Yu-gi-oh 5ds my story 25

(As the announcer speaks, what remains of the crowd watches intently, including Tanner, Yanagi, Dexter, and the twins. Yusei's lifepoints stand at 1500, and his defensive Shield Warrior has 1600 defense points. Akiza's Rose Tentacles towers over the field, and she still has a full 4000 lifepoints. Rose Tentacles has 2200 attack points.)
Announcer: Welcome back to the excitement, ladies and gentlemen! Akiza appears to have Yusei Fudo right where she wants him! Can he escape the reach of the Black Rose's Rose Tentacles, or will his lifepoints get squeezed into submission? Let's watch and find out!
Akiza: Well, Yusei? (draws) It's my turn, and I activate "Ivy Shackles"! And with this spell, (sic; trap) I can now turn your Speed Warrior (sic) into a plant-type monster. Before you know it, Yusei, your entire field's going to look like one giant greenhouse.
(Vines wrap around Yusei's Shield Warrior. Yusei doesn't twitch.)
Akiza: So with your Warrior now under the control of my Rose Tentacles, she can now attack you an extra time this round. You said I enjoyed other people's misery; well then I guess I should really enjoy *this*, shouldn't I?
(Rose Tentacles raises its vines, ready to strike Yusei again)
Yusei (think): Oh, man. Even though my Warrior's in defense mode, he can't protect me from *both* attacks.
Akiza: Now, Rose Tentacles, attack! Thrash his warrior! Go, Rose Retaliation!

(The crowd cowers and screams, slammed with a gust of wind.)

Akiza: Oh, and by the way, my Rose Tentacles' power doesn't stop there. Since your Warrior is under her control, you now take three hundred points of direct damage!
(Rose Tentacles, by now, has a vine poised behind Yusei; it smacks him, hard, on the back.)
Yusei: Ugh!
(Yusei's lifepoints are now 1200.)
Yusei: Akiza, listen! Don't do this!
Akiza: Huh? Don't do *what*? Attack you directly? Well I *don't* do charity!
(Rose Tentacles swings a vine toward Yusei)
Yusei: Then I play *my* trap-- "Card Defense"! So by removing one of the cards in my hand (Equip Shot), my trap's effect cancels your direct attack! And then it allows me to draw a new card to replace it!
Akiza: It'll take more than *that* to stop *me*!
Yusei: Akiza-- you have to listen, you can't keep dueling with this anger!
Akiza: Oh yeah?! Well until you've battled in *my* duel disk, save it! I don't need your help! Besides You're in my way!
Yusei: In you're way for what!?
Akiza: You're in my way of getting to him!
(Yusei pauses for a moment, then draws.)
Yusei: We'll see!
(He drew the spell card Junk Barrage.)
Yusei: I summon Junk Synchron! And thanks to his special ability, I get to summon *another* monster from my graveyard! So say hello again to Speed Warrior!
[Junk Synchron 1300//]
[Speed Warrior 900/400/L2/wind]
Yusei: And now I'm tuning my Junk Synchron with my Speed Warrior to synchro-summon-- Junk Warrior!
(Junk Synchron starts the motor on his back, and his three stars fly straight up into a rushing void. Three green rings descend, and align with Speed Warrior, transforming it into golden outlines, aligning its two stars...)
Yusei: Let's rev it up!
[Junk Warrior 2300//]
Yusei: Next I'm going to activate the equip spell "Junk Barrage", which gives my warrior a power boost! Alright, pal-- now attack Rose Tentacles!
(Destroyed. Akiza's lifepoints now stand at 3900.)
Yusei: And now the effect of my "Junk Barrage" activates! So as soon as my Warrior destroyed your garden-gone-wild, you lose lifepoints for each of Rose Tentacles' attack points!
(Junk Warrior blasts Akiza again; Akiza's lifepoints fall to 2800. Akiza didn't even flinch.)
Yusei: Looks like *you're* up.

(The announcer's face is on the sphere.)
Announcer: That was a big round for Yusei-- now will Junk Warrior make trash outta the Black Rose?
(The crowd is making unpleasant noise)
- Take that, you witch!
- Get her outta here!
Leo: All right! Yusei's got this!
Dex: I know!
Tanner: Ya see that combo, gramps? He's on a roll!
Yanagi: I prefer a nice bialy.
Luna (think): There's something different about the way Yusei's dueling. It's almost like he's holding back and trying to *help* Akiza.

