  1. Setting expansion! Number four! It seems to be that I will not be narrating for you my darlings! Sorry! But I hope the narrators I did provide will not lessen your content!
  2.
  3. -------/-------
  4.
  5. Hello, stranger, or familiar. I am Captain Flint, of the Gunpowder Academics unit. This report will detail our original landing in the Green Isles Archipelago, as well as our many first encounters, and time spent here at first. If you happen to have found this, please, hand it to any of the Magister's Order Directors, preferably, Director Descartes of my unit, or the High Director himself.
  6.
  7. Our ship landed five months prior to the writing of this report. The date and details of our trip there, are attached at the end of the report. It seemed to be a peaceful, normal expedition, with simple purposes of exploration, or contact with supposedly primitive civilizations, but as it turned out, a freak storm had different plans. Our fleet's admiral unfortunately, was one of the few victims. As a result, I claimed command over the survivors.
  8.
  9. We had crashed, into a mostly unpopulated island, that had naught but trees, and small animals, as well as few streams of fresh water, and a small lake, near its center. With effort and coordination, from the Order members that had been in the fleet, we managed to build our small colony, as well as minor fortifications. We have prepared armaments, as well as set up boats, to take us to nearby islands, in order to hunt, and gather food, as well as wood, for rebuilding our destroyed vessels.
  10.
  11. Within the following months, we expanded, and integrated rock as well, into our buildings. The effort or some of the magi, and more versatile Magic Knights, helped us settle up a more stable city. But we fear for possible future incursions. We have noted various fishfolk wander beneath our boars, as we cross between the islands. They seem to be silent, and distant, but I cannot help feeling a bit threatened.
  12.
  13. Ships have been spotted in the distance, and a recent discovery, a prisoner of sorts, has revealed the presence of a pirate fleet in this archipelago. We have been trying to set up similar colonies, in the islands closest to ours, but they are still small. Nonetheless, they work fine as outposts. We have located our coordinates as well, and we request immediate evacuation. We don't know when we'll get the ships ready and fixed, in a sailing ready state, or whether the present threats will become too big to handle soon, or too present, to force us into action.

  16.
  17. Salutations, footed beast. You might wonder who I am, or why I am talking to you. I do not know why myself, but I suppose diplomacy was in order either way. My name is not important, and neither are other details about me. I am here, simply to warn you. The depths of these waters, are as of now, hostile to your kin. We do not want you here anymore, not after all you have done. Our trust, has been betrayed, but we will not fall to your level.
  18.
  19. Long ago, a simple, yet very brave woman, called Merissa, noted how you, landwalkers, had been suffering in the hands of the tides. How you could not sail, not even cross a river of a lake proper... So she went on, in a journey, to retrieve an item of untold power. This, allowed her to ascend into the power of a spirit, and we merfolk, have adored her forever for it. She is a symbol of bravery and sacrifice among our kin. Merissa is also however, for the more open-eyed ones, a symbol of naivety.
  20.
  21. She believed in your ability to understand and live in harmony with our species. Oh, she was wrong. You have abused us, and defiled the purity of the underwater. You, have destroyed the seas, and for that... For that, I forgive you. But for the sake of my brethren, and those who have put their faith in me, I shall not tolerate your presence anymore. I demand that you clear off these islands, and no longer conduct your vile, unclean activities that constantly damage our world.
  22.
  23. But I do realize, that not all of you are the same. Those of you not at fault, but who still decide to respect our wishes, I sincerely thank. Those of you who wish to take it one step further, and aid our cause, I accept wholeheartedly. Worry not, for I will allow brief communication, and trade areas, but these will be limited in space, and in territory selected carefully. I simply think that our people have not had a decent relation, and thus, it must cease, until we both, have become better.
  24.
  25. But my enemies, you, should fear. I will replace Merissa, and I shall control the tides. The ocean will have no mercy for you. The depth, will have even less... I do not wish a war, as that'd set a bad example. But be assured, I am most prepared to win one. And I will, if it comes to it.

