- For the most part, these races will always be allowed for play. If you wish to see the races that require special permissions to play, ask the DM.
- Humans: Natives to either the Three Kingdoms of Man, or the two tribes of Airene. Humans possess the natural ability to endure and expand, and make up for their weaker statures for their sheer numbers and instincts.
- I'd hope you know what humans look like.
- Common homeland: Throughout Albrus; the three kingdoms are: Zerif, Malibor, and Almura.
- Devronde and Kaenra are home to two different tribes; the Devkarti and Reinar, respectively.
- ----------------------------------------
- Dwarves: Dwarves are a race of stout humanoids renown for their advanced engineering and craftsmanship. They pride themselves for their prowess in battle, and prefer their own two gods over the common pantheon. Dwarven vigor is legendary; many battles record them continuing to fight even after losing limbs.
- Dwarves are short, yet muscular. They take great pride in their hair, preferring to keep it long and decorated with a variety of coloured beads or jewelry. The men always have a beard; a beardless man in Dwarven culture is an omen of madness.
- Common homeland: The mountains of Kalimourne or beneath the deserts of Malibor.
- ----------------------------------------
- Sylvan: A race of fey that make their home to a massive swamp found in Zerif. While they swear their allegiance to Zerif, the Sylvan often prefer to see themselves as separate from man, and undoubtedly have greater control over the swamp.
- Sylvan resemble humans in many ways, save for their slightly pointed ears and somewhat tan skin tone. They are also often slightly shorter than men.
- Common homeland: The swamps of Zerif
- ----------------------------------------
- Erish: Another race of Fey; they take their homes up in the far north, and are the ruling race of Eris. The Erish are both blessed and cursed by their magic. Due to being closely related to the fey, they possess incredible magical power...however, they also have their quirks and tics.
- The Erish are a race of tall humanoids with incredibly pale skin. They generally have lighter hair colours, and share the same pointed ears with their Sylvan cousins.
- Erish begin with a unique quirk. Please take this in mind before making an Erish character.
- Common homeland: Eris
- ----------------------------------------
- Orc: A race of large humanoids renown for their brute strength and unrelenting savagery. Orcs believe themselves to be the descendants of primordial man; whether this holds true or not is unknown. Orcs outside of their tribes are often mercenaries and sellswords.
- Orcs are tall and often sport a very muscular build. They have several bestial features, most notably their razor sharp canines. Orcs also sometimes have a pair of pronounced bottom teeth protruding through their lips.
- Common homeland: Found in roving bands throughout Airene. True Orcish homeland is in Falkreg.
- ----------------------------------------
- Halfling: A race of humanoids closely related to the Dwarves. Halflings overall live alongside their Dwarven kin. They make their own little communities in small pockets throughout Kalimourne. Halflings are commonly known as good warrior-poets, and often enjoy the adventuring life.
- Halflings get their names for being well, half the size of a man. They're very short, but likewise swift on their feet. They often opt to go barefoot due to their leathery soles.
- Common Homeland: Kalimourne.
- ----------------------------------------
- Aasimar: Aasimar are a race of mortals blessed with holy ancestry; a prime example being angels. They have no exact home, but are instead found throughout the world. Often considered good omens in their communities, though in recent years were persecuted throughout Zerif.
- Aasimar heritage doesn't really show itself until later stages in life, and can be unnoticed for years before the changes begin.
- Their appearance varies depending on whatever holy ancestry they carry; some may transform to completely different entities.
- ----------------------------------------
- Tiefling: Tieflings are the opposite of Aasimar, and are created from an unholy ancestry instead. Due to the nature of their parents, most Tieflings don't exactly have a happy childhood. On top of this, most Tieflings are hated or shunned, seen as a bad omen.
- There are three types of Tiefling.
- Hellspawn: Hellspawn are spawned from the Devils of Hell. In Zerif, Hellspawn in particular are practically treated with even more respect than Aasimar, and are seen as blessings or gifts granted from the Nine Hells. Hellspawn are the most subtle of the Tiefling races; common traits include horns, hooves, and fur at certain points of the body.
- Cambions: Cambions are spawned directly from the Demons of The Abyss, and are likewise treated with the least respect of the three(a case that is likely due to The Wretched not being too well known in the first place). Cambions are where you hear stories of the demon child tearing through their mothers womb before swiftly flying off into the night. Cambions are unfortunate in the fact that they constantly change throughout their life, developing random mutations as their life goes on.
- The Wretched: Probably the most hideous of Tieflings. These are spawned forth from a primordial race of demons that predate the ones commonly found within The Abyss. Talk to the DM if you really want to play this particularly type of Tiefling.
- ----------------------------------------
- Sylvani: Of all the races on Erilen, the Sylvani were the ones blessed most with the powers of the Fey. They are a feudal race divided by clan, with each clan caught in an eternal struggle over who the next chief of their kind. Many Sylvani often leave their homes due to the conflict they have among themselves.
- While they're gifted with innate magical power, the Sylvani vary in appearance due to the strong amounts of Fey blood running through their veins. Most Sylvani are short folk, rarely standing over 5 feet tall. They have hairs and skin colours that come in bright tones; from reds to vibrant greens.
- Common Homeland: Moswylde
- ----------------------------------------
- Maoren: Maoren or 'catfolk', as they're often called, are a race of tribal humanoids that have feline-like features For the most part, they're a race that lives in nomadic tribes wandering around throughout Erilen. Maoren are stereotyped as hedonists with little regard for decency and the well-being of others.
- True to the nickname, Maoren have light coats of fur with somewhat cat-like facial features, including a pair of large ears and a long tail. Their race is dimorphic by nature, with women often being more sleek and lithe, and men more muscular and tall, often times growing full manes of hair. The women have softer, shorter fur that makes them resemble humans more closely, vs. the men, who resemble a mix between lion and man.
- Common Homeland: Ormanal
- ----------------------------------------
- Naga: The Naga are a somewhat pacifistic race striving to achieve personal perfection. They'd much rather advance themselves as a species through research and magic as opposed to meaningless war. Most Nagas learn how to defend themselves through a special magical art that heightens their body and spirit, granting them heightened awareness and strength. Naga longevity is legendary; only the Erish can really compare to their super long lifespans.
- The Naga are humanoids with scaled skin, sporting a serpent's neck/head. All Naga are venomous by nature, and learn to spit this venom for self defense. Older Nagas eventually evolve, developing a special hood akin to a Cobra's.
- Common Homeland: Hora