Akiza: You want combos? (draw) Watch! (she drew Copy Plant)
Akiza: First of all, since my spell card Ivy Shackles is still in effect, your Warrior becomes a plant-type monster. Next up, I'm summoning my Copy Plant in defense mode!
[Copy Plant 0/0/1/wind]
Akiza: And I bet you can guess what its special ability is just from its name. But in case you weren't paying attention, it can copy the level of any other plant monster on the field, and since your Warrior is under the control of my Rose Tentacles, my Copy Plant now becomes a level-five monster!

Yanagi: I'm not sure I like what she's planning to do, kids. She's got Yusei backing into a corner!

Akiza: And now that I have the tuner monster Copy Plant on my field, I can trigger the special ability of my Dark Verger that's in my graveyard to summon up your destruction, Yusei!

Tanner: Here comes the combo she was talkin' about. Aw, man, this ain't good.

Yusei: Ugh...
Akiza: Get ready, 'cause now I can use my monsters for a synchro-summon!! I tune my Copy Plant with my Dark Verger to create my ultimate monster waiting for her fangs to chow on her next victim-- I summon, Black Rose Dragon!
(The air around Akiza is glowing pink, as she raises her arm to the sky. Black Rose Dragon's thorned lashes whip through the air as it appears, graceful and terrifying, in a whirlwind, roaring.)



Akiza: Get ready to feel the fury of my Black Rose Dragon, Yusei!
[Black Rose Dragon 2400//]
(Yusei's Sign lights up on his arm and he looks at it in shock.)
Akiza: Because as soon as it's summoned to the field, I can activate its special ability! So by taking a plant-type monster from the graveyard and then removing it from play, I can choose one of your monsters and set its attack points to zero! I'll sacrifice Wall of Ivy!
(Black Rose Dragon savagely chomps the ghost of Wall of Ivy that appears in the air before it.)
Akiza: It's a small price to pay, to take out all your Junk Warrior's attack points!
(Black Rose Dragon wraps Junk Warrior in glowing red vines.)
Yusei: Not Junk Warrior!
Akiza: That tin can's worthless now! There's *nothing* that he can do! Black Rose Dragon attack!!
Yusei: *He* might not be able to help me, but guess who can! By removing my Shield Warrior from play, I can save Junk Warrior from being destroyed!
[Shield Warrior 800/1600/L3/earth]
Akiza: But you're *still* going to feel the wrath of my dragon!
Yusei: Not if I play this-- my "Spirit Force"! So now all the damage from your Dragon's attack is negated!
(The blast is deflected by a glowing shield around Yusei, and flies in all directions.)

(Part of it hits the dueling track; parts of the crowd scream and duck for cover)

Yusei: Agh! Oh, man, her power's getting out of control! I better finish this duel before someone gets hurt! <8:00> With the power of my "Spirit Force", I'm bringing back Junk Synchron from my graveyard!
Akiza: Well let's see what that hunk of junk can do against two facedowns.

(In the stands, a few columns of chairs have been completely totaled. A woman sits weeping in the aisle, and a young man stands and shouts)
- You ruined my seats!! You have *any* idea how much they cost me?!
(Another part of the crowd)
- She's dangerous! Just send her away!
(Another; Akiza is drowning in enmity; the rest of the crowd is chanting: Freak! Freak! Freak!)
- No one likes you!

Akiza (mutters): Just keep it up. Just keep putting me down. I know it makes *you* feel good, but now let me show you what makes *me* feel good. It's time to show you what misery *really* is.
(Yusei watches her silently as she continues.)
Akiza: My whole life, I've tried to ignore all the teasing and name-calling. But you can't ignore the pain that it causes forever, Yusei. (her eyes look slightly insane) I'll *make* them stop!
Yusei (think): I have to help her before she does something she'll regret...! If I show her that her power's a gift and not a curse, maybe she'll stop causing all this pain! (aloud) It's my move!
(He drew a spell, Prevention Star)
Yusei (think): Nice. With "Prevention Star" I can stop one of her monsters from attacking. I'd better hold onto it for later. I got a feeling the big dogs are comin' out soon. (aloud) I summon Junk Synchron in attack mode!
[Junk Synchron 1300//]
Yusei: And thanks to his special ability, Speed Warrior is summoned automatically!
[Speed Warrior /400/]

Leo: All right! And now Speed Warrior's attack points get transferred over to Junk Warrior! That's not just a *special* ability, that's like a totally-wicked-double-backflip-with-chocolate-sprinkles ability!!