  29. Captain Flint, asked me to write my piece in the report too. Since I know the most about the pirates, he figured it would be beneficial, to the Order apparently, to know the most about them. I do not have high quality information however, due to having been not much more than a prisoner, so take all of it with a grain of salt. I was imprisoned by one, Captain Hawkson. He did not seem too old, as I'd have expected a hardened plunderer to be, but turns our he was just as skilled.
  30.
  31. From what I'd heard at one point, he had acquired a substantial amount of loot, from a small fleet, also sent to explore these islands. It seems they were under the impression someone was waiting for them, and had been sent to resupply. Hawkson, didn't ask though. He took all he needed, and all he could bring, and stashed it somewhere. I was not allowed to see the exact island. They were very careful with this bit.
  32.
  33. And it is understandable. There are four major fleets in this area. Captains Vodor, Kraghelm, Ulvar and Dante, have some sort of agreement between them, when it comes to attacking larger groups of ships. They surround them, and the loot is secured. In these cases, they split it mostly evenly. But behind the scenes, they are constantly trying to scrounge up whatever they can, and make more of a profit for themselves.
  34.
  35. The pirates possess a certain arsenal of weaponry nonetheless. They have possession of some canons, but reverse engineering is nothing they can manage at this point, after all it is not really their field. They do know how to load, and use them nonetheless. This is not the biggest problem though. One of the islands, is a city of its own. The whole place. It is where I managed to escape.
  36.
  37. They stash most of their shared loot here, and much conflict exists between the followers of one captain and another, at times. It would be difficult to locate it again though. And I doubt anyone would want to. The biggest problem with the fleet in my opinion, is Ulvar. Because unlike the others, his own personal ship does not sail. He has possession of...well...an airship. An armed one to boot.

  40.
  41. Foreigners! Hello! My name is Mona! I have no idea how I ended up in here, but this place is really weird, and I needed a diary to document all of these things. Once I was done, I thought that making a prologue, as well as adding some details on what you'll find out from reading this piece, would help it. First of all, it seems these islands I have landed on, were populated by an ancient civilization! With strange toys, and magics.
  42.
  43. First of all, the structures. It seems they used some sort of strange, pretty solid metal. I could not break it, even using the magics this place provided. They seem to leave thin engraved lines in it though, and most of these devices seem to have a "core" of some sort. It is often a circle shaped engraving, and behind it, lies some sort of weird ball of energy, that connects to the circle. From there, the energy spreads all along the lines.
  44.
  45. I have found strange, centaur like humanoid creatures, with an armored upper body, and six, thick bug like legs. These were twice or maybe twice and a half times as a normal, average human being. There were others, more human shaped, but even taller, and they looked to be somewhat fat. Some of these were stationary, in the form of guardians, stationed near the ancient buildings.
  46.
  47. There were these bizarre temple like places, with the above mentioned guardians found all over. Some of them had parts destroyed, blown off entirely. Some others were in better state. Nonetheless, I was too scared to explore. A few other structures involved large circles of stone, build on a flat level, and with a large door in the middle. It opened up, when I approached it wielding a totem, and revealed a stairway leading beneath the ground.
  48.
  49. Totems themselves, are these tall structures found on many places around here. They can have different shapes, but are made of the same material as most of these structures. They are at best, half my height, sometimes more. I found some sites, that were open, and well arranged, for the totem to be at the very center. A lot of vegetation grew around it, and animals filled these places, but the totem's surrounding circle (marked by stones in the ground) was never approached. They are filled with white power, apparently! I found out about this, from a massive mural!
  50.
  51. It is strange indeed, but it seems the magi of this land carried the totems around with them in battle, and channeled the white power in the form of spells. They needed to be pretty strong as well, to wield the totem. It was a common practice, to also bash enemies with the totems, which was a pretty powerful weapon as it seemed. More swift magi also existed. But these were limited somehow else. It appears, they carried lighter bits of equipment, gloves, boots, and clothing that had been imbued with any source of magic.
  52.
  53. Then, they also seemed to wield staves. The tips of them let out the magical energies, which were used at small range. But these magi also used considerable physical enchantment. They were silent, deadly, and very, very fast as it seemed. I know this because I found their equipment. Had to look around a good deal, but in the end, I made up a full set of it. I am in the way of mastering their abilities. Now, on the other hand, the totem users were slower, bulkier, and their magic seemed to be more obvious, but it also had some more range. The third type of magic, the people who used the weird lanterns were...weirder.
  54.
  55. Lanterns are what I call them, but it seems they are orbs, made of some weird translucent solid, probably glass, but they were much sturdier. They had golden lining all over, and some more golden adornments on top of the lining. If you put mana in them, they glow a nice bright blue, and then float by you! They seem to be capable of firing out mana, as well as, spawn smaller lanterns. When put to use, these smaller lanterns explode, causing everything in the explosions wake to either repair and recover, or decay very quickly, or even change its position, forward or backwards in its trajectory. Time powers?
  56.
  57. From what I could find, these people had a strange woman for a ruler. She was surrounded by twelve of the lanterns, but they were colored dark purple. She seemed scary...not sure if I ever wanna meet her! Well, that is it! These structures spawn over some of the largest islands around here. I've rarely seen people approach, except recently. Some of them laid around here, and started building their own houses, near the shore. I hid from them.
