  1. So we have this family friend of ours named Donnie. He was our neighbor for about 5 years from the time I was 5 to when I was 10, and even afterwards we saw him over at holiday parties and sports events. I knew his kids through our baseball program I used to play in. Anyways, my parents always told me to be the type of person Don was, he was a great father and worked hard to keep his family happy and active in neighborhood festivities. He worked at my favorite restaurant as a chef, where we used to go to so often, that the wait staff didn't even take our order they just put it in as we came in the door. Don even came out personally to deliver the food and make sure it was okay, even though we knew he was the best at what he does. He honestly deserved much more than that sports bar, but he was contempt with the work environment and loved the atmosphere.

  3. One special thing about Don that I remember was his dog Bover (like Rover, but with a B and rhymes with lover) Bover was a Boxer Mix that was strong and hard to control, to the point where since I was young I could never see him because he'd probably injure me incidentally. Don always had trouble with this dog, and it seemed like all of his training techniques were going to waste. He was still unpredictable and volatile. A couple of neighbors behind their backs started talking about how poorly they were treating that dog, but I didn't believe them. They say a dog is only as good as its owner, but there is no way someone as great as Don could be reflected in a dog that was ill-mannered like Bover. Because as we all know, you can't judge a cook by it's Bover.
