WHY THEY’RE IN DEBT?: Jihan was disorganised with his money, loaning people without being paid back, overpromising and getting mixed in with the wrong people. He was involved in a huge scam that essentially made the company he working at bankrupt. This was actually what started his downward spiral financially. He owed money to many people which he could not pay and he was essentially giving money he really didn't have to his parents. He accumulated major debt and as a result of how bad it was, he wasn't even allowed to take out a loan. He couldn't keep a job for more than a couple of months as he had mediocre listening skills and he would always end up mixing up deadlines.

MINI BACKGROUND:
Jihan was born and raised in Gwacheon, South Korea. He lived in a poorer district, having to closely watch his money. His father worked odd jobs here and there and his mother was a seamstress. They earned barely enough money to keep themselves afloat but they somehow made it work. School was somewhat of a difficulty for Jihan, because although he was naturally gifted in a lot of the subjects, he was not able to concentrate in lessons, often drifting off until the end of the lesson. He did reasonably well in exams but teachers were constantly talking about his "untapped potential".

It was when he was about 24 that he met the love of his life. He had met her during a course he was doing in university. They had to work on a group assignment together and they helped each other out during the entirety of the assignment. They soon started dating and two years later, they were living together. Their relationship was happy and healthy and he was earning not a huge salary but a reasonable salary. However, 3 years after they had started living together, tragedy struck. The company that he was working for had gone completely bankrupt due to a huge scandal involving them had been exposed. This included money laundering, unethical treatment of staff as well as many other issues. Jihan was now unemployed with no sort of compensation.