(Yusei looks at the card he's holding in his hand)
Yusei (think): Stardust Dragon. Perfect! (aloud) Now I tune Junk Synchron with my Junk Warrior!
(Junk Warrior flies through the three rings, turning into golden outlines; the stars align...)
Yusei: Meet my friend-- Stardust Dragon!!
(Yusei raises an arm triumphantly, in the blast of white light. The dragon appears at last, roaring; its crinkled wings shimmer in the bright sunlight, raining glitter through the air.)
Announcer: In all my years of broadcasting, I have *never* seen a monster like this! If you're watching from home, do *not* adjust your screen! It's as unbelievable as it appears!!
[Stardust Dragon 2500//]

Yanagi: That's his dragon! That's the card Jack gave 'im!
Leo: Wait a sec-- why would Yusei bring out a monster that's weaker than his Warrior?
Luna: I dunno, it's like he's trying to *say* something to the Black Rose.
(The crowd)
- She's got no chance, now!
- Lookit that, it's huge!
(Above the arena, Stardust and Black Rose Dragon are facing off, about equal in size and stature.)

(Jack's eyes are wide)
Jack: Not bad.
Goodwin: Excellent!

Sayer: *Two* dragons*?
Cortez: You can do it, Yusei.

(Stardust shrieks at Black Rose Dragon, who roars right back.)
Announcer: Get ready, people; these two dragons are about to do battle!


Akiza: You brought out that dragon to remind me of all the pain that detestable mark on my arm has caused me! Why would you do that?!
Yusei (surprised): Huh?
Akiza: Do you really believe that because we both have this mark in common you know what I'm feeling and what I've been through!?
Yusei: I'm just showing you you're not as different as you think! I don't *have* to be your enemy, I *could* be your friend.
Akiza: *Friend*?! Who says I *want* a friend! We both have these stupid marks, and no matter what we do we'll always be outcasts. Get it? Our fate is to be alone...

(Flashback. The room is in purple flames; the grown man whom five-year-old Akiza was dueling is slammed against the wall hard enough to crack it, and hangs there, suspended, as a woman beside him stares at the young girl in horror.
Akiza (VO): My family...
(Change flashback. Teenage Akiza and her Violet Witch stand across the field from a huge explosion, surrounded by dark purple flames.)
Akiza (VO): My classmates...
(Change flashback. Duel Academy students cower, as the floor demolishes itself around a dark-haired girl in a red blazer who stands across the duel field from Akiza. The teenage psychic stands alone, shunned by her peers.)
Akiza (VO): Everyone I've ever known, I've hurt!
(End Flashback.)

Akiza: That's why having friends isn't a choice, it's something, that I can never do. And that's why it's so much easier to wear a mask.
(She raises the heartless white mask, holding it in front of her face, as though to put it on.)
Akiza: It's amazing how little you care about other people when you can live behind a wall of plaster and paint--

(Flashback.)
Akiza (VO): Even if it is only the size of your face.
(The Black Rose raises a hand, and blasts a duelist in the street with a rose.)
Akiza (VO): And so I dueled with it. I *won* with it. And I *lived* with it.
(The Black Rose's face was expressionless; her opponent never saw Akiza's vengeful glee. She stood alone in a storm of wind, cloaked.)
Akiza (VO): Some have said it's time to move on, to show my true face to the world.

