- >You arrive at your house a few minutes later, with Scootaloo following behind you on her little scooter
- >You open the door and she darts inside before you even have a chance to invite her inside.
- >hehe inside, she came inside… kek
- >Damn it Anon, keep your mind on the situation!
- >You head inside and close the door.
- >Scootaloo is resting happily on your specially made couch.
- >Your whole house was made to your very specific specifications.
- >It was much larger than most pony homes, and you liked it like that.
- >The bed in your room was almost queen sized and the shower in your bathroom was made with your height in consideration.
- >The refrigerator was packed with lots of goodies that ponies would never have in their house.
- >Everything from raw beef to bacon… oh god you were happy to have bacon!
- “Are you hungry?”
- >You asked, partly because you genuinely worried for her help, mostly because you wanted a chance to put your full story together for her in your mind.
- >”I wouldn’t mind a salad if you don’t mind…” her head hung a little low.
- >It was obvious to you she was feeling ashamed she need a hand out.
- “One salad, coming right up!”
- >You shout, causing her to jump a little bit, making you smirk.
- >She glares at you for a moment than laughs at your antics.
- >Good job Anon, you have broken her tension, now to show her you actually care.
- >You head inside the kitchen and get to work on her salad.
- >The Ponies that stocked your kitchen had the forethought to make sure you had lots of pony friendly food in case you had company.
- “If you want to take a shower, there is a guest bathroom upstairs and through the hallway on the left!”
- >You hear an affirmative noise from the living room and the soft clop of hooves as she made her way upstairs.
- >You finish with her meal, a mix of lettuce, spinach, carrots, and a dandelion garnish, and begin the construction of your own dinner.
- >You didn’t want to shock her too much so you weren’t going to cook that steak you got from your favorite griffon butcher, such a nice guy, and decided to finish off the nice quiche you had yesterday.
- >Right as you got done warming it back up, Scootaloo came downstairs.
- >She looked much better now that she was cleaned up.
- >Her pinkish-purple mane was now clean and free of knots.
- >Her tail was straightened out and no longer stained with… god knows what it was stained with.
- >Her orange coat was no longer matted and covered with mud and, other, things.
- >You had to admit, she looked very pretty like this.
- >You had nothing against ponies, you even had a few flings that didn’t work out, but you have yet to find that one pony that is truly special to you.
- >You gesture for her to sit at your table and she picks a specially made spot for ponies.
- >It was essentially a bench that was higher off the ground than usual, and allowed for ponies to eat in comfort at your table.
- >You take a seat and the two of you relax and eat dinner.
- >She seems happy to have some real food in front of her and you were happy to provide.
- >Ever since you started working for Vinyl, money was not a problem.
- >”Anon, I wanted to say thanks… for everything, nopony has ever been this nice to me in a while…”
- >You had to admit, it stung you to hear that you were the first to offer her basic hospitality to her in a long time… it made you angry.
- >But that was in the past, you were here to help now… and that’s just what you were going to do.
- “It’s no big deal… I am just doing what everyone else should have done a long time ago.”
- >”Well I don’t care about them, I care about what you did, and you helped me when I couldn’t even help myself… so thank you!”
- >She was very earnest with her words and her emotions shined like the sun in the sky.
- >If you were angry before about the other apathy towards her, you were furious now.
- >Tomorrow, you were going to find out why all the hate towards her you decided.
- “Well, you are very welcome. I have lots to spare where you have none, it’s only fair that I help you out in your time of need.”
- >She frowns for a moment and replies, “But… you don’t even know me. Tell me, why do you even care?”
- >This was as fickle a pony as you have ever met.
- >One moment thanking, next moment interrogating.
- “Truth be told, I have no clue. I generally have no idea why I do anything. I just deal with the consequences, good or bad, when I can!”
- >She gives you a curious look, like she had never heard of someone living that way… she probably never had.
- >”But that’s crazy! Everypony has a reason for doing what they do!”
- >You had to admit, for a prostitute, this mare was pretty smart.
- “Oh I do, I just haven’t figured out the reason I helped you yet… it’s just a big a mystery to me as it is to you!”
- >She seems content with this answer, but gives a huge yawn.
