- "Okay," Silver said coldly. "Just stand there and let him beat you to a pulp."
- Mike settled into a fighting stance. It was a perfect setup for a sweep. Daniel swung his leg into motion and gave it everything he had, but Mike shifted his position, swinging his own legs out of Daniel's range. It knocked Daniel off balance. Before he could fall, Mike charged him and grabbed him by the shirt and belt and rammed him into the nearest wall.
- Mike only gave Daniel a second to recover, then he attacked again, punching him mercilessly. "You're doing this to yourself," Mike said.
- Daniel answered with punches, but they were easily blocked. Mike tossed him across the room like a pillow. He landed near the door. Stumbling, he tried to reach it, but Mike chased after him and tossed him back into the dojo. Daniel waited for the next blow. It didn't come. There was a stunned silence in the dojo.