(Change Flashback. The Black Rose stands in an alley, hidden from a bright light beyond it. She looks up, startled, as a black-gloved hand removes the mask from her face.)
Akiza (VO): Because maybe then people wouldn't fear my abilities. Maybe then I could live a normal life--
(Sayer stands across the alley from her, face-to-face. He holds the mask in one hand, smiling. The moment holds, as she looks up at him in silent surprise.)
Akiza (VO): Or at least as close to normal as people like us can get. Maybe even have a friend.
(End Flashback)

Akiza: But *you* heard the crowd, didn't you, Yusei? They don't understand me; eighty thousand people are shouting they're *afraid* of me!!
Yusei: Don't listen to them; listen to me!
Akiza: I need my mask, *why* are you trying to help me, Yusei!
Yusei: Because I know you!
Akiza (dejected): You know *who*, the scared girl? Maybe the face behind the mask?
Yusei: I know what it's like to be the outcast. I'm from the Satellite! You think people here liked what they saw in *me*?! You can't stay afraid! You can't hide behind a mask forever!
Akiza: You're wrong.
Yusei (think): I didn't want it to come to *this*, Akiza, but you've left me no choice! (aloud) Stardust Dragon, attack with Cosmic Flare!
(Yusei grimaces as his Sign appears, burning through his glove.)
Yusei: Ugh...!
(Akiza's appears, to her fury.)
Akiza: Ugh...!!

(Luna's is glowing too, and she grabs her arm with her other hand, hiding it from view)
Yanagi: Huh? Hey, your arm!

(Up in the control tower, Jack's Sign appears also; he gasps with surprise. Goodwin turns his head slightly to look at Jack)

(In the back stage of the duel arena, Cortez's golden card glows in his pouch. As he opens it, he gets a feeling that something is happening.)
Cortez (think): Oh no!

Yusei: *Don't wear that mask!!*
(Stardust attacks and destroys Black Rose Dragon; Akiza is left with 2700 lifepoints.)
Akiza: Sorry. But I've already made my decision. I... need the mask. Without it, it's too... easy to be hurt.
(Over the last few words, she puts on the mask; it muffles her voice, making it sound slightly different.)

(Crowd)
- Nice mask-- scaredy-cat!
- Happy Halloween!

Sayer: Yusei... Akiza's *mine*. You can't rescue her from fate.

(Akiza now stands on the field, wearing her Black Rose mask.)

(Jack and Goodwin watch silently)

(Cortez watches with a bit of fear while Sayer watches with joy

Yusei: Listen--
Akiza: No! *You* listen! It's my move, and I activate "Magic Planter"! So by removing my "Ivy Shackles" from play, I get to plant two new facedowns! And next I'll play one of them, Dark Tuning! For the low price of eight hundred lifepoints, I can summon any synchro monster from my graveyard! And I'm bringing back-- Black Rose Dragon!!
[Black Rose Dragon 2400///]
Akiza: But I'm not done yet, because now I can equip Wicked Reborn to my Dragon!
(Dark Tuning and Wicked Reborn are actually both effects of the same card, which is known in the TCG as "Wicked Rebirth" and usually has a different effect and is also known by a few other names as well.)
Akiza: She might not be able to attack *this* turn, but as long as she's equipped with this card, Black Rose Dragon can be re-summoned at the end of each and every round! So for those of you in the *back* of the class, that means if it's ever destroyed in battle, or by some special spell, it comes back as good as new at the end of my turn.
Yusei: Ugh...
Akiza: Oh, and last but not least, when Black Rose Dragon is special summoned, all the cards on your field are destroyed! So say goodbye to your pathetic pet!
(Black Rose Dragon creates a mighty whirlwind; Akiza's arm twinges again.)
Akiza: Ugh!
(The whirlwind is spreading, beyond the duel and into the stadium...)

Tanner: Hold on tight!
Yanagi: Stay together!
(The kids moan with fear)
Luna (think): Yusei...

Yusei (think): I gotta stop this...! (aloud) I activate Stardust's special ability! It might be a big price to pay, <15:00> but sacrificing my dragon destroys yours and all of its powers!
(Yusei discards Stardust Dragon.)
Yusei: It's a dragon for a dragon!
(Stardust lunges forward, its wings folding around Black Rose Dragon's neck. It begins to shine brightly, and Black Rose Dragon goes with it. Both evaporate. They're gone.)

Tanner: Look! He stopped her!
Yanagi: But he lost Stardust Dragon! What now?!

Jack (mutters): Your heart will be your undoing!

