Hello! I am using this opportunity to communicate my personal dissatisfaction with the Recommended Character system as well as clarify and explain some details that I believe can be mended. I am writing this to appeal 2 of my reccomendations (In January and February 2021) as I believe that they are unsatisfactory and do not fulfill what I have paid and asked for, as well as discuss something about the reccomendation process that I strongly disagree with and has not been discussed to the extent that I think it deserves.

The first reccomendation that I would like to dispute is Tropical Virtual Pet Lizard. I recommended him on January 1st, 2021 (https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/569235314086772748/905056343981965352/Screenshot_20211102-072857_Patreon.jpg). In it, I asked that it to be modification of the character I had previously recommended, Virtual Pet Lizard wearing clothing, recolored to blue, and to be given a tail that I believe was wrongly omitted from the original version. In the original post, I said that I wouldn't mind some details being omitted, but I feel like that only the bare minimum was met and not much of an effort was made to be faithful to the original image provided. Taking a look at the original asset(https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/569235314086772748/905061223501025351/TVPL.png), it appears to be a rather hastily made recolor via a filter or transparent blue layer. The tail WAS made, but it was in a shade of green (not blue to match the actual body tone), which unfortunately blended into the background of the actual character roll in the episode. This is disappointing. (https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/569235314086772748/905059222218227712/Screenshot_20211102-074108_YouTube.jpg) While I do wish that this recommendation should be redone, it doesn't seem feasible and I can settle for a refund.

The second recommendation didn't even make it to the episode, and thanks to another in my opinion, clumsily timed announcement, a completely different character ended up in the episode instead. In February 2021, I recommended Camera's Younger Sister. (https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/569235314086772748/905056344837607454/Screenshot_20211102-072758_Patreon.jpg) The following month, it was announced that the Jacknjellify Patreon would be paused. There was no initial indication that Recommended Characters from March would be taken, so I assumed that they would continue and I recommended Mari. (https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/569235314086772748/905056344430743613/Screenshot_20211102-072710_Patreon.jpg) BFB 30 was later released on April 9th and in the meantime, it was clarified that there would be no March recommendations at all, meaning no Mari. Okay, that's fine. BFB 30 later releases on April 9th, and not only to I see the underwhelming delivery of Tropical Virtual Pet Lizard, but Camera's Younger Sister is completely absent, and I instead see Mari, who wasn't even recommended in February, and I had made no indication that I had wanted Camera's Younger Sister to be replaced by Mari in the episode in Mari's recommendation post. Again, Mari was recommended under the assumption that there would be March recommendations, which wasn't the case, but he ended up replacing Camera's Younger Sister dispite the fact that Mari was not made as an "alternate" or replacement for the February recommendation.

Lastly, I would like to touch upon a part of the recommendation process that while in hindsight did not go very far, is something that I feel to be gatekeeping of information. BFB 16 contains a character that was recommended known as "Meatball". Upon further inspection of Meatball in the officially released .fla files of the BFB 16 recommended character roll, people have discovered that Meatball is not an original scratch made asset, but one that is reused from the unreleased BFDIA 6 recommended characters. (https://battlefordreamisland.fandom.com/wiki/Unused_or_unseen_content/BFDI_-_IDFB#Meatball_by_rj3ful1) Later on, I voiced on the Jacknjellify Patrons Discord server that I think that we deserve to have the original promised BFDIA 6 flas from the Back 2 School Bad News video (https://youtu.be/lmztIveVd9Y) to be released, and pointed out that members of Jacknjellify had access to these files. I later discussed this on the aformentioned Discord server back in July of this year, and Satomi Hinatsu had confirmed my suspicion that members of Jacknjellify had access to these files (https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/569235314086772748/905067006749970432/Screenshot_20211102-073450_Samsung_Internet.jpg) , and Satomi had stated that she had the intent to continue using these unreleased files for future recommendations. I have many problems with this personally. For starters, I feel like that this is gatekeeping of info that has been previously promised to be released to the public, as the BFDIA 6 recommended characters FLA was one of the dozens of FLAs that were promised to be publicly released in the Back 2 School Bad News video alongside a Cake at Stake FLA. Having these previously unreleased and sought after pieces of BFDI Media being kept and used if someone manages to recommend a character who just so happened to be someone who placed in the top 25 for BFDIA 6. Secondly, this isn't an originally created asset. Multiple people criticizing the recommended character system of BFB have pointed out that some of their characters are directly lifted from another episode or are modified versions of existing assets (e.g. SourBoy's recommendation of Waffle in BFB 30 (https://twitter.com/2020Grassies/status/1454187183292751878?t=qlj5K1S7Ia89HlPjbOeXYA&s=19) and Yoshi's Studios recommendation of Yoshi Egg being a green recolor of Eggy (https://twitter.com/YoshisStudios_/status/1454195061395185672?t=fA5iOIQaMUY-K0rGMNdR0A&s=19) and are upset with them, myself included. Lifting unreleased assets and masquerading them as new is something I see as incredibly dishonest. Lastly, I would like to stress for the public release of the BFDIA 6 recommended characters assets to all. Not only was this promised to be publicly released 5 years ago now, but I believe that in the spirit of doing recommenders justice after not having their recommendations properly fulfilled, the people who designed, made up, and shared their characters to Google Moderator and rightfully had their characters win deserve their characters to be given the spotlight they were robbed of due to the demise of BFDIA 6. Nearly all of the Recommended Characters that were recommended for IDFB 1 appeared in BFB 2 regardless if they won or lost, why isn't it the same for the BFDIA 6 recommended characters.

There are a few other characters I have recommended that are unfaithful to their original image such as Roller Coaster from BFB 16 missing their arms and not having each train car being alive, and Pomegranatey from BFB 15 having arms despite that not being a feature of the original character, I am willing to forgive these mistakes as they're incredibly minor. I would like to close this by saying that this was a learning experience for all of us, and that while we have made many missteps along the way, I do not believe that there was any ill intent regarding recommendations. I believe that in the future, we can have a more specific and less broad. In the future, I am happy to monetarily help Jacknjellify again, but I believe that each and every recommender has the right to a fair and equal treatment of their contributions.
