- General Emulator Info:
- - Don't update emulators when prompted!!!
- - Options > controller settings to set controls
- - Both players must use Port 1
- - Deadzone value of 5 recommended for most analog sticks
- - If emulating a Gamecube controller, all Wii remote options must be disabled and set to none
- - Vice-versa for Wii remotes
- - If emulating a sideways Wii remote, both players must configure identical controls for Wii remote 1 AND 2
- - If emulating a classic controller, both players must do really annoying stuff for Wii remote 1 AND 2:
- - Enable Classic extension on General and Options tab
- - Set identical controls on Extension tab
- - Config > Paths to set filepath
- - Refresh to display ISO in main emulator window
- - Launch game once prior to connecting via netplay
- - If you can't get the game to launch or it immediately desyncs, click Config button and enable Dual Core
- - Only try this when needed, enabling it may break games that normally work with it disabled
- - If memory card data is provided with ISO, Tools > Memory Card Manager > Browser to load data
- - If a .gci save file is provided, place the file here:
- %Drive%:\Users%User%\Documents\Dolphin Emulator\GC\USA\Card A
- Shouldn't need to touch any other settings beyond controls
- Host ideally enable port forwarding for four-digit TCP/UDP port of your choosing:
- - Ask us for help if needed.
- - If you are unable to access your router settings or are unfamiliar with port forwarding, download UPnP Wizard:
- - https://www.xldevelopment.net/upnpwiz.php
- - If for some reason you can't port forward by either means, your opponent should attempt to host.
- - If for some reason neither of you can port forward, you can try using the traversal server, though it may be slightly
- less stable.
- - If for some reason the traversal server isn't working, we will give you a different game on a different platform.
- Hosting:
- - Tools > Start Netplay > Direct Connection
- - use Traversal if neither player can port forward
- - Set port, Host
- - Recommended buffer is 6 for east coast vs west coast (increase/decrease as needed)
- Joining:
- - - Tools > Start Netplay > Connect with host's IP and port
