  13. Appearance: Being based on Sun Wukong from Journey to the West, Monking Mode resembles a muscular, humanoid monkey with orangish-brown “fur” and a prehensile tail. Monking Mode’s forearms take a comically swollen appearance similar to Popeye’s arms and he has three golden hoops/rings wrapped around his wrists, ankles and the tip of his tail. He wears a headband similar in appearance to Sun Wukong’s crown, a red jacket with a fur collar, a pair of puffy red pants and a golden belt. He also has a red, X-shaped marking on his chest similar to a scar and Fusion-X’s iconic visor-like eye.

  15. Powers and Abilities
  16. - Vitality Manipulation: Monking Merge has the power to channel and manipulate his own Vitality, also known as “fighting spirit”, allowing him to do many amazing things such as greatly enhance his physical attacks and combat, execute special Vitality-enhanced martial arts techniques, augment certain qualities of himself such as strength, speed, durability, senses, endurance, reflexes etc. and project his Vitality into a wide variety of powerful projectile attacks of pure energy such as beams, balls, discs, bullets, breath, shockwaves, vortexes and more. The more Fusion-X trains with Monking Merge Mode, the more Vitality he builds up in his system, making Monking Mode more powerful and unlocking more techniques and abilities as well the more he trains.

  18. - Vitality Arts: Also known as Vitality Techniques. By concentrating his Vitality in a certain way, Monking Mode can execute one of five unique techniques that gives him special and often very powerful supernatural abilities known as Vitality Arts and a considerable edge in battle as a result. These Vitality Arts require training and practice to use them to their fullest potential. Normally, Monking Mode can only use one Vitality Art at a time but with enough training and practice, there are actually two Vitality Arts that can be combined, these being his Empowerment Arts and Nature Arts.   20. - Martial Arts Mastery: Monking Mode is one of, if not Fusion-X’s most proficient hand-to-hand combat specialist to date, having natural, masterful skill over a unique form of Martial Arts that combines aspects of many combat styles, most notably Savate, Capoeira, Taekwondo and Monkey-Style Kung Fu and his combat skills become greater with sufficient training and practice.

  22. - Food Empowerment - Monking Mode derives both energy and strength from whatever he eats/drinks and can instantly refuel on Vitality and strength just by eating something as a result. Bananas and banana-based foods are shown to especially power him up.

  24. - Monkey Mimicry - Due to his resemblance to a monkey, Monking Merge possesses many of the traits and attributes associated with monkeys such as levels of strength, speed, jumping, leaping, reflexes, senses, flexibility and acrobatic abilities far above a human being, enhanced climbing, and prehensile feet and tail as well.

  28. - Monkey Staff: Monking Mode is armed with a red Bo Staff tipped with two golden balls at both ends that he uses with incredible skill, speed and strength in battle and can double it’s length on command to extend it’s reach.

  30. - Banana Peels: Humorously enough, Monking Mode is armed with banana peels that he can use to make opponents trip and slip around and gain an advantage over his dazed adversaries.

  33. - Observation Arts: By concentrating his Vitality into his eyes, Monking Mode can heavily augment his senses to the point of developing a “sixth sense” of the world around him, allowing him to sense the presence, strength level and emotions of other people, predict the actions and intentions of others, allowing him to perceive and promptly counterattack enemy attacks and even a sense of Clairvoyance as he can perceive multiple outcomes/events at once, essentially giving him the ability to see into the future, albeit multiple possible futures that are all equally possible.

  35. - Communication Arts: By concentrating his Vitality in his ears, Monking Mode gains the “universal language” that allows him to not only understand any language in the universe but also gives him the capability to communicate with and understand virtually anything whether it be people, animals, plant life and even concepts that have their own “voice” such as the wind or the waves of the ocean.

  37. - Empowerment Arts: By concentrating his Vitality into his muscles, Monking Mode will heavily augment his physical strength to such an extreme degree that he more resembles a heavily muscled, humanoid gorilla than a monkey and possesses strength great enough to lift and throw an entire large-sized mountain with relative ease and physical strikes so great that one punch can level a small island, his durability and resistance to attacks is also heavily enhanced, Nicholas refers to this state as Ape Mode due to his gorilla-like appearance while using this technique.

  39. - Domination Arts: By concentrating his Vitality into his heart, Monking Mode can bring out and exert his will as a concentrated force onto others, allowing him to literally mentally overpower and overwhelm others with wills weaker than his, this allows Monking Mode to do things such as induce crippling fear onto entire groups of enemies, cause enemies to instantly lose consciousness, cause enemies to lose their will to fight, completely drain enemies of their energy, nullify/reflect most incoming attacks with Monking’s will alone etc.

  41. - Nature Arts: The hardest to learn and eventually master out of all the Vitality Arts. By channeling his Vitality to make it radiate around his body like an aura of energy, Monking Mode can then convert his Vitality into one of ten different Elements that are associated with nature, these being Fire, Water, Ice, Wind, Lightning, Earth, Plant, Metal, Light and Darkness as well as additional Nature Arts that are unlocked in the future, these being Crystal, Magma, Poison, Acid, Gas, Sound, Nuclear, Space and Time. From there, Monking Mode can manipulate his “Elemental Vitality” as freely as he could with his regular Vitality, projecting it to a wide variety of elemental attacks, enhance his attacks and physical combat with the power of the elements etc. As mentioned before, Empowerment and Nature arts can actually be used together and be combined to give Monking Mode new forms of transformations known as the “Elemental Apes”, transforming Monking Mode into one of fifteen variations of Ape Mode that embodies an element and possesses godlike control over said element, the power enhancing qualities of Empowerment Arts effecting the Nature Arts as well!   82. Weaknesses
  83. - Limited Energy - Monking Mode is a high energy Merge Mode with a high abundance of Vitality that grows with training but that doesn’t mean his energy is indefinite, Monking Mode drains himself of his Vitality when he uses his Vitality-based attacks and techniques, the especially powerful ones uses up more Vitality to execute and draining enough of his Vitality will leave him too tired and fatigued to fight. Also, Monking Mode can’t fight forever, the longer a fight goes on, the more Vitality he uses up to stay in said fight and he can eventually start to wear down and lose his edge.

  85. - Vitality Arts Drawbacks - All of Monking Merge’s Vitality Arts will induce a considerable debuff/drawback once they’ve worn off. Observation will induce temporary blindness, Communication induces temporary deafness, Empowerment makes Monking Merge temporarily frail and weak, Domination temporarily makes Monking Merge cowardly, Nature Arts induces a status ailment related to the element he used (Burn for Fire, Paralysis for Lightning etc.) and the Elemental Apes will induce both drawbacks of Empowerment and Nature Arts once he has transformed back.

  87. - Sensitive Tail - Monking Mode’s tail is his weakspot. Hitting or even grabbing his tail will induce immense pain and instantaneous paralysis to Monking Mode.