- >She tried to hide it, but you could clearly see she was tired, and to tell the truth, you were getting sleepy as well.
- “You look like you could use a real good night’s sleep…”
- >”No! Not until I hear the story you promised me!”
- >Her face was adamant, there was no changing her mind.
- “Fine, but as soon as I am done you will go to bed… yes?”
- >”Are you… offering me a place to stay for the night?”
- >Her head was down, but her eyes looked to you hopefully.
- >It was so cute that, even if you hadn’t been planning of having her stay, you would have offered.
- “Yes, but not just for the night, you will be staying with me until you get back on your feet, or hooves, whatever turn of phrase you enjoy most.”
- >She smiles so widely, you could have sworn her muscles were screaming, and there were tears in her eyes.
- >It brought a few tears to your eyes seeing a pony so happy just from such a simple act of kindness.
- >Tears of sadness.
- >You pick her up and give her a hug, trying to bury this sadness with something happier.
- >She returns the gesture and the two of you enjoy a companionable moment with the other.
- >Finally you stand up, still holding her and walk upstairs to the guest bedroom.
- >It was a quaint affair, simple but elegant, and perfect for any pony guests you had.
- >You carefully laid her on the bed and sat beside her.
- “This story will take some time, so get comfortable!”
- >She snuggles into the bed and pulls a pillow behind her.
- >Once she was adequately tucked in, she nodded to you, ready for your tale.
- “This is the story of a man named Anonymous.”
- >You looked at her, giving her a smirk, which she returns.
- “This man was a simple guy, he woke up, ate, went to work, came home, ate, relaxed, and went to sleep.”
- “That’s how many of his days went.”
- “For all intents and purposes, he was happy with his life.”
- “He never complained about his crappy pay, he never said a word about his leaky roof, and he never bothered his friends about his personal problems.”
- >You were getting a rhythm going and were actually enjoying telling her something you had never told anyone… not even Vinyl.
- “But, secretly, Anon wanted more from life…”
- “He wanted a well-paying job, a house he would be proud to call his own, and friends he could talk to about anything.”
- “But he said nothing about any of this, until one day…”
- “He met a stranger, a tall man with yellow eyes.”
- “This stranger seemed to understand Anon’s troubles, and offered a chance for something new.”
- >”You need fulfillment… I can offer this too you. I understand the want... the need for more.”
- “Anon didn’t know how this man knew these things, but he didn’t want to ask for fear of learning something he truly didn’t want to know”
- >Scootaloo was enraptured by your tale, hardly even breathing.
- “What can you offer to me that would fulfill me so much?”
- >”I can you offer you a second chance in a new land full of interesting inhabitants…”
- “And in a fit of randomness, or perhaps insanity, Anon accepted the strangers offer.”
- >Scootaloo was sitting up now, full invested in your story.
- >”What happened next?”
- “Well, Anon felt a bright blaze of heat and a searing bright light.”
- “When he opened his eyes, he was in a colorful world full of amazing ponies that could think and talk.”
- “This was completely new to him and something he had never even heard of before outside of works of fiction.”
- “It took him some time, quite a bit of time, but he was eventually able to get a nice job, a nice house, and some great friends.”
- “So, in the end, the stranger had kept his promise, and Anon lived happily ever after… the end.”
- “Now, it’s time for bed!”
- >You were dog tired, and ready for bed.
- >You stand up and make for the door.
- >”Wait!”
- >You turn to look at the mare.
- >”Thanks for sharing that with me Anon, it means a lot to me!”
- >You nod and reply,
- “No problem Scootaloo. I had fun telling it.”
- >”Call me Scoots. My friends used to.”
- >You nod again, wish her a good night and head to your room.
- >Lying in bed, you took a moment to contemplate just what happened today.
- >You didn’t know exactly why you helped this mare… maybe because no one else would?
- >You always had a soft spot for the homeless community in Equestria.
- >Probably because you spent time as one of them.
- >You liked this Scootaloo, she was funny, witty, and easy to get along with.
- >In your mind, it was a Greek tragedy that she had been treated this badly.
- >Hopefully, tomorrow you could shed some light on the matter.
- >You drift off to sleep, still thinking about this strange day you just went through.
