1. He can absorb much larger amounts of energy than Kevin can (more on the same level as Feedback).
2. He can create constructs out of energy and DNA as well as matter. Absorption Merge can do the same thing that Skurd can do with DNA.
3. Absorption Combat is a big difference. I don’t think Kevin has ever demonstrated being able to combine his absorption powers with his physical strikes has he?
4. He can redirect matter as well as energy, such as firing off shards of metal from his body after absorbing/mimicking said metal.

I’ve also been thinking of adding the ability to create Vortexes of Draining Energy from his hands that allow him to absorb energy from a distance. What do you think?
