  1. I get it. Making Art is a very lonely activity. and it's not quite often enough that it is something that we get to engage with and explore socially. When among other artists, one should expect and receive a base level of respect from their peers with regards to intent, technique, the verbs involved, the level of self expression, etc.
  2. Derision in the form of standoffishness, unwarranted competitiveness, critique lacking in constructive content, do more harm in the long term and not just to the person in question, but to others occupying the space. many can be indirectly effected by these actions. Bringing in unnecessary factors as they relate to how one may approach their own work, or even pollute exchanges with others in the same kinds of conversation. It can be extremely isolating. in an activity that itself already requires some small level of isolation, it should have no place.
  3. With regards to my statement. As someone who should at this point be well past getting over having a chip on their shoulder for being laughed at about their art. I should be more conscious of that. I am deeply ashamed of what I said. I don't like it when other people do it, it makes me think less of them. So I shouldn't have done it either. I would have liked to have passed blame, claimed that person deserves it for the things they've done, and continue to do. But I was never taught to observe the work of others in this way, and being around people who do so, or seeing people do it on social media, or any other possible excuse is not valid for suddenly starting to do so.
  4. It will not happen again.
