  34. Notes:
  35. - This is an improvement to the original Metagross/Latios/Slaking team. Other previous teams had Linoone (Belly Drum/Extremespeed) or double Explosion (Gengar/Cloyster).
  36. - Metagross is now given Aerial Ace instead of Shadow Ball to speed up the Greta 1 battle against Heracross and Umbreon. Aerial Ace also gives this team an answer to evasion hax while losing minimal coverage.
  37. - The Metagross/Latios duo is incredibly potent in later rounds, as discovered seven years ago during my All Gold Symbols routing. However, this variant is even better than the AGS version because Latios has Surf to cover the Fire types that Metagross loses to, rather than Calm Mind.
  38. - Quick Claw goes in HARD with this Metagross with its 20% chance to activate. Since switching out isn't allowed, it's the best strategy for beating Fire types. It also helps cover Metagross' weakness to physically bulky Earthquake users that carry their own Quick Claw. Metagross also gets paralyzed a lot, and Quick Claw ignores the Speed drop entirely.
  39. - Kangaskhan seems like an odd final choice since it's typically outclassed by Slaking, Tauros or Zangoose, all of which have higher offensive stats and similar movesets. However, Slaking doesn't work well in the Arena because its Truant turns often cause an unfavorable judgment. Tauros would be good, but its Intimidate ability loses too much time, and it often dies to crit Surfs from Water types that this team is slightly weak to. Zangoose is too frail. Meanwhile, Kangaskhan's massive base HP and strong overall bulk allows it to effectively use Double-Edge to make up for its lower Attack, and its Early Bird ability can save a run.
  40. - I think this team build is optimal for any Arena attempts that prefer to win battles quickly. Exploding leads are great in the Arena to eliminate threats that you can't switch out of, Latios is the best all-around Pokemon and pairs well with Metagross, and a Normal-type Choice Band user in the back makes sense because locking into Normal moves is pretty safe.
