- Route 24 for Oddish? Low encounter rate on 25 sucks
- Koga before Erika if your bird could get outsped? Then X Attack x2 to guarantee Vileplume
- Aerodactyl for Erika? Teach Fly, 3-turn fight
- Get Mimic early if trading Nido-M? So can fill up for Sabrina
