  14. Hello everyone! Welcome to the thread for a KH2FM Rando Tournament that I will be hosting throughout the beginning of 2022 - JOATT 2!
  15. JOATT Stands for Jack-Of-All-Trades, and this is the Second Tournament of it's kind. The first JOATT saw a lot of success and people
  16. really enjoyed the format being so different compared to other tournaments, so I wanted to host another one!

  18. The first JOATT was won by VGmaster, and it consisted of 5 Settings - ABN, League, Lv1, Rando Rando, Beginner Blitz.
  19. JOATT2 will feature different settings, and an updated Format, so without further ado, let's get on to the Rules!

  23. HOW IT WORKS :-

  25. If you're unfamiliar with the JOATT Format from the previous Tournament, this is how it works!
  26. Unlike in other Tournaments, there will be 5 Qualifying Races, of 5 different Randomizer Settings. These will be held on 5 Successive Saturdays, starting from the 15th January 2022. You are awarded Points based on your placement in a Qualifier Race, and by the end of all 5, the players with the most points will form the Top 8 Championship Bracket. (Last time there was a seperate Bracket for 9th -> 16th players, though this won't be happening this time to really highlight how important it is to get into the top 8!)

  28. Now this is where it gets different from the first JOATT Tournament...
  29. (Please Note that this is all Subject to change based on feedback and future testing)

  31. For the Top 8, an additional 5 Settings will be added to the pool, making 10 in Total. This allows for more variety between rounds and matches in the Top 8, and we have a large selection of established Settings to where I think this is a positive idea. I will list all of the Settings that are currently being considered later in this pastebin, and if you have ANY Questions or Concerns regarding a Setting, please let me know (My Discord is iSalad#7590).

  35. TOURNAMENT ORGANISERS:-

  37. The organisers for this Tournament are as follows;

  46. Kayya will be taking part, but asyncing at the start of every week so they can be around to help with Asyncs.
  47. I (iiSalad) will be taking part Live, so I cannot help with Seed problems, but general tournament organising problems you can come to me for, and I can direct you to one of the other organisers for Asyncs also.

  49. If you need to ASync one of the Qualifiers, I strongly suggest that you DM one of the organisers as soon as possible in the week leading up to the Qualifier you need to Async. (For the first qualifier (ABN) on the 15th January, you should DM and setup your async as early as possible in the week before (Ideally on the 8th or 9th of January)).

  53. The settings that have been chosen for the 5 Qualifying Rounds are as follows -

  61. The additional settings added during the Top 8 Phase are as follows -

  69. I believe that these settings give a decent Variety of Options and skillsets that you will have to Master in order to win the Tournament. Someone in Top 8 could heavily Practice Bingo and have a good chance against someone who hasn't practiced it yet.

  72. POINTS SYSTEM :-

  74. The points system for each Qualifier will be similar to the one in the first JOATT, although this one will place less emphasis on the higher placements. The current configuration of points will be as followed;

  76. 1st - 50 Points
  77. 2nd - 45 Points
  78. 3rd - 41 Points
  79. (from this point onwards, one place = a drop of 3 points)
  80. 4th - 38 Points
  81. 5th - 35 Points
  82. etc.
  83. 16th - 2 Points
  84. 17th -> Final Placement = 0 Points.

A running total of people's points will be provided in a Doc after each Qualifier to track progress, and the top 8 players in points after the 5th Qualifier will qualify for the Top 8 Phase of the Tournament! More info on the Top 8 will come in due time, once we know more about the new generator and which settings are going to be included.

  99. 1. Will PC be allowed?
  100.  
  101. - No. With money on the line, and wanting the most entertainment value possible, I do not want PC Crashes deciding the outcome of races.

  103. 2. Will ASyncs be allowed?

  105. - Yes. I stress that if you can make it to the Saturday Night Qualifier, i'd really appreciate it if you did, but if for some reason you reeeeally can't, I will be allowing ASyncs a week before each Qualifier. (For Example, you can take part in a Qualifier on Saturday, then on the day after, you can ASync the following Saturday's Qualifier).
