We delved back into the pools today, I really dislike this place. Everything resists magic, or eats it, or just tries to eat us. Everything seems trapped, or just deadly in general. We travelled with Arturia, who barely spoke to the rest of the group. She seems very devout in her pursuit of this sword, maybe she was sheltered in her temple? Maybe she’ll open up more in time. Maybe some ale would help, if she even drinks ale. Maybe her religion doesn’t allow it.
We managed to clear out the mana pools though. There was a dragon. A god forsaken abomination of a dragon. It seemed like it was almost hunting us, or hunting something and was trapped there. I’m not really sure. When it died something left its body and flew away, a spirit, or magical link. Whatever sent the dragon is likely aware it died though, and probably isn’t happy.
Analyst 7 was happy however, even if he showed no emotion about it. We completed his contract successfully and were rewarded with our access to the mana fonts and his knowledge. I’ll have to think about what I want to know further, but I definitely want to use this opportunity. We lost Arturia already. She asked the Analyst to help in her search for her sword and he teleported her off somewhere, saying it would be her doom. Kind of ominous and sad, though the woman never gave us any hint she would have stayed to begin with, so it’s probably for the best.
