- I need help. My best friend in the world is a woman, she has a husband and i don't really know him well. We're aquantainces. Me and her though, it's 100% platonic, there's never been an attraction, we never even kissed. Sometimes i got a little physically affectionate, hugging and maybe hair stroking but i'm like that with most of my friends, just how i was raised. But that's it. There's never been any flirting or anything. I never hit on her.
- Now, she confided something in me, a couple weeks ago. She told me that she's been having an affair and to promise not to tell her husband. I didn't know what to say. I kept her secret. She wouldn't tell me who though. This morning i got a phone call from her, she said her husband saw some texts and evidence that she was cheating. When he pressed her on it, she told him that she was cheating on him with me. I don't know why, she said she blurted it out.
- I have no clue why she'd shift the blame to me. I have no idea who she's really cheating with but it must be someone really bad. I guess i'm easy to blame since i have sort of a casual bachelor lifestyle, i don't really date seriously, i just hook up from time to time. Apparently he's mad. I haven't heard anything from him.
- Should i call him and explain to him what happened? Or just ignore it?
- tl;dr - My best friend had an affair, husband found out and insteado f telling him the truth about who she's seeing, she lied and said it was with me.
