  1. //Server Idea//
  2.
  3. "Legend-Scape: The Ultimate Battleground"
  4.
  5. (A.K.A. project Guthix)
  6.
  7. Project Guthix will consist of a series of overhauls to th current Legend-Scape that will revolutionize RSPS forever. The major concept fits the following description:
  8.
  9. -Two factions (Saradomin/Zamorak, Raiders/Berserkers, whatever)
  10. -Two worlds
  11. & -One Pvp (No item loss, no skill training)
  12. & -One Eco (Item loss, skill training, bosses)
  13. -Both worlds write to same character data [requires special methods]
  14. -Two home cities (alt. Use castle wars bases as homes), one for each faction
  15. -Monthly "Wars"
  16.
  17. To expand, a server would be set up. To make separate worlds, I believe all that is needed is a duplication of server files and a change of duplicate's listening port. On each world, you'd have essentially the same things, but in the standard non-PvP world, players could only attack enemies of they were in enemy territory. If they switched to the PvP world, all areas would b marked like wilderness. Furthermore, with each kill in a streak, EArning PotentiaL and team score (monthly) goes up by higher numbers. Similarly, as you kill in the PvP world, the acceptable range of attachable players widens, make the player more vulnerable.
  18.
  19. EP would lead to drops, or to individual redeemable credits for store items. Faction points count toward that month/war's score. The winning faction is rewarded with speci supplies and rare gear.
  20.
  21. We would need to look at a way to synchronize character saves to both sets (DropBox maybe?), evaluate player combat handler to adjust wilderness rules and locations, investigate anti-cheat methods.
  22.
  23. Let me know your impressions! I can held code thing if you choose to pursue this idea!

  25. Jordon helped me to parse out the details, and flower expressed general affinity for the idea. ttyl
