  1. If you are considering learning Superstar Saga for the 12 Hour Challenge I would recommend adjusting your expectations, because so far the success rate for finishing a run using the Any% route in 12 hours is 0%.

  3. This is not saying you should avoid Superstar Saga as a speedgame. What I am saying is the game is a bad candidate for the 12 Hour Challenge because the game is so punishing. You can't save until the very end of the game. The game has tricks which can softlock or crash the game before that point. On top of all that the final boss is extremely difficult. Most speedruns you can finish the game even if the run is bad, but this is not one of those games.

  5. Granted, the spirit of the 12 Hour Challenge is to learn a new game. If you do decide to pick Superstar Saga for the 12 Hour Challenge, use it as a starting point. Don't feel pressured to complete a run within 12 hours. Learn the route, learn the tricks, try to beat Cackletta when you are 30+ levels lower than you would be compared to the average casual playthrough, or even just mess around with the wealth of glitches the game has to offer.
