  5. Currently #118 | 626 Points.
  6. As of 22/10 04:23 GMT 00:00
  7.
  8. Useful Lingo:
  9. WR= World Record
  10. TWR= Tied World Record
  11. PB= Personal Best
  12. Train Shot= A glitch/trick involving shooting the train to open doors early
  13. Slapper= Cosmo slapped the damn screen
  14.
  15. * Why/How do you use 2 controllers?
  16. By plugging in two N64 Controllers and selecting a 2.x scheme. As of writing this, Cosmo is using 2.4. The reason for this is so he can shoot the screen that appears in an opening cinematic. One controller is used for looking and aiming, and the other controller is used for everything else (shooting, weapon swapping, doors, and strafing)
  17.
  18. *Why do you keep resetting at the beginning of the level.
  19. There are a total of 3 opening cut-scenes, one of them shows a screen, Cosmo will always reset to get this opening. This is required for Objective B completion at 00:47 pace, in which you must destroy the screen and 2 mainframes. The reason the cut-scene is important is that, by using a 2.x control scheme he can shoot during this opening, allowing him to shoot the screen earlier than intended. This trick saves roughly 3 seconds.
  20.
  21. *Why do you reset mid run?
  22. Most of the time because of a failed objective or just knowing that the run won't be of an acceptable time.
  23.
  24. * Will you do controller cam?
  25. It's unlikely, Cosmo has said it might be difficult. Occasionally he holds them up to show how the two controller layout works.
  26.
  27. * Why do you look down?
  28. Looking down reduces lag and increases framerate. The N64 renders less objects when you look down and results in a small but essential time save.
  29.
  30. * Why do you look up and shoot the train?
  31. The "train shot" is a trick used on Depot where a shot is fired though a part of the train that has no collision, allowing the bullet to pass through to attempt alert a guard inside the train, resulting in them opening the doors before Cosmo gets there meaning he doesn't have to. This saves roughly 2.5-3 seconds.
  32.
  33. * Is 00:46 possible?
  34. 46 is possible, however very unlikely as it relies on a number of fairly random factors. Boosts from guards etc (Taking damage resulting in a boost in the direction you're moving. Boosts can be detrimental if in the wrong direction). It also requires a high OCB and familiarity with the level and controls that not many players have at this point.
  35.
  36. * Why do you keep replaying the same level?
  37. In order to get a certain time, mainly because this is the time required to get the maximum points from this level & difficulty in accordance with http://www.the-elite.net/ 's ranking system.
  38.
  39. * Where is your timer?
  40. For Golden Eye speed runs, there is an overall level time that appears on the end of level stats screen that is used to time each run. Therefore a timer isn't needed.
  41.
  42. * How does the-elite's ranking system work?
  43. The rankings work like this: WRs are worth 100 points, a second place time is worth 97 points, and a 3rd place time is worth 95 points. After this, the numbers go down consecutively (94, 93, 92, etc.) until 0 points. If an untied WR is achieved, it is still worth 100 points, it just causes other people to lose points.
  44.
  45. * Will you run anything else tonight/in the future?
  46. For the moment Cosmo is running Golden Eye. However he has mentioned Smash 4 for the WiiU soon and also Zelda OoT All Dungeons possibly around Mid December in one of his Golden Eye streams.
  47.
  48. * Do you still run Wind Waker?
  49. Cosmo isn't planning on running WW or WWHD any time soon, as he has stated.