Akiza: You may have rid the field of my Dragon, but let's see how you handle Phoenixian Seed!
[Phoenixian Seed 800//]
And since we're sacrificing cards to activate special abilities, I'll sow my seed to reap Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis!
[Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis 2200/0/L8/fire]
Computer: When the monster card Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis is in your graveyard, it is automatically re-summoned in defense mode at the end of your turn.
Akiza: And before you start in again with 'don't duel in anger', let's see if you change your tune after I destroy another one of your monsters! Amaryllis, attack!!!
(It wraps orange-glowing vines around Speed Warrior, burning it out of existence)
Akiza: But it *doesn't* end there, because once Amaryllis attacks, it self-destructs, causing another eight hundred points of damage-- this should hurt a little.
(Yusei weathers the blow)
Akiza: Toldja.
(Yusei lp 400)
(In the whipping wind, the bottom third of Akiza's mask cracks away, revealing that same sinister smile from earlier.)
Akiza: I'll end with a facedown.
Yusei: This round's not even close to being over, Akiza! Remember, I used Stardust Dragon's special ability, and that means he comes back!!
Akiza: Well then I guess our two beasts will have to battle it out again! This is the beginning of your end!
(Huge column of violet-white light behind her, swarming with black petals.)


Akiza: I re-summon Black Rose Dragon!! And with it on the field, I now activate my trap-- "Overdoom Line". So now the monster I just summoned from my graveyard gains one thousand attack points! And to keep my Dragon company, I'm activating Amaryllis's special ability, which also allows me to summon it from my graveyard! I'll lay a card face down! It's *your* turn, Yusei!
Yusei: I draw, then. (he drew a trap, think) "Cosmic Blast". Now if my Dragon ever leaves the field, it can still deal damage to Akiza! I know the only way to help her is to defeat her!
(A combo forms in Yusei's mind, a path from one card to the next: Prevention Star, Stardust, a facedown, Black Rose Dragon, Cosmic Blast.)
Yusei (think): And I'm starting to see just the combo to do it! (aloud) I take my Stardust Dragon, and switch it to defense mode. Then I'll activate the spell "Prevention Star". And since my Stardust Dragon is in defense mode, I can equip the power of Prevention Star to it. And now I get to prevent one of *your* monsters from attacking or changing its battle position! And I think I'll freeze up your Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis!

Tanner: Awesome! Yusei never would've survived another round with Akiza's Amaryllis still in attack mode! Now let's see if he can turn this duel around!

Cortez: Good thing you're safe, Yusei.
Sayer: Hmph! Just you wait and see what her next move will be. I'll know when she'll use it.
(Cortez looks at Sayer with a stern expression that tells him he wants to make Sayer for some reason.)

Akiza: I play the trap card "Synchro Back"! Now by removing one synchro monster from my field, I can *re*-summon it next turn. And who better, than my Black Rose Dragon, Yusei?
(It disappears)

Yanagi: What did she do?
Tanner: Don'tcha get it, gramps? When she special-summons her dragon next round, its special ability activates, destroying all of Yusei's cards!
Dex: Yeah-- so she'll take out Yusei's Stardust Dragon, and that'll leave 'im wide-open for a direct attack! I dunno what he can do to beat Akiza, guys!
Twins: Wah!

Yusei: I'll end by throwing down a facedown.
Akiza: It *won't* help you! (draws) 'Cause thanks to my Synchro Back's effect, Black Rose Dragon comes back to the field!
(Huge column of violet-white light behind her, swarming with black petals. As soon as it appears, Akiza groans as her mark throbs again.)
Yusei: It's your Sign!
Akiza: I wish it was gone!
Yusei: But it's a part of you! It's part of all of us!
(As he speaks, she thinks angrily of the claw-shaped mark that burns through her sleeve. Behind the mask, her eyes are hateful.)
Yusei: Having this mark doesn't make you a witch, Akiza, it makes you special! I know other people don't see that, and I know it hurts; but when you get angry at them, you're only hating yourself!
(Across the field, Yusei is gripping his own right arm, hunching over slightly to brace it against his leg. He, too, is remembering the sight of the mark glowing against his bare arm.)
Yusei: The pain you feel from that mark is shared by me as well. It's trying to bring us together, to strengthen us! I don't understand it yet, but this pain is somehow uniting us! We have to figure out what it wants, Akiza; but first you must realize that you're not alone!
(Akiza looks down at her arm...)

