- Guidelines for ZSR Videos:
- Here are a few recommendations for making videos for ZSR specifically. They are not rules, rather take them as advices.
- 1) A ZSR Video should be uploaded to youtube (makes embeds easier)
- 2) Every trick optimally has a showcase video and one (or several) tutorial/explanation videos.
- 3) Because ZSR is a wiki, avoid self-promotion in the video itself. For tutorial or explanation videos, you can be asked to be credited on the ZSR pages themselves (if it wasn't done automatically). I will not reject an awesome tutorial video because it has self-promotion, but avoid anyway.
- 3) The showcase video optimally should only show off the game and the games sound (no voice-over, no facecam, no splits). It shows the trick done as optimally as possible at the time of the video-making. It is done on the HD version of the game (SD videos will be taken in case there is nothing better). Cheats used mid-demonstration should also be avoided, but will be accepted in cases where they speed up a demonstration significantly (think of the restore position cheat instead of a superswim when the video is not about superswimming), or for other good reasons.
- 4) Tutorial videos = good. These can have voice and/or text. I would still avoid an unecessary facecam but it's not that big of a deal.
- 5) If you see a video on ZSR that does not follow these guidelines, then it's probably because there is currently no video that's better!
- You can at any time make a video to replace an already existing one. And we will replace it if it's a better video (more optimized, better quality...). That's what we want to see!
