- TL;DR: I didn’t sleep much, showed up to work, and puked all over the floor in front of my boss
- Today was my first shift at a popular American coffee chain that America runs on. Because of the virus I’ve been out of school, so I figured I’d pick up some hours at a shop here to save money for next semester.
- As many of you may relate to, my sleep schedule has been all out of wack since this whole stay at home thing started. I’ve been up later and sleeping in a lot. Well, my first shift was today from 8am-12pm, and I stayed up until 4am. That was my first fuckup. The second was not eating before work. In fact, before work I felt nauseous but chalked it up to being exhaustion from staying up too late. That, combined with the intense heat of the ovens and wearing a mask all piled up to result in the worst first shift you could possibly imagine. I puked all over the floor at my boss’ feet.
- Luckily we’re laughing about it now and I’m coming back on Monday, but damn. This is definitely one of the most embarrassing moments of my life.
