Afterwards, his fortunes began to change as, after participating in Dietrich's rebellion, he managed to acquire a new fiefdom, which, in contrast to his native holdings, was full of bountiful soil. He fell out irrevocably with the leadership of the order sometime after the crusade, which let him begin scheming to replace the order in Greifswald. To accomplish this, Albrecht had arranged for Dietrich to become Count of Grünwald, from where he still rules. He has proven himself a capable ruler and military commander, who successfully organised a rebellion against the order.
