“See? Look, that last move – the Kiku – where I caught the sword against my back – is not supposed to work that way. It’s used for catching a long sword, but the idea is to work your arms and elbows against your back to harness leverage – and snap the blade in half.”
Shichika acted out the strange ballet.
“But it didn’t even bend. Did my training fail me?”
