  1. 100% Forbidden Memories FAQ
  2. ----------------------------
  3. Q: What is 100% in this game? All cards? Isn't that impossible? Fuck you dude.
  4. A: In the non-japanese version, there are only 689 cards that are able to be shown in your library (out of 722). This run aims to obtain them all, and unlock all duelists on the free-duel screen.
  5.
  6. Q: What makes a card "obtained" and why are some cards greyed out in the library section?
  7. A: In order to get cards to show up on the library screen, you must either have the card (by winning or buying it), fuse the card, or ritual summon the card. Greyed out cards mean that I do not have the actual card but I have either fused it or ritual summoned it at some point, which counts the same towards completion of the game.

  9. Q: Why doesn't this run get the cards that costs 999,999 starchips? That is technically possible, right? This isn't ACTUALLY 100% then, RIGHT?!
  10. A: Let's do some math. A fairly solid or even perfect duel is roughly 2 minutes. Each perfect duel will give us 5 starchips. Rounding up to 1,000,000 starchips needed, we do (1,000,000 / 5) * (2) to find out that obtaining one of these cards would take 400,000 minutes. Which also means 6666.6... hours, or 277.8 days. Not including loading screens or any stop in gameplay. Oh, and a lot of these cards exist. So, no, it isn't technically possible for one human to get ALL of the 999,999 cards, because it would likely take more than one human lifetime. This IS actually 100% because, in speedrunning at least, 100% is DEFINED by the community running it. And we have DEFINED 100% to mean obtaining all 689 cards, so therefore, for this game, this IS 100%.

  12. Q: WOW YOU'VE BEEN PLAYING FOR THIS LONG STRAIGHT?!
  13. A: No. This category is only done in a segmented setting, not what you are used to (which is RTA, or real time attack). This means that I start the timer, I play for however long I wish, then I stop the timer when I am done, come back to it whenever I feel, and start the timer wherever it left off. No one would run the category otherwise. Plus, it means I can do other things in between 100% segments, like Any% races and such.
  14.
  15. Q: When will you be back to 100%?
  16. A: I typically do not stream on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. This is due to school/work/social obligations. Typically, Saturday is normal FM Any% for me, and Sunday/Monday are 100% days. This is subject to change, though. But that is generally the groove I have been getting into and enjoying.