(Cortez looks at his golden card)
Yusei: That we're connected--

(Luna is also looking down at her arm, her face troubled with the pain.)
Yusei (VO): We're *all* connected! We're all going to have to make a choice.

(Jack, also gripping his arm, is gritting his teeth.)
Yusei (VO): We're going to have to band together in order for this to all make sense!

Yusei: Embrace your dragon; it's beautiful! Just like you are under that mask.
Akiza: I'm *not* beautiful. People don't like me! And it's this mark that's caused all the suffering I've had to live through!
Yusei: You're right. But if *you* stay mad, you'll *always* suffer.
Akiza: So just accept it...? *Embrace* it...? (her voice wavers) Forget the past...?!
(The roller in Akiza's hair starts glowing.)
Akiza: Hate's all I know! I am here for one reason and one reason only! I will not stop until I have who I want!
(The roller goes flying; Akiza's hair wildly comes loose in several long bangs that are usually curled around the roller.)
Akiza: This discussion is over!! I activate Black Rose Dragon's special ability!

(Black Rose Dragon spreads its wings and the wind begins to blow in the stadium again. Everyone in the audience cowers. A piece of the translucent side of the dueling track shatters and breaks.)

Akiza: All of your cards are destroyed, along with this stadium!!
Yusei: I won't let you do this!! I use, my Dragon's special ability! I'll sacrifice *him*, to stop this destruction!
(Once again, Stardust lunges forward and body-slams Black Rose Dragon, holding it back. Black Rose Dragon angrily whips at Stardust with its vines.)
Yusei: Stop fighting, Akiza! It's over! The dragon inside you wasn't meant to destroy!
(One of the vines, then another, hits dangerously close to Stardust's eye, but it holds its ground, clinging to Black Rose Dragon. Black Rose Dragon shines and disappears within Stardust's grasp, then Stardust, too, vanishes. The winds calm.)
Akiza: She's... gone! Black Rose Dragon's gone!
(Yusei's Prevention Star leaves the field along with Stardust; there's still a little tornado going in the center of the field. Akiza's voice has a hysterical edge to it, and she sounds like she's almost crying.)
Akiza: But that doesn't mean we're finished here, Yusei. Prevention Star's gone, too; which means Amaryllis can now attack. But you still have that facedown, Yusei, don't you! The question is, will it be enough! You've wasted your time trying to save *me*; now it's time to see if you can save yourself. Let's see if you can stop me!
Yusei: I never wanted to stop you; I wanted to save you!
Akiza: Huh?!
Yusei: And I intend to with "Cosmic Blast"! Now because Stardust Dragon left the field, you lose lifepoints for all of its attack points! You would've seen it coming if you weren't hiding behind that mask!
(A ghostly image of Stardust appears over Yusei, and summons winds that swirl with black rose petals, forming a tornado that it wraps its wings around; violet light pours from behind its wings.)
Akiza: You're right. The dragon wasn't meant to destroy.
Yusei: Now you realize that--
Akiza (o.c. fury) I AM! I activate the trap "Nature's Reflection"! And with it, I can reflect your card's effect. *You* Would'of seen it coming if you weren't wasting your time trying to help me, let alone get in my way to my prey!
Yusei (scared): No!

Tanner: It's over! He lost!
Yusei's friends (worried): Yusei!!

(The the petals and pure purple lights dives to Yusei. He blocks from the blast, but they were to much for Yusei to take. He screamed from the deflected blast It explodes. He screamed loudly as he got down while the blast continued to hit him in a pile. Now burned just like Commander Koda and Ransborg.)
Yusei (in agony): How? Why?
(Akiza deactivates her duel disk and walks away)
Akiza: It's simple! I will have my victim! I never leave my victims in one piece! You were in the way, Yusei, and I will not be stopped until I make sure my prey is in my hands!

(Jack was surprised to see what happened to Yusei while Goodwin watches with no care.)
Jack: Unbelievable! He lost?!
Goodwin: Well, she wanted Cortez after all. So she may have him.
(Jack growls in anger as he slams the table near him.)
Jack: Cortez! This is all you're fault! If you hadn't of shown up, I be settling the score with Yusei! You had better hope you win this, cause after this! I'll give you no mercy like Akiza won't give you!

(Cortez was shocked in the face to see what just happened just now. Sayer walks out to get Akiza.)
