  1. General Emulator Info:
  2. - Don't update emulators when prompted!!!
  3. - Options > controller settings to set controls
  4. - Both players must use Port 1
  5. - Deadzone value of 5 recommended for most analog sticks
  6. - If emulating a Gamecube controller, all Wii remote options must be disabled and set to none
  7. - Vice-versa for Wii remotes
  8. - If emulating a sideways Wii remote, both players must configure identical controls for Wii remote 1 AND 2
  9. - If emulating a classic controller, both players must do really annoying stuff for Wii remote 1 AND 2:
  10. - Enable Classic extension on General and Options tab
  11. - Set identical controls on Extension tab
  12. - Config > Paths to set filepath
  13. - Refresh to display ISO in main emulator window
  14. - Launch game once prior to connecting via netplay
  15. - If you can't get the game to launch or it immediately desyncs, click Config button and enable Dual Core
  16. - Only try this when needed, enabling it may break games that normally work with it disabled
  17. - If memory card data is provided with ISO, Tools > Memory Card Manager > Browser to load data
  18. - If a .gci save file is provided, place the file here:
  19. %Drive%:\Users%User%\Documents\Dolphin Emulator\GC\USA\Card A
  20.
  21. Shouldn't need to touch any other settings beyond controls
  22.
  23.
  24. Host ideally enable port forwarding for four-digit TCP/UDP port of your choosing:
  25. - Ask us for help if needed.
  26. - If you are unable to access your router settings or are unfamiliar with port forwarding, download UPnP Wizard:
  27. - https://www.xldevelopment.net/upnpwiz.php
  28. - If for some reason you can't port forward by either means, your opponent should attempt to host.
  29. - If for some reason neither of you can port forward, you can try using the traversal server, though it may be slightly
  30. less stable.
  31. - If for some reason the traversal server isn't working, we will give you a different game on a different platform.
  32.
  33. Hosting:
  34. - Tools > Start Netplay > Direct Connection
  35. - use Traversal if neither player can port forward
  36. - Set port, Host
  37. - Recommended buffer is 6 for east coast vs west coast (increase/decrease as needed)
  38.
  39. Joining:
  40. - - Tools > Start Netplay > Connect with host's IP and port
