Somewhere Warm

>Filthy Rich and his workers just kept chopping down the trees
>Fluttershy knew that her animal friends needed someplace to live
>It didn't take long for the bigger animals to take the cottage for their own
>She had never seen the animals so angry and rude
>She assumed having their homes cut down would do that to them
>With the furry animals safe in her cottage she knew she needed to turn her attention to the butterfly's
>She would never admit it, but they were always her favorite
>Their timid nature, the bright colors and the clumsy grace of their flight always appealed to her
>But even they were upset
>They needed someplace warm to rest for the night
>The cottage would be too dangerous for them, and the woods were too bare to protect from stiff gusts of icy winds
>She was becoming flustered and had to close her eyes tight to keep from crying
>She was just about to give up when she felt one of butterfly friends land on her closed eye lid, she smiled peacefully
>The smile quickly gave way to pain induced shock as the butterfly's razor sharp probuscus pushed through her eyelid and into her beautiful teal eye
>She began to scream, swatting carefully at her face, not to hurt the malicious insect, but to shoo it away
>The butterfly held strong, even curling it's straw like appendage in her cornea, splitting open the eyelid and pulling out a chunk of eye
>The Pegasus began to scream louder still, her throat beginning to burn
>It didn't take long for the butterflies to follow their brother in the assault
>They began to swarm her eyes, following the example of the first attacker
>Splitting the eyelids of their beloved caregiver and scooping out her eyes
>The Stare would never be seen again
>Once her eyes were covered other began flying into her open mouth and down her raw throat, stifling her sobs and begs of forgiveness
>It didn't take long for the butterflies to find her lungs and begin to lay eggs
>It didn't take long for them to burrow their way into her skull and begin eating
>As Fluttershy faded out of this life she didn't waste her waning energy on hatred
>Ever loving was the yellow Pegasus, she only thought of how grateful she was that her favorites had somewhere warm to sleep
