  1. A stranger offered a failed porcelain maker a lot of money to create a high quality qing-bai vase. Some time after the job was done, the maker discovered at an antique auction for Northern Song Dynasty ceramics that the featured piece looked identical to the one he had made for the customer. An investigation into possible forgery uncovered a consipracy that began back in 1949.
