INTERVIEW (English)
*A legendary beautiful adult film actress who debuted in 1986 and gained idol-like popularity, even making her debut as a singer, is Tomomi Akimoto. She looks back on her memories of her photo book "Bessatsu Scola 40 Akimoto Tomomi" (published by Kodansha/Scola in 1987; photo by Isao Hiraji).

To be honest, I don't remember much about the shooting of this photo book. I made my debut in 1986 with the adult film "Graduation" and in 1987, when this photo book was shot, I think there were various shootings almost every day. I had no idea what was going on, and I was so busy shooting that I didn't see many of my works. I had no time to watch them, and I was too poor at the time to own a VCR (laughs). Looking at these photo albums for the first time in a long while, I felt nostalgic and thought I was kind of ugly (laughs).

Looking back on the various photo shoots, I remember lying naked on the ground or in the snow, getting wet with a water sprayer, and other situations that would normally be unthinkable, but I guess my senses must have been numb, so I accepted them unless they were too outlandish (laughs). At first, I was also reluctant to get naked. But I was impressed by the hard work of the production crew, and I think the reason I was able to stick with it was that I wanted to create something good.

I also shook hands with fans at the photo book and AV launch events. When I was asked to do this interview, I wondered if the people who came to those events back then would remember me from time to time. Because the handshake events would draw crowds, sometimes little girls would get in line thinking there was a famous celebrity there, and I remember feeling so bad when they shook my hand with a happy face. Their parents and I would look at each other with a bitter look on our faces.

I retired in 1990, and I don't know if I still have fans today, but thank you for your support. I am fine and doing well. I hope you are all healthy and happy.

*Tomomi Akimoto was born in 1967 in Hokkaido, Japan, and made her adult film debut in 1986 when she won the judges' special prize at the All Japan Video Software Association's "Video Queen Contest". She made her debut in the same year with "Graduation" from Cosmos Plan. Her first three films, including this one, were big hits for their soft content and female-oriented style. In June 1987, she made her debut as a singer with "Shojo Shinwa" and performed at many campus festivals.
