Getting Sent to The Wrong Promised Day! (Prologue/Part 0)

Your eyelids peel open, feeling like little weights as they uncover your eyes.
in front of you is a giant stuffed cow,an emotionless, immobile face stitched on to it.
you try to move, but you realize your movement has been restricted by duct tape wrapped around your body.
You squirm and bounce, but the tape won't budge.
"So, you're finally awake?"
you stare wide-eyed at the stuffed cow, the source of the voice its motionless mouth.
the memories all start flooding back to you: infiltrating Team Salvato, reading up on all of the Doki files, finding those girls trapped in...
the girls!
you try once more to free yourself but the tape binding you won't budge.
"Judging by that little episode, I'm assuming you finally remembered what you were doing here."
You stop squirming and stare at the cow, painting a mixture of fear and hatred on your face.
"I'll admit it, you certainly were close. The project was in its perfect stage to be exposed, at the height of its popularity. It would have surely been the end for us."
you hear a click, and you look up.
"Oh, I wouldn't do that, it's better to be facing forward, otherwise you might get quite the injury."
You toss and turn, trying anything to free yourself from what was coming.
"restrain him."
two figures rush to your side and force you to stand still, grabbing the sides of your head and forcing you to look right at Mr. Cow.
"Guwoohehehehe, ya screwed up now there, boy!"
you recognize that brooding irish accent as Dan, the 'mastermind' behind it all.
Mr. Cow notices the confusion on your face. "Yes, a puppet king, per say. I needed someone to be able to be the face of the company, something a toy cow couldn't do. The leprachaun was a perfect fit."
"Ah geez boss, ya' had ta' go an' say leprechaun, did ya?"
"Quiet, Danlet."
His eyes never move, but your gut senses his gaze shift from Dan back to you.
"I've decided to give you a chance, give you the opportunity to play our game like no one else has."
You glare at Mr. Cow, unable to do anything about the position you're in.
"Oh come now, i'm giving you the chance of your lifetime! Feel lucky you didn't end up like the agent sent before you, I believe he was Agent Cook?"

Your eyes widen, then seethe with anger as you realize that they tortured your best friend.
"He made a perfect vessel for the full release of our game. His mind was so weak, easy to manipulate into the cold, uncaring doll we needed. I even kept his name in there. MC-Kun, if you will."
Your vision is shrouded as the machine hugs your head, squeezing it just a bit.
"Anyways, this little chat was nice. Consider it a reward for getting so deep into our plans. I hope you enjoy playing our game, Doki Doki Literature Club."
A cold, raspy laugh echoes through your mind as it fades away behind the revving of the machine.
Thousands of lights and colors are shot into your retinas, and your ears bleed from the sounds of unknown whizzing and buzzing of the electronic world.
You go to shut your eyes, but you find yourself no longer in control of your body, and eventually, you're forced to stop struggling.
Your vision goes white, and your mind goes blank.
Then, you woke up.
