrun PB,but I’m putting it here ;P): It was good overall. It was my first time attending a GDQ(which was one of my dreams as a gamer),and I got to couch for a run for the first time as well, which was Eevee’s NSMB 2 Any% run. The run turned out decently with a lot of funny moments(firework memes carrying over from the NSMB DS run that was right before it,and dead battery jokes starting at the 25 minute mark). I met/saw several people in person there(which was pretty cool),those people including: Eevee,dunk2001,Chrism,P4ntz,Bounceyboy,Bramz,TonesBalones,PangaeaPanga,ExtraTricky,RedFalconGames,Nospimi99,SniperKing19,Yogithemaster,Raysfire,Vespher,altabiscuit,Shenanagans. I have 2(small)regrets about my experience there, mainly being that I was very shy and wasn’t very social while there. I want to fix that at this year’s SGDQ.
  70.
  71. So overall, speedrunning for me in 2016 turned out pretty well, particularly in Outlast. 2017 is looking pretty good as well, with Outlast 2 coming out soon(hopefully sometime in January)and that game having potential for glitchy OoB-related tricks, new speedruns(I’ve already learned Deus Ex with several others I’m considering),and ofc SGDQ 2017 coming up,which I really hope to get a run in for.
