  1. I feel like a lot of this debate is an exercise in seeing how much rhetoric can make up for a lack of an argument. Like, sorry man but if you say "Blaziken is ridiculously faster than Doomguy" and then you link me a 20 second clip where Blaziken weaves out of the way of 3 attacks that weren't going to hit him anyways I'm not actually like, obligated to believe this. I will use my eyes and my peepers and determine that this is insufficient evidence for the claim, much less that it's "ridiculous".
  2.
  3. Similarly, when I'm told that Blaziken will "definitely open" with a melee attack, and the evidence provided for this is "they opened with melee in this One Linked Fight wherein the opponent was Close Enough To Punch and there was No Reason to open at a range" it's like, I don't know man. I think it's entirely plausible that Blaziken can shoot flames at a guy who's really far away if it would make sense for it to do so.
  4.
  5. > Side-note, what gets me here is that this isn't even the best argument that could be made. Pokémon know a maximum of 4 moves, and as shown in the fight being linked 2 of those are melee ("Sky Uppercut" and "Blaze Kick") and the 1 projectile move used ("Overheat") is one that damages its own user and lowers their attack power for the rest of the match. There's a good reason for Blaziken to avoid using projectiles that just like, isn't mentioned at all.
  6.
  7. (Well, okay, the counter to this would be "Blaziken also has Fire Spin", but that's not my problem)
  8.
  9. Ultimately, ****I think r s wins**** just because Slayer has better feats. I'll grant that I don't think "10 kilotons of Argent energy" like, means anything (both because "of Argent" is an obvious attempt to sidestep OOT'ing whilst also making the comparison useless anyways- Blaziken doesn't use Argent), but I don't think it really matters. He has a big gun that can shoot people from really far away.
  10.
  11. I suppose that Gold kind of responds to this by saying that Blaziken is "not “bullet time” fast" but that he isn't "helpless against Doomguy's projectiles", but this is kind of confusing in that it makes me wonder what it is Doomguy's projectiles are supposed to be if not super fast bullets. I suppose you could say "the distance gives Blaziken enough time to respond", but at no point is Blaz's speed quantified in a way that would make this argument something that could be extrapolated. If Slayer opens fire from 100 meters, can Blaziken respond in 66 milliseconds to dodge? Would he even *see* the bullet? It doesn't seem like it, at least, and no attempt is made to evidence this outside of the aforementioned "He can dodge at the speed of Pokémon".
  12.
  13. To quickly address a couple remaining arguments
  14.
  15. 1) I think "bullets are Steel-type" is creative but ultimately a nothingburger (Blaziken's interactions with quote unquote piercing moves are already against things he has a type advantage against, and he still clearly Gets Hurt) (also the bullets are tungsten, not steel)
  16.
  17. 2) "Slayer can punch non-cracked rocks, as evidenced by enemies not glowing in cutscenes" is like, a non-sequitur. I don't believe the cracks are there because of demon magic that made them especially crackable, but they're obviously visual indicators that "this thing can be broken, as opposed to all the other unbreakable things". I don't think this *mattered*, in that blowing up a bunch of stone with your hands is still "good" even if the stone is "fractured" (and also in that the wincon is "bullets"), but I don't think this was a good counter-argument.
  18.
  19. 2.5) Also, in the future, I think r s should like, link actual screenshots from the game. I'm not going to distrust the Wiki but it is kind of "unprofessional" to link secondary transcripts of lore entries for your own character lol.
