Also the pronouns can be changed to whatever gender and sexual preference, to make it suitable for everyone. I am not a native english speaker, so if there is wording, that feels weird or unnatural to you, feel free to change it. I appreciate you making it your own.
- *emphasis*
- [phrasing suggestions/instructions]
- (contextual notes)
- ***********Context************
- Your character is an emergency physician, that picks up a patient on the street, after they had a car accident. Almost miraculously they aren’t injured. You are taking care of them and checking their state. The patient is unconscious at first but regains their consciousness. Back in the hospital you are staying with them, although your shift is over. You don’t know why, but you feel a special connection with them. The listener (patient) in the meantime went through a life-changing event, that widened their perception. And you are playing an important role in their new reality.
- The first scene on the street, asks for a professional tone. Like a medical professional that checks the state of the patient and communicates it to the colleagues around. The dialogue with the listener (patient) could be performed in a caring tone, with some nervousness here and there, because it is an unusual and surprising situation for you.
- ***********SCRIPT START**************
- (On the street, after accident happened)
- Hello, my name is [self-chosen name]
- I am your emergency physician.
- You have been in a car crash,
- and I am going to take care of you now.
- Can you please open your eyes for me?
- Patient is not responsive to speech.
- I am going to touch you.
- Patient responds to touch stimulus,
- with untargeted defense movement.
- Patient’s airway and breathing is intact.
- I am going to check your pulse now.
- Patient has an accelerated heartrate.
- Recap-time is fine. How is the blood Pressure?
- Good. We’ll have to check him on internal bleeding and fractures, though.
- OK Patient’s eyes are… beautiful…
- Sorry, I mean pupillary reflex is intact.
- How’s the blood sugar?
- Good. I can’t see any obvious injuries, pelvis is fine.
- They are stable for now, I don’t need to intubate,
- let’s get them in the ambulance and to the emergency room.
- Yes? They are waking up?
- I’m coming.
- Hey [gentle]
- You are going to be fine.
- I am taking good care of you.
- If I am your guardian angel? [chuckle]
- I’ll take that, but you can thank me later OK?
- Just try to stay calm, we are getting you to the
- next emergency room.
- Are you in pain?
- OK I’ll give you some meds.
- [chuckle] If this is a dream?
- I wish for you that it was sweetheart, but don’t worry.
- I am here for you.
- (change of scene, now at the emergency room)
- We are at the emergency trauma room now,
- we are going to do a full body CT-Scan.
- No, no I am not going, I am staying with you.
- My shift is anyway over now,
- I won’t have to go on the road again.
- Don’t be afraid, for now everything looks fine.
- You feel dizzy?
- Oh…ok..ahhm..no I don’t mind holding your hand. [nervous chuckle]
- Actually your touch feels…kind of familiar.
- Oh you fell asleep again, it’s probably the meds kicking in.
- What is it about you?
- My heart is pounding, my belly is tingly and…
- this warmth around my chest.
- Okay okay, focus [self-chosen name].
- This is your patient and you have to take care of them.
- Alright, the CT is fine.
- Colleague, can you help me transfer this patient?
- They are stable, but the accident was bad,
- so we need to monitor them for two days at the ICU.
- Thank you.
- Yes my shift is over, but I’ll stay for a bit.
- We could not reach any of their family and friends.
- Yeah yeah I know… I won’t stay for too long.
- But there is something about them… I just need to do it.
- (change of scene, now at the ICU)
- You-you are awake?
- How are you? Any pain?
- That’s good. We checked you thoroughly,
- you seem to be fine but if anything bothers you,
- let us know, okay? You are at the ICU now.
- That…ahhm, that is just the infusion needle.
- I think the liquid is already all in your body,
- so I can detach the bottle for you, wait a second.
- I just lean a bit over you like this… there you go…
- oh, oh your eyes are so piercing…and deep.
- Do- do we possibly know eachother? No?
- [laughter] maybe from another life?
- Listen, maybe we need to check you again.
- It seems as if your head is injured, after all [chuckle]
- You were gone for quite a while.
- Do you remember anything?
- There was a guardian angel.
- Alright, how did it look?
- It had the same hair as me? The same lips, as well?
- The same voice even? What did it say?
- That it loved you and it’ll protect you.
- It seems as if you really are protected, sweetheart.
- Most people would not have survived this,
- and you don’t even have a scratch.
- I am very happy about that.
- You are grateful the accident took place? Why that?
- Otherwise you wouldn’t have met me.
- Are you aware that you sound,
- as if you lost track of reality?
- Well, what is reality? That’s a really good question.
- Why I am still here, though my shift is over?
- Ahh mhhhm [shy giggles] yes I am blushing,
- thank you for pointing it out, that helps a lot. [ironic]
- I just felt like I needed to stay.
- So maybe my reality also extended, beyond my shift at least.
- No I don’t usually do that for patients.
- Hey, since we were talking about reality.
- Did your accident-experience give you a new
- perspective on reality?
- Wow I see, what is it that is important to you now?
- Love, Unity, Truth.
- You seem pretty clear about that.
- I have to admit, those are not the values,
- which are setting the common reality, we live in.
- But when you say that, it radiates from you.
- I can feel it, what you say.
- I never met such a person, before.
- You think that I did? How would you know that?
- Because you are talking about...myself?
- Look, I don’t know what’s happening right now…
- but I don’t know what to do.
- And not knowing what to do,
- that is a doctor’s worst nightmare.[laughing]
- Just…just hug you?
- [surprised]
- Okay…okay …mhhh..it feels…like… home.
- I just won’t try to understand it, okay? [laughter]
- I have to go sweetheart, but I’ll be there again in the morning.
- You take care that you are resting, alright?
- Have sweet dreams, my lovely dreamer. [really gentle, maybe even whisper?]
