  1. == Character Assumptions ==
  2.
  3. Characters will be at their strongest reasonably feasible interpretation, and has enough information to be properly debated. This includes having equipment that they don't always have, as long as we know enough about it to properly argue it.
  4.
  5. Characters approach this fight with the median level of motivation from their canonical battles.
  6.
  7. Speed will never be equalised.
  8.
  9. == Battlefield Assumptions ==
  10.
  11. Combatants will start 20 meters apart. Even massive characters will have no part of themselves within this 20 meter gap, with the building being partially destroyed to accommodate that if necessary.
  12.
  13. The battlefield will be a gymnasium the size of one basketball court with no rooms or closets. There will be one door on one of the long edges, which both characters are equidistant from. That door will be closed but able to be opened. Outside, ten meters away from the door, will be a five-meter-wide barely-flowing freshwater creek, with five nearby trees harboring a handful of small birds, squirrels, insects, and fruit that gradually respawn quickly enough to feed three people a day. The trees' branches and leaves regrow fast enough to continually sustain a bonfire. Outside of those, the planet will be our Earth within our solar system and universe, but with all land covered with with grass; no other plants or animals than the ones outlined here will exist. The temperature will be twenty-five degrees Celsius across the planet, unless changed by combatants. This gymnasium will be located ten kilometers west of Sydney Harbour.
  14.
  15. == Match Conditions ==
  16.
  17. Characters can win by killing their opponent, causing them to be unable to fight for at least an hour, causing their opponent to declare their intention to resign and then travel two kilometers away, or by having their opponent only able to avoid a loss per the previous conditions by perpetually fleeing.
  18.
  19. Killing the opponent by fatiguing or starving them counts as valid, but having them eventually die of old age, the sun naturally subsuming the Earth in billions of years, or any other long-term natural cause is not considered valid.
  20.
  21. Matches where neither can defeat the other, nor will give up, despite engaging in combat, will be declared inconclusive.
  22.
  23. == Bracket Progression ==
  24.
  25. Each contestant has a chance to advance based on their win probability. For example, if a character has an 80% chance to win, I will generate a random number between 1 and 100; if it lands on any number 80 or below they'll move on, for any higher number the opponent will move on.
  26.
  27. If a match is inconclusive because neither can defeat the other, both will advance. If a match is inconclusive because each has an equal chance of defeating the other, only one will advance, chosen by a coin flip.
  28.
  29. All previous matches will be considered canonical, but there will be a stamina/gear/ability charge/health refill, and environment restoration after each match. Meaning a killed opponent can be resurrected in later rounds, an incapacitated opponent may be able to eventually free themselves or wake up, re-entering the bracket at a later round, etc. However, simultaneous matches can't interact with each other, despite occurring at the same place and time. In addition, contestants who resign or lose by perpetually fleeing cannot re-enter the bracket.
